Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Scuse the ignorance pone but are the people who are buying your current yard not buying it as a going concern? Bit confused as to why anyone would buy one otherwise? Spose they are loaded and just want it for themselves? Hope you find a new place asap regardless.

Nice one on the new neddie clucky sounds very exciting and lovely for LG too.

Gripe water seems to have done the trick with Sprout, she slept from 9.30 to 6 am!! then back to sleep again until 9. No grunting or thrashing in the night. She must have been knackered after a grotty day yesterday. Still no poop though (day 7 today)

moo sounds like you had a very full day yesterday, hope you are recouping today. I keep buying stuff thats too small too, keep getting confused over sizes as its so varied from one shop to another and also having to factor in reusables is tricky as I have discovered my vest extenders don't fit the snaps on several brands. Think you will be unusual re: the lose of appetite, I too was ravenous for 8 months. So much for BFing making you lose weight, I am sure I am gaining steadily but am too scared indifferent to weigh myself

Muser · 24/07/2011 12:17

I lost my appetite while diffed, partly due to pukiness. Even when the pukey feelings eased off a little I still couldn't eat much in one go. Oh boy have I made up for it since though!

SilverSky · 24/07/2011 12:38

moo I ate and ate and ate through the entire diffment. At one time I feared that I would eat anything that moved I was so fixated on needing to stop feeling sick and to satisfy the hunger. It was lie nothing I'd ever experienced before.

I def need to investigate options horse wise. Where nag is at the moment was decided on as its enroute to work and 8 miles from home and despite it's faults, plenty of turnout (24/7 for 4mo), services, good hacking, school blah blah. The situ now is on the days I'm working I won't be able to go to yard yet will still be driving past Sad and it will cost me to have him looked after but I know he'll be very well taken care of.

Other yards it's like jumping into the unknown. The 2 min by car yard I need to find out a lot more as aside from the rate I know nothing. The other yard which is at the bottom of my road has four horses, but run down, has school but think it's private.

Also bit concerned about trying to change too many things at once and driving myself crazy with worry/change. Tho until I look into it I won't ever know I suppose.

Glorious day here.

Please could somebody come to mine and do all my chores. Pleeeaaaaaase.

SilverSky · 24/07/2011 12:39

leaf hurrah for happy sprout!

Muser · 25/07/2011 01:30

Where's the stinky cheese gone? And the champagne fountain? We has a new Fred baybee!

SilverSky · 25/07/2011 07:42

Welcomes LadyHaHa! Please accept this tray of celebratory shots. Grin

okiecokie · 25/07/2011 09:51

Great news on bouncing baybeee gaga

AlpinePony · 25/07/2011 09:55

It'll be fine, it's French.

boxer Has the nanny arrived? Is it a McPhee or a Poppins?

rocket The new owners allegedly wish to keep it as a business, however, the facilities aren't that great but I love the current owner and her total "unflappability" and its location to my current office. Both those factors will be redundant shortly.

silv I've been emailing a bloke whose hoss is at this place in Germany. Sounds f'mazing! 24/7 turnout in summer if I want it, 2 indoor schools, 2 outdoor, private paddock for winter, fab hacking, close to "free" x-country course in forest, "normal" people incl. a few "natural horsemanship" types like me - all for 260 smackers a month all-in! Grin Am going to arrange a viewing.

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 09:59

Oic pone german place sounds like a good alternative.

Come on in gaga

rollerbaby · 25/07/2011 10:37

Fab news for Gaga! And a biggun too!

OFf to have early scan today to check all ok. Will report back laters.

Lighttaperstandback · 25/07/2011 11:16

Hello!!! I's back from sunny Sweden! Squib was an angel on the flight - stuck a boob in at the start and he slept most of the way there and back. Not so angellic with the sleeping in horrendously warm well insulated Swedish houses though - woke up early there feeling hot and thirsty, and the habit seems to have stuck now we're back, which I'm going to attempt to knock on the head with this. Anyone heard of/used it? My Swedish friend swore by it so I thought I'd give it a go.

I have many projects to get on with that I had been putting off until we got back, including dropping the 10.00 dream feed, having a go at some potty training (going to give EC a go, old school stylee), and dithering about whether or not to wind down on the BFing now that he's well over 8 months and a good eater. What do, what to do?

So what've I missed? Another new arrival I see. I shall toddle off and do some catching up. In the meantime, snus anyone? Nah, thought not. Vile stuff...just the vodka it is then Grin

Lighttaperstandback · 25/07/2011 11:25

Bloody hell!!! Honeymoo! You're preggo? Missed that one! Congratulations and...er...get some sleep ... Grin

CluckyKate · 25/07/2011 12:09

Hugest congrats Ladywithababy - another beautiful girl to add to the clan. Hope MiniG is liking the new arrival and letting you get some rest.

Welcome back Lights and good luck with your projects. Must be summat about holidays because I came back from mine on a mission too. 1 week on and I've dropped 3 boob feeds and hope to drop the remaining 3 in the next week. Downside is that one side is now a ginormo-rock...hasn't been emptied since BC's bedtime and the little bugger is snoozing and so over an hour late for this feed. I fear if I touch it it may explode Shock

Now, where's that Box - can't imagine what she's gonna do with all that time now she has staff. How's NannyPlum working out???

Pony is booked in for 2-stage vet tomorrow am. This means getting myself & the kids up, dressed, breakfasted and oot the hoose by 8am tomorrow morning. Just the thought of it exhausts me.....perhaps I should go to bed now Hmm

German yard sounds fabuloso Alpro. They know how to run a place them Germans. Is it far from you???

Good luck with the scan HunnyMummy

FannyPriceless · 25/07/2011 12:15

alps That place sounds great.

Welcome back lighterfluid. What or who is EC? We have just potty trained Bonnie.

Wasn't it brilliant weather this weekend? We set up a tent in the garden, filled the paddling pool, had a barbeque, etc! I dug up my entire potato crop to make a potato salad - 14 tiny little spuds.Blush What a pathetic first effort.

Oh, and FLASHING LIGHTS!!! After the kids were asleep last night we put the monitor on the garden table, crawled into the tent and 'did some stuff'.Wink Now that was fun! So we have finally broken the drought!Grin

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 12:56

FP :o at the alfresco action, liking your work.

Good luck with the scan moomoo sure all will be well and you will get to see you new little bee!!

Welcome home tapers sounds like a good time already except not so good on the 4 am waking. I have just been talking to a BFing counselor who suggested I should be waking Sprout up in the night to feed her. But she is gaining weight (10lb 11.5oz) so I think am going to pretend I didn't hear her. Going to try the dream feed again I think tho as the last time I tried it Sprout was still under the weather from the jabs so worth another go I think.

silvs sounds like you have been getting some quality neddy action in. long may it last!

Medee · 25/07/2011 13:09

excellent, fanny!

Welcome back Lights - not heard of that book but hope it works for you. I'm hoping EA returns to sleeping through after the 4 month regression passes. I ditched the dream feeds after a few tries as they didn't seem to help her sleep more.

Rocks we got the OK to let EA sleep as long as she wanted at night just after she was 8 weeks old given her early blood sugar issues. IF she is gaining weight I am sure she will be fine.

Good luck Honey with the scan.

Medee · 25/07/2011 13:11

I spent a chunk of last night re-reading the March 2011 PESH thread (in like a lion...) and it covers my countdown to induction, EA's arrival, then her stay in hospital until she came home. It was quite emotional reading and I must C+P it to keep it as a record. What came out to me was the amazing support I got from you lot, so just wanted to say thank you. (((ESHs)))

FannyPriceless · 25/07/2011 13:21
Wink
okiecokie · 25/07/2011 13:26

Good luck with the scan moo. Pls to report back as soon as poss.

Welcome back light. Are you potty training the wee one by any chance in a baby whisperer train from 9 months stylie?

FP you little minx. If we tried that the whole of the street would hear (small garden innit, not wails like a banshee)

Just has a nice note from Mr C who said he has taken a day off work next week for me to have a day off, go shopping or do whatever I like. I loves him I do. I wonder if I could do a FP and check myself into rehab a nice hotel for the night before...

Meds your optimism was always most refreshing and I for one are very pleased EA is doing so well.

AlpinePony · 25/07/2011 13:35

Yes, three cheers for medee who always had her chin up. Wink

Btw, over in PESH is an antipodean with a "wicked mother", I think you'd get on.

kate It's about 12 miles, which isn't the end of the world and closer than right now. You're bloody right about the germans, when I lived in Belgium I had her at a yard owned and ran by a German woman for about 18 months. E to the fficency! Bloody amazing! As for tomorrow - is it really worth dressing LC or will she have stripped during the car journey? Pop her in the car seat in her pyjamas and get her to get dressed at the other end. Babyclucky can be excused any "fashion faux-pas" given his age! Wink You will be fine. Drive-thru for hot good coffee essential.

fanny Good weather? :( We actually put the heating on. This time last year I had ice-cubes down my knickers and broke out in heat blisters when I cuddled my newborn. This year I've got the heating on. Mental.

Looking forward to hearing your news honey. x

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 14:03

Ah medee I just remember how stoic you were. Makes me a bit ashamed of my meltdown. You are so right, the ESH are bloody amazing when the chips are down. I might have to do the same and C&P my BFing thread for posterity. Speshul thanks to cossie for all the advice and practical support and pone for reassurance about the 'other side'

okie Day off sounds lovely, big up MrC. I suggest a massage. TB has 2 weeks off started next week, we are having a 'staycation' I am booking a massage one of the days and going to get my hair cut etc. I think he thinks he is going to have a holiday (bwahahaaah)

Is it wrong that I am totally over excited about the arrival of my new washing machine and actually looking forward to putting a wash on? Sad, very very sad.

AlpinePony · 25/07/2011 14:14

Yep cossie's amazing. There is no other I'd trust for good & honest advice about bf and she wouldn't know patronising if it slapped her in the face.

FannyPriceless · 25/07/2011 14:40

okes Don't deny that you howl like a banshee. We all know you really do.Wink

Yes, you should totally do the country house hotel thing.

rocket We are all excited about your new washing machine. We have even organised a ticker tape parade for its arrival.

And in other washing-related news can I admit that I am excited that when we are in the new house I will once again be able to hang my Sheila Maid? Whooppee, I will be able to resemble a Victorian scullery maid.Confused (In my defence they honestly are brilliant and I truly can't cope without mine.)

Lighttaperstandback · 25/07/2011 15:15

Given up on trying to read back through fred...so apols if I have missed any other mega huge news announcements. Still reeling from the idea of someone who laid within days of me expecting numero duo...

FP EC = Elimination Communication - or in other words, what most of our mums did when they had to deal with terry towelling nappies and no tumble dryers - start potty training as soon as the sprog can sit up. Planning on planting Squib on the potty for 15 mins or so after each meal, and seeing if any emissions occur - fanfare if they do, no biggie if they don't. I guess it's about just instilling a sort of pavlovian reaction, rather than waiting for them to develop communication skills/bladder control combo. I read an interesting thing somewhere about how in the 3rd world babies are trained to excrete on command at a few weeks old, so figure I'll give it a try. Anything to reduce the guilt at my abject failure on the real nappy front... I'm anticipating he won't be clean/dry for several months, but I don't anticipate going back to work for awhile yet so no harm in trying.

Is a Sheila Maid one of those Victorian uppie downie dryers? I've always wanted one of them...bit more stylish than my Argos wire contraption I suspect...

Springchicken I'm already down to 4 BFs plus a bottle for the 10pm feed, and tbh, Squib's not really interested in the ones he gets during the day unless I'm giving it to him at naptime to get him to sleep . I've bought a tin of Hipp Organic Goodnight Milk...thinking of giving that instead of the 6.30 prebed BF and drop the 10.00 bottle. That'll then really only leave me with the 7.00 morning feed that he really takes. Pathetic, but now the end's in sight, and after all the hell I went through with tongue tie and thrush in the 1st 3 months, I now feel really sad about the idea of stopping...somebody slap me?

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 15:31

Natural you should feel sad about giving up something so hard won lighters but bend over and I'll slap your arse for you anyway. It's interesting to hear how regular these feeds are for someone who has no discernable routine apart from a set bed time.
