Welcome everyone :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 24/03/2011 21:17

So true Elsa! I'm to knackered to post much ATM-both babies are I'll, I'm getting 2hrs max at a stretch at night before one or the other wakes me and my various parents (in laws/out laws/own) are being pita!! everything I thinknof posting is either a winge or seems so dull Grin

Dd2 is gorgeous and starting to wean-one banana 2 days ago and the nappies are still carrying health warnings!! Ds1 is cunning so much-he really is a little preschooler and not a toddler now. He was counting (correctly) today-I can't believe it!

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 24/03/2011 21:18

And I really do have sand in my shoes-the beach has been soling this week-I hope you all have it sunny and gorgeous too :) :)

Elsa123 · 24/03/2011 22:17

Oooh Seashells Envy at the sand in your shoes! We have a house in Ringwood we rent out and your neck of the woods is where we'd like to settle. I love sandbanks and our old spaniel's ashes are buried at the end near the haven hotel and 'H' carved into one of the groin rocks on the left hand side of the little bay bit.

Its been lovely and sunny here too today and DD managed an hour's tummy time in the family room with the french windows open so the dogs could wander in and out.

DD tried cucumber and carrot today. The cucumber was gummed in the same manner as a piece of sweetcorn and she managed to eat the seeded bit. The carrot went everywhere and the chosen method of consumption was to ensure both hands were fully clad in carrot then sucked as if her fingers were dippers. She much prefers finger food to puree but isn't that dexterous so she like me to hold the food, she then grabs my hand with her hands and pulls the food towards her mouth. Its hit and miss whether a finger or the food gets gummed. All good fun though.

I'd read about putting a non sugar fruit spread on rice cakes or bread and found some today in tescos by Rhapsodie on the same shelf as jam. I won't try it for a little bit, I just wanted to get stuff like that in the house in preparation.

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 24/03/2011 22:36

There are so many iPhone autocorrect mistakes in that message I dont know where to start-may be that Ds is changing, not cunning and it was sunny not soling?!!!!

I knew someone here was close by- i think tiredfeet is also Solent way? It is lovely here-Shame everyone else thinks so as we will struggle to buy here :)

Dd is feeding again-she gets so distracted feeding during the day she has added night feeds back in :(

loobyboo · 25/03/2011 05:59

Hi haven't posted in a while, have been trying to catch up on the thread.

Ds is 6mths today I can't believe how quickly time has gone.
Enjoying every minute of him, getting use to the thought that we have a cheeky little chappy, after two dd's.

He's slotted in nicely to our family and my dd's love him to bits, he gets 2 extra mummy's as well. He a bit of a mummy's boy which makes it hard when I go out, but dh seem to be able to put up with his crying, also gets upset when he's own, just loves loads of attention from anyone, also a bit of a flirt with the ladies!!!!

After sleeping through from 7 wks in the last 2 wks or so been waking during the night which has been quite a shock to the system and you wonderhow you coped when they were newborn!!!!! He may be in need of a little more than just me, was close to the 6mth mark so have waited it out & now the weaning fun starts here.

Hope you & your little ones are doing well. Enjoy.

tiredfeet · 25/03/2011 07:58

Well done to your ds for counting seashells Smile sorry about all the illness though
Yes we are on south coast too, love it now the suns out but beaches aren't too busy yet

elsa that's how ds started off, guiding my hands. Its lovely knowing they want it Smile

Hello loobyboo lovely to hear from you happy 6 month birthday to your ds

Elsa123 · 25/03/2011 09:50

sorry, I meant it to be we have a house in ringwood that we rent out to tenants. We live in lincolnshire at the moment and want to move down south when we can.

seashells, yup me too with dd's feeds. In fact she's proving it now by being too interested in her surroundings to feed...

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 25/03/2011 17:12

I remember now TF. On a day like today there really can't be many better places! It won't be so much fun when I gonnack to work though-knowing the beach is there but not being able to go will suck!

Dd had mango today-got the thumbs up :)

Elsa123 · 25/03/2011 19:15

Am soo jealous of seashells and TF Envy Envy Grin.

This may be a premature announcement but I've just managed to get DD off to sleep without comfort sucking. I'm hoping we can keep this up. She manages it in the middle of the night getting down to feeding straightaway then going to sleep off her own bat, its just getting to sleep in the first place thats hard oh and naps...but we'll try and crack the big sleep first. Baby steps....

TysonNobdie86 · 25/03/2011 20:41

Hello, I took Sophie and Archie to Whipsnade Zoo today.
She really liked it, I showed her the Elephants and the Giraffes. People kept looking at me like I was abit odd showing a 5 month old Grin but Im sure she loved it Grin

Elsa123 · 25/03/2011 21:29

I'm sure she did love it. Bronwen noticed birds flying over the garden yesterday so I'm sure Sophie registered the animals!

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 25/03/2011 23:35

I bet she did! We can't wait to take the dc, although I think ds1 may burst something when he sees an 'arffe in real life Grin

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 26/03/2011 08:00

Tyson- we did it at 2 months old & think we were mad! Def not mad now, dd3 was Shock at giraffes

We had a traumatic experience yesterday. Some seagulls flew past & squawked and dd3 sobbed her eyes out , fed her & she cuddled so tightly!

Dh didn't get the job, people had experience he didn't.

Hi looby! Happy 6 m birthday

Elsa123 · 26/03/2011 09:18

Probably a caveman instinct of arghh! predator! cheese. Perhaps she's still got memories of being flown in on that stork Wink.

I'm in London for the week from tomorrow, perhaps we'll go to the zoo...

Well the re-established bedtime routine and asleep by 1900 worked reasonably well. DD was up for a feed at 0100 so that was 6 hours. Then up again at 0500. I think she might have slept longer but she got her muslin on her face and couldn't get it off [biff emoticon]. She had another feed and back to bed but then at 0545 she was sobbing her heart out and she ended up in the crook of my arm napping from 0615-0730. I was aware of her waking up periodically to gaze up at me and smile to see if she could get reaction so she could justify being up for the day! Tonight, with the clocks going forward may be a tad tiring!

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 26/03/2011 11:04

6 feeds possibly more but I can't count when I'm tired! Think she's making up the sabotaged growth spurt. She wouldn't settle for dh at all so he gave up & got up early with her persuaded her to go two hours. By walking up & down the garden with trees & birds to yell at Hmm

floozietoozie · 26/03/2011 11:18

Thanks for reminder about the clocks Elsa.

Dd is six months today. My god! She's had one lot of baby rice and a slobber on a banana so far - now I have no excuse! Bye bye sweet poos...

Hi looby Smile.

TysonNobdie86 · 26/03/2011 17:24

Dd is 6 months on friday, I need to get into more of a habit of feeding solids, she has had sporadic meals Grin

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 26/03/2011 17:31

We are pretty sporadic too. If we are having something she can eat she has some otherwise she has toys. Did yell at me this am for my bread & cheese so I gave her some grapes bit in half. She swallowed a bit and was totally stunned. Usually it comes back out (tongue thrust) or she just sucks the juice.

TysonNobdie86 · 26/03/2011 17:34

Aww bless her. Dd had a bit of toast yesterday and seemed to enjoy it Grin
I am rubbish at getting into a routine regarding feeding solids, need to try very hard as of friday Confused

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 26/03/2011 18:39

She always asks for toast but can't stand the feel so throws it! Suits me as she's a bit early yet!

TysonNobdie86 · 26/03/2011 18:53

My dd is lazy she will hold it for a little bit, give up holding but sucking on the toast so i have to hold it Hmm
I dont think BLW would of suited her Grin

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 26/03/2011 19:55

2 course meal tonight. Potato (floor),carrot ( floor), swede (sucked), melon ( chomped)

TysonNobdie86 · 26/03/2011 23:13

2 out of 4's not bad Cheese Grin
Dd cried through hers today Hmm

Elsa123 · 27/03/2011 04:24

Melon and Swede, what a combo cheese. It does sound like your DD is playing catch up feed wise. DD's just slept 8 hours. I on the other hand was awake waiting for her to wake up as I have tummy ache. Just settled DD and am now downstairs with a cup of mint tea....typical.

DD's got a nasty nappy rash and spent most of yesterday crying over it. I'd used Metanium and I think she's allergic to it as it seemed to make it worse so I've slathered on zinc and castor oil and have just changed her as well (convinced she needed changing by the noises she'd made but no) and it seems calmer. Fingers crossed it keeps improving as we're travelling to London later and I want her to be as comfy as possible. New sleepsuits from last night. 3-6 mth ones from MC. These were the only ones they had in her size and they're not nice, insipid peach or flowery with a pie crust collar. Bluergh....

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 27/03/2011 07:33

Nappy rash cam go with teething elsa?

Melon was pudding, didn't have them together!
