Heeyah.

cos But that's what MrP is facing for doing 35! Which I really do think is a bit harsh. He is OK with the £60 (well, not really, but will lump it) but not the 3 points. Doesn't that affect insurance premiums?

I had a CRESH meet up today. New CRESH.Smile I'm trying to convince her to spend a bit more time over on this thread. (Though she is far too nice to have any druck-related anecdotes so may be scared away by the current topic of conversation!Wink)

Yes, LadyG and I spent several hours at a play barn attempting to demonstrate to each other which is the most stressful age gap. Those kids had us tearing around like mad things!

I think it is fair to say she won the 'competence with two kids' competition when she was enthusiastically pushing her lad in the swing while standing up breastfeeding a 4 week old baybee.Grin I was veh impressed!

MadameBoo · 23/08/2011 16:05

I have had a rubbish day at work today Poll. You're story of l'erb and the joly policeman is bloody brilliant and has cheered my up no end.

Can all the ESH turn up as character witnesses for you in court?

Cosmosis · 23/08/2011 16:06

I think it?s all they can give? I didn?t get the option of the course though, which you do for lower speeding offences. I don't think 3 points affects premiums any more, it's more than 3 that does.

that takes multi-tasking to a whole new level. was new baby gorge??

MadameBoo · 23/08/2011 16:22

Luffly sounding CRESHmeet, hopefully I will get to snuffle at Poll's party :)

CluckyKate · 23/08/2011 21:00

Ah, testing, yes - that's a brilliant word to describe it Box. Did I pass??? Hmm.
We took LC camping for a week in France Moo and it was fine.....good fun in fact. We then went down to the south for a week in a villa with my sister and her gang. My top tip for travelling with kids is to go with other families - lightens the load and means you get at least one night off to go uot and get trolleyed be Mr & Mrs Moo.

Pol you are bloody hilar Grin. Loving the weekend bonus story - is like unexpectedly finding a tenner. Most excellent.

I was under the impression that having a clean licence put me in the minority. MrCluck likes to have a minimum of 3 points on his licence at any one time and at one point had 9 which was a bit hairy. You'd think he'd learn.

Mightily impressed at the BF multi-tasking GG....don't think I ever managed to do it standing up.

FannyPriceless · 23/08/2011 21:21

Yes, the wee girl was luffly! I got a snuggle, and she was so tiny and sweet!Smile Not like my giant lump of a baby nearly toddler.

But please rest assured, all this loveliness was still not enough to convince me to ever contemplate doing it again.

madameboo Do you really think that us lot turning up as character witnesses would actually help poor polly? I think it might mave quite the opposite effect, given the criminal records everyone is now admitting to.Wink

MadameBoo · 23/08/2011 22:22
Wink

I'm a pillar of society, me. Well since about last Monday anyway.

rocketleaf · 23/08/2011 22:42

Gah, breast feeding tops are all RUBBISH unless you want to take out a second mortgage.

CluckyKate · 24/08/2011 09:00

Use normal tops with Primy vest top underneath Rocket - top goes up, vest down & out pops boob with minimal flesh revealment. Worked for me Grin

okiecokie · 24/08/2011 09:41

Pols you make me laugh. Sorry about speeding misfortune though. I think I would have to go to court so they could see I really was not chavvy good honest citizen guv'nor.

Breast feeding tops are shite Rocket. I invested in 4 Boob tops and rotated them and wore them constantly so felt the expense was justified. Cluck's method also works a treat.

OK, so a friend is going away for a week to hot and sunny climes with her fella and is leaving her (just) 2 year old and 8 month old with her parents. I don't know whether to be insanely jealous or give myself a wedgey with my judgey pants. I mean, we are not talking about a little mini break here; we are talking a whole week in the sun. The longest time I have spent away from either of mine is about 18 hours and that was when I was giving birth to one of them.

LadyGoneGaga · 24/08/2011 09:49

Haha, I have successfully pulled the wool over Fanny's eyes.

I did almost EXACTLY the same with car insurance. Came to tax time and realised I had been driving around with no insurance for about 3 months. Was a result of having moved house and not told them and changed the card from which the payment was taken. Apparently they cant be arsed to call you and tell you. Luckily no brush with the law then. However, some years previously I was arrested for drink driving (it was the day after one of my agencies had taken me out for a day of Corporate entertainment at horse races). They spotted me talking on my phone (was ringing up to cancel cards that I had lost the previous night having drunkenly left my wallet somewhere in a pub in Richmond), pulled me over and then noticed I reeked of booze. Failed breathalyser but thankfully by the time they got me to Kingston station through rush hour traffic I was sober enough to pass. Phew. Never drive hungover.

And I was so full of pills I used to rattle in the sixth form. But that's another story Wink

Thanks for the BF standing up kudos. Won't be for much longer as the girl is becoming hefty (11lb at last reckoning) so will have to be with aid of a sling.

Was lovely to meet FP - that girl can go 0-60 after a crawling baby!

Rocket I breastfed MiniG for 2 and a half years and have no such thing as a breastfeeding top. Clucks suggestion is good but I mostly just pulled up my top and let his body shield the worst of my belly over hang.

rocketleaf · 24/08/2011 10:03

clucks yup that's the current modus operandi. I had shit loads of TS vests pre pregnancy so they just go under a tee shirt/top. I was just a/ looking for an excuse to buy a new top and b/ pondering if this could be another new venture. Plus sometimes that gets a bit sweaty on a hot day esp when you also have a sling on.

lady i still haven't figured out how to BF in the sling. It just seems theres not enough room for her body to wrap round me, or do you just have the legs dangling out?

Ha, i tried a dream feed last night, but i couldn't bear to wake her up properly so it was just me jiggling a floppy baby at my boob for about 30 seconds then giving up Anyway she slept til 5 then until 8 so I am not complaining. I think I'll just let sleeping babies lie.

AlpinePony · 24/08/2011 10:06

You must hate me then okie as I'm about to be separated from bear for a week again.

OP posts:
okiecokie · 24/08/2011 10:14

Going to sit in the sun somewhere Alps and drink gin laced sangria then?

rocketleaf · 24/08/2011 10:20

I may have mentioned this before but my mum weaned me from BF to solids within about 3 weeks because she wanted to leave me and my sister with my nan and go skiing. We like to blame her for my screwed up digestive system :o

FannyPriceless · 24/08/2011 10:40

Oh LadyG! Well I was well and truly taken in by your serene appearance and delightful manners.Wink I had you pegged for a terribly naice gel.

But it seems the CRESH truth is that none of us can escape living up to the definition. Evil lurks in us all. Bwwah ha ha!Grin

Was lovely to meet you too. I am still in awe of your highly capable parenting though. At 4 weeks with Clyde I was sobbing in a corner, totally bewildered.

Cosmosis · 24/08/2011 11:25

Well fans I first met you at what, 10 weeks? In and you did a very good impression of coping fine to me!

FannyPriceless · 24/08/2011 12:08

cossie But from memory I only had the one small, immobile child with me. I didn't manage to successfully leave the house with both of them until... um, ... er, ... about 4 months later.Blush

alps How are the SPD symptoms? I have not heard you complaining much. Or do I need to go to the PESH thread for this particular brand of incessant moaning?Wink

LadyGoneGaga · 24/08/2011 12:32

Rocket I was just holding her one handed, pushing swing with the other. What type of sling do you have? MrG bought me a ring sling for my birthday (which needs to go back as is too long) but found the bf ok in that. some good vids on Youtube. Not tried BF'ing my girl in the wrap (Moby) yet but I did MiniG and i think it tok us ages to get hang of it. You need to have sling a bit looser than you normally would and support a bit more with arms. But once I cracked it we managed to walk around the Westfield centre feeding. Not often though as being covered up annoyed him - he preferred showing off my nipples to all and sundry at regular and unexpected intervals.

FP yes, so capable that my boy slapped another child full round the face Hmm. But thanks. Anyway, I have been lucky in that my girl is an "easy baby" thus far. Completely different to MiniG.

rocketleaf · 24/08/2011 12:43

geegee it's a Kari-me. Tbf I've never needed to feed when I've been out with the sling as I usually use it for short local trips or to the centre or people's houses etc. Just been trying to get my head round how it would work abd haven't been able too.

Cosmosis · 24/08/2011 16:14

Metal bleeping bastard.

Still, I?ve done pretty well to get to nearly a year without him turning up, and I?ve thought he was on his way for a few weeks now ? there have been wombular rumblings I should have known two camping trips in quick succession were not a good plan though. Is only spotting at the moment, is it likely to be carnage? Did anyone go straight back to a mooncup or will that hurt?

rockets I never worked out how to do it in the moby.

Lighttaperstandback · 24/08/2011 18:01

Yo yo yo biatches. Been busy round these parts - I appear to have developed A Life this week. Dunno how that came about. Barbie on Sunday was good fun - if knackering. 25 people, 15 of 'em adults. No injuries or food poisoning incidents. Result.

Cosmo commiserations. Though a year is pretty good going I'd say! I went straight back to using mooncup, and seemed ok. Positioning it seemed a bit more of a faff once or twice but that may just have been due to lack of practice and not due to my foof being the size of cheddar gorge now...

I managed to BF in a cheapo mothercare carrier on the tube a couple of times when squib was older and could hold his head in the right place without my help. Never tried it in sling though.

rocketleaf · 24/08/2011 19:54

Boo to droid cossie

Alreet lights glad the BBq was a success.

TB is off for the next few days so I might try and find the time to make a Mei Tai (not forgetting the triple stitching I bet it doesn't happen but I would like to have something to blog about.

rollerbaby · 24/08/2011 21:04

Alps, where the fuck are you off to now? Beatch.

Commiserations cossie on the Droid. My first one was a good while back now (I only had 2 Blush) and was hideous and I was a hormonal wench. But not as bad as I am now. I have no comment on the mooncup. I once went to the FPC for the cap and I was in hysterics trying to put that fucker in (Mr Moo also unimpressed by the 70% success rate for contraception) so I have no idea how you manage with that and full of Droid! How do you manage in public loos? Yikes.

Box I fear my facebook PR machine may slightly give off the wrong impression. I LOVE camping. I can literally not wait to take the little monkeys off somewhere rural where we can all fall into unwashed bliss and fry sausages on a pan. Some of my best ever holidays have been camping in Spain and in the Lake District (we got laughed at by farmer in January when there was snow on the ground) and also walking in the Pyrenees when we camped and slept in snow bothies. I don't obviously do it much now, but back in the day when I was younger and fitter and more up for it I loved the whole thing. My ex wouldn't let us cheat by having pub meals either, he was a right fucker and we used to eat bean feasts on his Tranga and everything. YUCK. I wish my parents had taken me like you take yours and I think the innocence of those holidays must be lovely. Mr Moo not a great fan so maybe I will need to persuade him and get on of those 6 room tents complete with airbed and duvet. That, I wouldn't mind these days.

rollerbaby · 24/08/2011 21:06

Snow bothies? Stone bothies.
