I've just got in... well 45 mins ago, from having supper with friends. I've discovered Conrad doesn't like a break in his routine (didn't really know He had one till tonight) I'm shattered from the strain of trying to keep an overtired, grumpy, loud baby settled enough for conversation!!

Night night all xxx

LoveMyGirls · 16/12/2005 08:38

hi havent been on for a bit thought id just a post a quick message before taking dd1 to school hope your all doing well, i think we're getting there you know that as soon as i get jess sleeping through she will start teething i bet! she's got a bit of a cold atm so was hard to settle her but apart from that she did well she's now waking about 5ish which is an improvement on last week from next week im going to give her very weak juice if she wakes before 6am i know she'll only be 3months old and they say to wait til shes 4mths but she really wont drink water no matter how much i try!

what are all your babies doing with regard to sleeping through and those that have cracked it please tell me the secret!!

PickasillyChristmasName · 16/12/2005 09:26

Alice doesn't sleep through. But I am OK with her sleeping.

Need to work on mine though as didn't go to bed until this morning - very bad

PickasillyChristmasName · 16/12/2005 09:28

Where's beatie? HAven't seen you around for a while (and Alice misses her twin)

LoveMyGirls · 16/12/2005 10:15

why didnt you go to bed? how can you not sleep im shattered n jess is a good sleeper i think

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 13:07

Rachel sleeps through 10pm - 8am - I've no idea how I've managed this - she is just like it. However she has very little sleep in the day. One thing I have always done is when she has finished her last bottle and had a clean nappy (around 10pm) she goes in her crib - I put her mobile on and there she stays - sometimes she chuckles for a while, some times straight to sleep and sometimes she grizzles a little - but I do not move her or talk unless she is in distress.

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 13:10

Hope a post like the last does not mean she will wake 5 times tonight!!!

She did wake at 6am the night before last - but that was because I went out for the evening and dh did not change her nappy before her bedtime and she was drenched by 6am - poor girl!

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 14:02

hello

Just a quick question- as some of us have been having erratic tummies - just wondered if any one has been feeling faint? - over the last 3 weeks I have a tendendy to feel a little faint and slightly giddy (like being a bit drunk) without the drink!!! Not all the time but occasionally!

I am going to try to eat and drink well today - as I don't and dh always moans at me for this!

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 16/12/2005 14:06

Hello!
Conrad sleeps through 7.30 - 7 more often than not... we had to wake him this am as he went to bed late last night! But then, he is Halo boy!

my little bedtime ritual is very like Simply Red's, I too let him chortle or grizzle without disturbing

Had wonderful news this morning, Nandy has won a Power of Poetry competition for young writers! her poem is to be published in an anthology next March... I'm soooooo proud of her achievement
She's also been told that she'll be moved into the top maths set next term. She's worked really hard for it as only a few months ago she was struggling to engage with her teacher and apply herself.

Pickasilly... You're right, No Beatie?????

Hope everyone's well x
so, smiles all around in the Cabe household!!

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 14:49

Well done Nandy - on poem and Maths excellent xxxx

partypooka · 16/12/2005 14:58

Well done Nandy!

Tom sleeps from 7.30pm until 4am ish. Then feeds and unless really needs to poo at 5am, will sleep until 7.30am ish. As this is a 1000 times better than with dd, I'm happy with the way it's turned out. Also have managed not to be like I was last time, constantly wondering if tonight could be the night he'd sleep through. I'm going with the flow as it could be much worse.

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 16/12/2005 15:25

Thanks people, she'll be chuffed with your comments.

I was wondering Lovemygirls, what temp do you give jess her water? It's just that Conrad wont take ebm unless it's warmed 'to his liking' ! This is well above the recommended blood heat... could you try this or have you already?

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 19:09

Going out this evening to meet with work mates - don't really want to go - but sure I'll enjoy it once I get there!! Hope I'm back before 10!!!

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 16/12/2005 20:20

thanks simplyred & partypooka x x x nandy.

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 16/12/2005 20:28

Can imagine that work colleagues seem miles away from where you're at now Simplyred... Girls at bumps and babies were just talking of this, saying how impossible it was to imagine the importance of office politics and trivial tensions.

Hope you have a lovely evening anyway... x

milwardmincepies · 16/12/2005 21:53

cabe - well done Nandy. Congrats on the poem & the maths class!

here I've been busy clearing up for our family arriving next week. Sorted out the office today & tomorrow will tackle dd2 bedroom.

I think ds4, 11 weeks, might be getting his first teeth - anyone else having this as well?

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 16/12/2005 22:12

No teeth here Milward, he's very dribbly though and in this wind I have to put sudocreme on his chin to stop it from getting chapped.

milwardmincepies · 16/12/2005 22:16

Good tip there HarktheheraldCabe. I once got an extreme weather cream for dd1 - can't remember the brand but was excellent at protecting the face in the cold - & also against the wet from dribble!

Simplyred · 16/12/2005 22:23

I'm back !!!

Going to bed now - party animal that I am!!!!

milwardmincepies · 16/12/2005 22:25

simply red - hope you had a great time.

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 17/12/2005 00:43

Ooh I haven't come across special cream... I just used sudocreme because it was at hand and he'd started to get that speckly red rash in the cold, necessity being the mother of improvisation rather than invention there!

I'm feeling so Christmassy - I've been warbling carols and making myself cry! I've actually managed some Christmas shopping today and I'm watching Saturday Night Fever whilst wrapping them.

Simply Red Cinders didn't make it in before her carriage turned into a pumpkin then... thought you wanted to get home for 10 you smutty stop-out!!!
Hope the extra 23 mins meant you enjoyed yourself!!!

I'll carry on wrapping and leave you sensible sleeping mummys

Nighty night x

Simplyred · 17/12/2005 08:38

Morning!!!

It's chilly - think when I go out I'll put Rachel in her snow suit - and hope she likes it more than last time! when she cried! ps she also hates her reindeer hat!!!

LoveMyGirls · 17/12/2005 11:43

Quiet on here today, everyone must be out christmas shopping.
im a free woman today and it feels great apart from id managed not to get a cold but today my troat hurts and my nose keeps running trust that to happen on the night im going out for the first time in a whole year!! both the girls have gone to stay with MIL until tomorrow and dp has gone with them to settle them and watch the footie so im going to have a cuppa tea and then get my outfit ready for going out tonight then a bit of wrapping and i need to go shopping for a new bra to go out in

Cabe - tried all sorts of temp she just doesnt like it im thinking if i just half the ammount of concentrated juice so its really weak it should be ok? (she'll be 3 months next week)

SimplyRed - know what you mean about work colleagues i got a cristmas card off my line manager today and i suddenly thought about the fact that im not going back and i have to tell them soon - not looking forward to that, is anyone else not going back?

Simplyred · 17/12/2005 12:11

LoveMyGirls - hello - hope you enjoy your night out.

I can't decide whether to return to work or not -I keep changing my mind! - I'm due back on 23rd January so I need to decide!! Seeing my workmates yesterday made me even more unsure - I really like the vast majority - but there are a couple I'd like to smack in the chops!!!Better go world war three breaking out downstairs!!!

LoveMyGirls · 17/12/2005 14:04
