Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Welcome back from hols cossifantutti sorry it was a bit rubbish. Have to say I don't think I've ever considered letting TB book us a holiday unsupervised

No wrist pain here but I seem to have pulled a muscle in my shoulder which is not ideal :-(

SilverSky · 04/08/2011 07:48

WeeWee?

casp tis excellent that you are feeling good again. Smile

For all that HI does that makes me crayzee, he does know a good holiday when it smacks him in the chops!

rollerbaby · 04/08/2011 08:01

Where's our cresh list? We need a private detective on this...

rollerbaby · 04/08/2011 08:02

Welcome back cossie!

AlpinePony · 04/08/2011 08:07

silv - weewee = maswera, but she was originally longwee I think.

I want another Mark Warner holiday where I can be a real person rather than just a bloody skivvy.

Lighttaperstandback · 04/08/2011 09:05

The Janet mystery continues eh? Not sure my tiny brain can handle supervising two threads to try and figure out who it is.

I seem to have managed to go back into my old bras - was never all that generously proportioned in the first place, so they're only a bit more snug than they used to be at the mo (plz to admire cleavage...). I try not to carry Squib round with my left hand at all these days, and my wrist seems to hurt more overnight than during the day, when I'm indanger or twisting it into an uncomfortable angle I s'pose, so I'm hoping it's hormone related and will dissapear once I've stopped BFing for a few weeks. In the meantime, support bandages are my friend. Don't worry Silv, only another, say, 4 years before you are no longer required to carry MB Grin

I think my life is about to become much more like hard work. Squib's still at the commando crawling stage - unlike his mum he doesn't want to put his arse in the air Wink but he's now stepped it up a few notches on speed and distance covered. It's no longer just: "I need to streeeetch a bit for that toy", it's "ooh look, an open window I can get to" Hmm

SilverSky · 04/08/2011 09:12
Hmm

Four years?????? I'm going to invest in a Stanna stairlift. That'll help. Grin

I need this poxy rain to knob off as I need to go to see hoss and I bet said hoss is at bottom of field. Me and MB gonna get soaked. We do need the rain but there are limits!!!!!

okiecokie · 04/08/2011 10:01

Cos you went camping?!

Alps I am with you on the Mark Warner thing. We have just booked something for Sept although not with Mark Warner as I have connections Wink

Muser · 04/08/2011 13:29

Fuck. Where's the Bad Mother Crown? Bob just rolled off the bed only a few days after she rolled off a chair under TBG's watch. Just as well I didn't go ballistic at him. Babies are quite robust, right? I feel like shit now, I was watching her but thought she was ok.

SilverSky · 04/08/2011 13:49

They tend to bounce well muse!!

AlpinePony · 04/08/2011 13:53

Don't bother muser, every time you feel like you're getting anywhere near the crown, cunty pops up with a "YEH? Well I dropped my baybee in a couldron of boiling oil" or "YEH? Well I broke his arm slamming it in the car door". :(

I didn't even bother telling this morning of trying to comfort Bear in the night (barking dogs), but instead accidentally dragging a nail down the side of his face. Blush (Did not aid his sleeping.)

SilverSky · 04/08/2011 14:13

Pone

I was attempting to rescue a leaf from MBs mouth only to scrape my nail on the roof of his mouth. The noise it made was horrific and the scream and tears that followed were heart wrenching. I vow to always let him eat leaves from now on. Grin

I'm watching a rotten programme on SkyAnytime called Adult Baby. It's weird.

Lighttaperstandback · 04/08/2011 15:15

Alps I read that you went in there with an actual nail....like the type one bangs into wood. Thought that made a rather bizarre form of baby comforting technique Grin

Could one of the experienced weaners pls confirm that telephone directory pages can count towards Squib's 5 a day/fibre requirements? Am losing the battle with keeping him from tearing off the pages and eating them. Figure there are worse things he could be trashing...like my poor weeping fig in the corner whose lower leaves are getting nicely trimmed.

Rain, rain go away, haven't left the house all day. Am poet, me.

rollerbaby · 04/08/2011 16:00

Babymoo has eaten most magazines and in fact anything made of paper. He is as bad as the dog. Also just found him wrapped in the mac cable. Oops.

Cosmosis · 04/08/2011 16:15

yes camping. I like camping, I know we're not supposed to camp, but seeing as there is no droids yet in this house and not much sechs I figured it was safe.

Muser · 04/08/2011 17:28

Glad my claim to the crown has been poo-pooed. The baby seems none the worst for her tumble. And actually managed an hour long nap in her cot which is a bit of a stunner. Hmm, maybe she does have concussion. Am surveying the bombsite that is my living room and kitchen and wondering if I should perhaps have down some housework while she was napping rather than sleeping and eating hobnobs. Meh.

TBG working late again tonight. So I'm doing bedtime alone again tonight. I hate doing bedtime. However, while putting the shopping away I did discover a giftpack thing with a small bottle of red and a packet of nuts in (fnar fnar). I think it's technically a Christmas present of TBGs. I think it's actually my reward for doing bedtime alone again.

Muser · 04/08/2011 17:29

Also meant to say, good to see you back Cos. I do not let TBG book holidays because every hotel he has ever booked has been awful. Whereas I book brilliant hotels. I want to go on holiday.

rocketleaf · 04/08/2011 17:50

I want to go on holiday too. It's a distant dream at the moment although we might manage a long weekend in the Lake District sometime in November. That sounds like fun doesn't it?

okiecokie · 04/08/2011 21:04

Rocket is the lack of holiday to do with Sprout or lack on finances? If it is Sprout connected then go as holidays will be just mighty fine up until about 12 months old

rocketleaf · 04/08/2011 21:11

Both really. And also time off for TB as he is restricted to university holidays which makes it more expensive. Plus she has my skin so I am super paranoid about taking her anywhere hot (I burn in the shade). I am hoping we might be able to take her to the states next summer as we have friends who live there but I am a bit reticent about the flight. (always swore i would not fly with a LO as I used to think it was a bit selfish) She would be about 12 months by then.

I have just been looking for cottages for the dates we can do and there are some absolute bargains because no one in their right mind goes to the Lakes in November Who cares if the weather is crap as long as there's some real ale and a wood burner, right?

okiecokie · 04/08/2011 21:17

Yeah I actually think holed up somewhere warm and cosy in somewhere like the lakes in the winter is fab - as long as there is wine and food and plenty of places to walk I can't think of much better really. WRT the long flight 12 months and you should be fine but earlier would be better as they are less likely to want to crawl around the plane.

okiecokie · 04/08/2011 21:18

Muser you only get the crown if she rolled off the bed while playing with some scissors while you were pissed up downstairs.

rocketleaf · 04/08/2011 21:34

I found something cheesy in Sprouts armpit this afternoon. It would appear that despite thinking I was being quite thorough, I haven't been washing or drying her properly Blush Do I get the bad mommy crown or just the scummy one. :(

okie I agree actually (was kidding with the strike through) We are planning on going with a couple of close friends who have a daughter a few weeks younger than Sprout. The boys can do out doorsy things weather permitting while we sit indoors and do crafts. And hopefully we can take it in turns to baby sit for each other. I have found a fab place for £340 for the week, and thats between us. Quite excited! Will bear in mind going earlier. Pretty sure TB would jump at the chance of a winter trip so he could board but it would be less fun for me. The holiday in North Carolina in the summer which looks bloody amazing!

rocketleaf · 04/08/2011 21:35

Sorry that last part was about the states. I'm not being terribly coherent.

FannyPriceless · 04/08/2011 21:49

cos Camping? So did you do joy of tent sex?

Our big holiday this year will be in pollypoo-land for the first week in September.Wink

It was supposed to be Clyde's first full day at nursery today. He has conjunctivitis instead.
