Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Thats spooky FP!! What an auspicious day it must have been. :o

boo haven't put it up yet as we were going to wait for the mattress but we might tackling it tomorrow and put the basket inside. Sprout seems to have lost the ability to self settle :( I am hoping it is just the hot weather making her grumpy plus we have had a really busy day so she hasn't really had adequate naps (although not sure what the problem was yesterday as she slept for England) but probably just that she is moving the goal posts. Ah well, I am told thats babies for you.

We have taken her into my old work place to be cooed over. My old boss wants me back which is very flattering but I think I might have given her the impression I would go back after Xmas, which I am now thinking is too soon. She has said it will be on 'my terms' which is awesome as I made it quite clear I only wanted part time. Hoping I can put them off til March so at least Sprout will be nine months old. :( at the thought of it but have to be practical and I would be stupid to turn it down plus I really loved working with her and the team there. Just wish they were nearer.

AlpinePony · 03/08/2011 19:48

A klaxon has just gone off in pesh! All hands on deck pls!

MadameBoo · 03/08/2011 19:49

Thats is brilliant news Rocket - I went back when smallboo was ten months - it was hard at first but that was mainly because my old boss got promoted while I was on mat leave and my new boss was a psychi hose beast witch. It's a wrench initially but you will get to enjoy the 'grown up' time. January is aaaages away anyway

CluckyKate · 03/08/2011 20:15

I never got the guilt thing when I went back to work - always knew LC would be better off in the care of the professionals plus the nursery is set in 40 acres of fabulosity.....just as good as, if not better than, anything I could provide. However, I did spend most of my first day in floods of tears

rocketleaf · 03/08/2011 20:36

Oh its not guilt on Sprouts part, I know she will be fine and hopefully I will be able to do a 3 day week so its all good. It's just that, as I think I have mentioned, I am terribly work shy so I was hoping to wag it for longer before I HAD to work :o I think I might try and push it back a few more months until she is at least partially weaned. Anyway not looking a gift horse in the mouth at all! I am really lucky, especially in this climate and its really lovely to be wanted and appreciated. Spose I'll have to think about the nursery thing a bit sooner than I thought although TB mentioned that he would love to go part time too so we could alternate days off/child care. I find this a very interesting proposition but wonder if his work would go for it.

SilverSky · 03/08/2011 21:13

Ooh alps thank ye for ye heads up!!!! I nipped into that there Deli for a nose and to "meet" Janet and it's cosy in there non? I can see why many want to get back in there.

My mistake of the day was to let MB snooze til 4.45pm and a deep sleep. We were cuddled up on the sofa and he was shattered considering he was fighting the urge to nap all day. No surprise when he didn't want to sleep at 7. 830 and eventually sleep prevailed. The heat isn't helping is it? Going to be heavy rain tomorrow. Supposedly.

moo I've got dog shit duties too. Should go pick it up before the rains arrive!!

HI has gone out for drinks with a mate and I'm bored as feck all on tv or sky+ and I'm not doing any chores. No wine in the house. At this rate I'll be going to bed early.

CluckyKate · 03/08/2011 21:24

Same situ here Silvio - crap TV and no wine Sad.

Deffo early night for me tho as was up at the crack o' dawn - need to get d'horse fit by the end of the month and MrCluck was available for childcare duties until 8.

On topic of poo I'd pick it up while it's dry & crusty - nasty job when they're soggy.

CurlyCasper · 03/08/2011 21:42

You two could come here and help me pack/tidy, which is what I should be doing instead of drinking strawberry cider. My body must be better, because I have been moving shitloads of furniture these past few days.

SilverSky · 03/08/2011 21:43

Luckily dawg is fed raw so no runny bums here!

What gives for end of month? Is cubbing starting?

SilverSky · 03/08/2011 21:44

I'll take a keg of your strawberry cider curler! Sounds Delish!!!

CurlyCasper · 03/08/2011 21:48

Only got one bottle, I'm afraid silv but it really is tasty. apples, strawberry and lime!

I've just had a message back from a very confused ESH, who is not duffed Grin

CluckyKate · 03/08/2011 22:00

They'll be soggy after it rains tho Silv [nods]

Yep - have handed over my cheque for a full season so will be pounding up and down hills to up the fitness levels Grin

Too knackered for packing & tidying Curls but tempted by the cider. Where can I buy???

Cosmosis · 03/08/2011 22:03

'lo all, been on hols, what's new?

New here is 1) Artie has learned to clap 2) Artie has learned to crawl forwards (just about!)

SilverSky · 03/08/2011 22:06

Doh!

Sounds fun. I fear those kinds of outings are behind me for now. Though they will be reborn once my breeding days are done (assuming we can win again) and with a hunting/eventing schoolmaster type.

Lighttaperstandback · 03/08/2011 22:06

Dog poo...ah yes, I remember happy hours shovelling shit when I were young and it seemed like a good idea to own 3 German Shepherds. If only they'd go and bury it in a corner of the garden like our mog does...

I am wearing a normal bra for the 1st time in 9 months today - no more manky M&S nursing bra induced mono-boobs Grin. We're down to one feed a day now first thing in the morning. Squib's top 2 teeth came in when we were on our hols, and I can feel them when he's nursing - he's only given me one gentle nip, but I think we might be coming to a natural end to BFing. I'm going to miss it :(. There will be positive aspects, like my nipples maybe not hurting one day, and I'm hoping the wrist pain I've been suffering since he was 5 months will go away. Does/did anyone else get that? Did it go away when you stopped?

Lighttaperstandback · 03/08/2011 22:10

Welcome back Cosmo and round of applause to Artie (he can join in if he wants)!

Squib's crawling is limited to the commando variety, so only short distances, but he gets a bit faster every day at pulling himself forward with his hands.

okiecokie · 03/08/2011 22:14

Welcome back Cos. Nice hols? Good on Artie on the crawling. Peppa too is getting about a bit (more than I would like) but only is managing backwards at the moment. I was hoping she would remain immobile until we get back from our hols but since it is at end of Sept I think it is wishful thinking.

Light I splurged on normal bras quite recently and my boobs look like they are another persons! I am still feeding though but I couldn't handle the drop anymore. No wrist pain here.

Right, Janit Janit who the fuck is Janit?

SilverSky · 03/08/2011 22:18

costarica I've been Wondering where you've been! Congrats on the naps and crawling.

lights my left wrist is fucked. Constantly hurts. It's from carrying MB not just bfing. The GP gave me some gel. Does naff all.

Backinthebox · 03/08/2011 22:23

So all you lot with babies the same age as me have just-about-crawling babies, and I have a broken leg and a baby who is after setting the land speed record Hmm?

I will be chasing Cluck up and down the hills in the car, a-fucking-gain. I have tried and tried, and in the last 4 years have managed barely a handful of outings on the horse. This was supposed to be my year back in the saddle. Sad Still, I may have found a jockey to educate Little Horse in the ways of hunting politely before I get back on. A local young girl is looking for a horse she can whip in on - should have him either ready or brain-fried in time for the opening meet in November!

With all the people shouting 'it's not me!' over there, there's not many suspects left, eh?

OP posts:
SilverSky · 03/08/2011 22:31

Curiouser and curiouser eh boxy!?

Decided which hunt you are joining yet?

Jensen Button looks a div in the H&S shampoo advert.

Cosmosis · 03/08/2011 22:39

hol was a bit shit really and I threw a proper tantrum after it, but I'm over it now Grin

Cosmosis · 03/08/2011 22:41

ps is every one elses baybees sleep gone to shit in this heat? Artie has been a star at bed time - self settled the last 4 nights, completely out of the blue. But is also managing to wake every 2 or 3 hours, I think because he's too hot as he downs some water and then straight back to sleep. And there was me thinking self settling being the holy grail of sleeping.....

Backinthebox · 03/08/2011 22:45

Silv we are going with the V&C, west of here.

OH and I saw the new Old Spice ad last night and have declared it to be very clever and amusing indeed. "Look at me, I'm on a horse." Pmsl Grin

Cos welcome back - a handy return to declare it is not you, no? You haven't denied it yet.... Hmm LG does not sleep if I am in the room. Which is a bugger since we don't have a room for him to call his own yet. Nearly there though. What was wrong with the holiday?

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 03/08/2011 22:54

It is not me, I have declared it on tother place.

Basically I let TGO decide on where we were going. I looked back on past holidays and all the good ones have been organised by me, so from now on, he's not allowed a look in Grin. In short, weather crap, place too expensive. However, camping plus baybee was declared a winner.

AlpinePony · 04/08/2011 07:23

Yay cossie You are back! I've missed you but couldn't remember when you were coming home. Sorry to hear the holiday wasn't as great as it could've been - seperate holidays maybe? That might work our end too. I'd send JB to Blackpool pleasure beach and I'd go somewhere with cocktails and half-stripped "cabana" boys with bulging muscles. Wink

I knew it wasn't cossie as she's sechs mad. I think now it's one of the two who are conspicuous in their silence. Also think if it were chocho she'd be shouting from the rooftops with glee rather than keeping quiet. I do think it's very funny that poor quiet weewee has been forced to break cover and declare it's not her! Grin

curly Glad to hear the drugs are working and you're feeilng fighting fit!
