giddy - really sounds like labrynthitis. Weirdly enough I had it about three weeks ago.

If it's that it is not at all serious, but completely debilitating for about 48 hours. It is caused by little bits of something (you can tell I'm a medical expert, cant' you) getting loose in your inner ear and there is no real treatment other than bed rest. After a couple of days I started to feel much better, but I didn't pick up ds for another day or two and didn't take him up or down stairs for a week, as I still got bouts of vertigo for a few days.

dh was at home the whole time. It would have been impossible to cope on my own because I could not have safely picked the baby up.

really hope you can get some bed rest and feel better soon.

Ick both DS and I have had Flu for a week. It's be horrid. Thankfully we are both getting better. I hope everyone is well. Still a bit too tired to catch up. I can't believe all the babies are so old already. It won't be long till first christmas!!

Hello Junies. Hols, DS'crappy sleeping habits and inability to type (just read) whilst Ds is napping on my lap mean I have lurked a lot and haven't had a chance to post.

Hope everyone's ok.

We're building our solids and freezer contents and Ds is blowing raspberries and is (rightly) fantastically pleased with himself!

Evening all,

Sorry, not been able to keep up recently. Hope you are all well.

Giddy, how did Leona?s birthday go? Hope you got my card in time.

Lummox, if I cat you, would you mind letting me have the name and number of the sleep lady? Would that be okay?

Lua, I know you have mentioned gyms to me a few times. I?ve been sent some sort of free12 day trial for my gym if you are interested???.

All fine and well here. DS is just being a cutie pie. I am enjoying his company so much at the moment, as it just feels he is able to join in more and more as time goes on. Its just such a pity I?m back in work in 3 WEEKS!!!! OMG!!!! I?ve totally stopped b/feeding now, although its taking ages for the milk to disappear. At least I?m not in so much agony any more. These 5-6 months have just flown by.

Hope you are all well and keeping warm in this foul weather.

lummox · 27/11/2005 18:22

Have CATd you, Jonah.

Hope everyone else good.

Skyler · 27/11/2005 18:24

Hello all
I am still here and lurking (like others I suspect).
Hope Leona had a good day Giddy. I love those Daisy Roots shoes too. There are some gorgeous ones on there that I was really tempted by.
I am still v tired and dd2 is still waking up alot. I am getting in a mess as I feed her everytime as I can't handle the crying. She is so loud and it makes me . Never mind repeat with me it is only a phase, it is only a phase, it is only a phase.
On the upside she is GORGEOUS and so smiley and fun. I am going through the 'can't stop kissing her' stage too. She giggles when I do it so it is totally addictive.
DD1 is being really good too. I am sure having her Daddy back has made a difference, not that he was any use today nursing a hangover Grrr .
Right have to love you and leave you again. Eyes shutting as I type so an early night for me leaving DH with Top Gear (which I normally enjoy).
Oh looks like MIL has bought a similar advent calendar to me and posted it out. Sigh. I do wish that she would sometimes just double check. I do like to buy things for my dd's myself sometimes. Sorry I am grateful really just not feeling very nice today . It is probably much bigger and nicer than the one I ordered lol.

tribpot · 27/11/2005 18:41

Hi one and all,

Just a quick update as our broadband STILL hasn't been sorted out (feel like I am living on the moon) - hope all are well and welcome to our "not so newbies".

KVG, Jonah, other northern ladies, we have a meet-up thread going on. MrsW and I met last Wednesday and I have to report that her ds2 is an absolute poppet. I had promised not to kidnap him if I took him out for a walk but now I am not so sure.

Tea, great news about the job. Welshie, belated happy birthday and thoughts to those with sad anniversaries this weekend.

Am almost scared to reveal my stats (somewhat late in the game anyway!) - 33, 1 ds, dh and I have been married for 363 days - yes, our first anniversary is on Tuesday. I had no idea the rest of you had been settled down for SOOOOO long. Like Pink, most people in my family/circle of friends didn't marry til they were in their thirties - or if they did marry before then, it was an unmitigated disaster. (Not in all cases, I should add, but in general).

Anyway, we are getting on well here, MrsW has conjured up some nice sunny weather to make us feel at home. Back to work a week tomorrow (urgh) working afternoons only initially. This is to suit dh, i.e. so he doesn't have to get up in the morning, but monumentally does NOT suit me, as I am shattered by the afternoons. Will have to see how that goes. Am bloody sick of having a sick husband, as I am sure you can imagine.

Take care and hope to be around more soon. xxx

Skyler · 27/11/2005 18:53

redheadmum · 27/11/2005 20:11

hey just a quickie as soooo knackered (see my other thread if you can be remotely bothered)

anyway wanted to ask you guys about the bottle as this is new territory for me.....ds took the bottle fine for the last few weeks. we've not given it every day about 2 x week. Today though he went mental and absolutely refused to take it

is this normal that they go up and down? I"m gonna just keep trying him but any tips?

must go now, going for a fortifying glass of wine and hopefully some sleep zzzzzz....

Just thought I'd check in & say hi. Nothing much to report.

RHM - I think you just have to keep trying (like you didn't know that already), maybe try a diff teat if ds keeps spitting it, I used tommee tippee nuby teats straight after bf and dd took straight to them but when I tried Avent she keeped spitting them. HTHs.

Glad everyone else seems fine, well other than the usual sleep probs. We all seem to be going through a major loved up stage with our little ones. They are sooooo gorgeous just now, loads of smiles & giggles, think dds going to turn into prune with all these kisses. Still can't believe I did that (well maybe with some help) - sorry for getting gooey.

Speak soon

bubbaloo · 27/11/2005 21:56

Evening,

Killiemum-Know exactly what you mean.I still sometimes can't quite believe Ds is ours and that although he's only been here for 5months,we love him soooooo much.He was definately worth waiting for.

Well I just spend the last couple of hours putting all the decorations up and it looks fantastic downstairs.I sent dh out to get a real tree and told him to get the biggest he could find.I can't wait for christmas now-I shall put all the pressies under there tomorrow.

sfxmum · 27/11/2005 22:06

hi bubb and killiemum agree with you re our babies major love in going on here too. its a mush fest!

tree up bubb? was thinking of not bothering this year since we are spending christmas at in laws. dh will have none of it and insists on tree, strange this would usually be me...
really looking forward to christmas dd will be oblivious of course but its our first proper family thing IYSWIM

dh just set up my cranky and creaky old laptop so i am having a go. look no wire... sorry!

Amyjade · 27/11/2005 22:24

Hi Everyone
I'd like to join in on your June babies thread.
Here's some info about me
I'm 27
Engaged to be married in july 07
Dd2 born 17th June
I live in Winchester, Hampshire.

I have used mumsnet for a while and started a thread up on the Health section called Pneumococcal meningitis.
Dd2 was born in June 05 only 8 weeks after i sadly lost my first daughter aged 19 months to meningitis.
I wanted to add to the section so i could tell you all about Dd2 and how she helps me through the dark days.
Dd2 is 23 weeks and thriving, she weighs 19lb already and is rolling over, walking about in her walker, laughing at everything, she is the only person that makes me smile everyday.
I would love to feel the same happiness about being a mum as i did when Dd1 was born but i have a huge hole in my heart and have to live everyday with so much pain of losing my precious little girl that it's hard to be happy about anything.
Thats why i wanted to join this thread so i can tell you all about Dd2 my little gift from heaven!!

She is so very beautiful just like her big sister. x

sfxmum · 27/11/2005 22:28
