Hey comrades,

tsc if breathing checks were ok and you're not feeling too worried then i'd just medicate him at home for now, just keep a close eye on him ready to call the docs if he declines at all. poor frankles, he's not had a good run of it lately.

mlic how did you get thru dinners/bedtimes?

memphis how you doing now?

Agent's been to value your house and the price they'd market it at is an increase of £65k over what we bought it for - amazing considering we bought at the peak in 07!

still think we can't stretch to the houise next door tho

tsc I agree with doctor cake , if you're not worried and you've checked him I'd do what you can at home but be ready to run him in if you need to. Fingers crossed for you both tonight! I'm also with you on the 'just get out' thing although sometimes it takes sooo long to get them ready I wonder if it's worth it. I think especially once they get beyond 20 months ish they go crazy in the house. L was driving me nuts today just cos she wanted to run around and we had stuff we needed to do that didn't involve open spaces, grr!

cake Shock you must have bought in a good area! they keep saying it's a buyer's market but tbh it's all down to where you live really.

The house I like is one that I'd extend as and when we want to move into it but I have no idea how much an extension would cost...

memphis83 · 10/02/2011 20:45

tsc dont worry i didnt throw myself of a bridge Grin i went for a long long walk in the pissing down rain, i was so wet my undies were soaked but it did the trick, before our hols i bought a snowboarding coat for out door walking and didnt put it on duh!!! L went sleep and chilled out for whole walk ate his tea then dh came through door and L dropped his lip and sobbed til he went bed, feel better that he was like it for dh too, just had a soak, im glad ive got work tomorrow, hes been so clingy i need him peeled off me!!
i ran in the rain for a bit just to blow off steam and i felt my muffin top bouncing up and down, it has got to go, a bloody muffin top, thats from eating too many bloody muffins!!!!
mlic hope you feel better after your nap, bless E for saying that hope he feels better tomorrow, i know what you mean with the flu i got it 3 years ago and didnt get out of bed for nearly 3 weeks then when i got back down the pub everyone had had the flu but were able to work, drive and party!!
cakes what would you do if you could get next door, knock it through or have 2nd property?

memphis83 · 10/02/2011 21:00

oh and i dont know what its called but next thursday my friend has booked us in to have those little fish nibble out feet!!!

kkfairybrains · 10/02/2011 21:39

mlic you poor thing. i'd say you're completely burnt out on top of being sick. really hope the boys sleep well tonight for you.
memphis you really make me laugh with some of the things you come out with. even though you're feeling down you still have your sense of humour! work actually does feel like a break sometimes doesn't it?!
tsc hope frankie will be ok. the poor little sod. hope you're getting time to put the feet up too.
chulita hope dh likes the house as much as you!
just finished work there since 10 this morning. had an hour and a half of a break in between and i had to walk into town to do bank and stuff so have literally not sat down all day and i'm pooped! really busy tomorrow and saturday too. ellie is going to the childminders tomorrow for the first time since before christmas! thank god i'm busy again!
think we'll go to dublin on sunday for a look around. and i really want to go to wagamamas and there's one up there so can't bloody wait!
right gotta go again as have to get house cleaned, washing on shower and do my hair before bedtime when i would just give anything to crawl into it now

Stac2011 · 10/02/2011 21:48

hope you get better mlic flu's a nightmare, bless E for what he said.

tsc you know your child and your instincts are always right

memphis glad you were able to calm down even if you got soaked to your knickers. How you feeling? I fancy the fish pedicure they do it in our larger shopping centres. Apparantly its very tickly.

cakes thats an excellent valuation. Whats dh thinking of doing next door?

Thats a great idea chulita i couldn't imagine you having a weekend hubby tbh, just from what you've said when he's away.

woodlands she was useful then. All kids vary. He's a good weight isnt he

dh that sounds brill is there a website or something? For me i'd be wary of using it but only because i tend not to buy abroad ifyswim.

Stac2011 · 10/02/2011 21:56

You haven't lived til you've tasted chicken katsu curry ond duck yosa (sp?) from wagamamas! oh god i'm gonna be dreaming about this til sunday!! its a japenese restaurant stac. Google it and you'll see.

Stac2011 · 10/02/2011 23:18

i did lol we have 2 may drag dp there the menu looks amazing

CakeandRoses · 11/02/2011 00:11

how's frankie doing now tsc?

hope you at least get a good night and a chance to recover a bit mlic

mmm, kk i love wagamamas too. our nearest is cambridge which is abut 30 mins away so we often go shopping there and have lunch at wagamamas.

stac unless he had good reason then i'd say your dh was pretty awful not telling you about his hours. hope you sort things out soon.

just had our inaugural Pizza Night: me, my sister, my cousin and a friend. We vote on toppings beforehand and then each bring wine, pud or toppings and I do the dough, sauce and cook it. Bloody excellent night, they've only just left, all moaning about diets Smile

Our dream has 'always' been to buy next door and join the houses back together (part of theirs and part of ours was one v big house a couple of hundred year ago) but we couldn't afford to do that now esp as i'm not working full-time. So, if we bought it now, we'd have to sell ours (which we love) and move next door Confused

There's cons - not least the fact it is bound to cost a fortune despite the fact it needs renovation, but it would be a 'forever' house, it has the potential to be amazing, has loads of space and even has an old brick-built stable block at the end of the garden which could be converted in something - e.g. to run a business from or let out.

i don't know if i'm willing to give up our current house tho...

chulita it's in an expensive town (partly because it's on an express route to London and partly because we have some of the best private and state schools in the country) and in a 'prestigious street' in twatty estate agent terms plus it's a period property which apparently haven't been affected so much by the 'crash'. Problem is, all that applies to our neighbour's house too!

cake I was born in St Albans so I know all about your town

memphis glad you got out, hope work gives you a bit of a break!

tsc didn't get much sleep then? At least he's not sick and miserable but not much consolation for you.

stac are you a bit happier with your dp now?

I really want a new 'do' but I've got really crappy thin hair so I'm not sure what could actually be done with it...must have a browse online and see what I can find.

S has crawled over to a mirror and is staring at himself with a big grin on his face - so vain!

stac I think we'll be cautious with the website, if it looks dodgy we wont use it. It sounds really good though!

Dylan cries when he is on his front now but he'll get up onto his knees but his face is in the carpet, bless.

My sister has her 20 weeks scan today so Im going over to hers with my mum and we might go out for lunch after.

Ive been to wagamamas, it is really nice, bit pricey I thought though.

I'm the same mlic I always have big ideas but end up with a trim. I've just got such a boring look, middle part, mid-length thin kinked hair, not even any highlights and I'm sure it could look better with a little more effort and a more adventurous cut.

Tbh I think the only reason S is moving is because he's always on his front. He won't sit up at all which is kind of irritating!

Have fun at the scan dh and don't get broody Grin

kkfairybrains · 11/02/2011 08:42

Chulita a graduated bob is always good for fine hair. Gives the illusion of body and if it's cut right its quite easy manage.
Mlic ask the hairdresser ti suggest a few things to you and you might like something she says.
Good night here E never woke but i've woke up feeling like i've been hit by a bus. My throat killing me and just have a cold in my head and feel achy. Cant believe i got through the whole winter without a cold and got one now.
Hope frankie is ok today.
Do you have anything on today mlic or can you take it easy between screaming sessions?

It's rotten being poorly with a baby to look after, get well soon kk and mlic.

Much better night here last night, he only woke at 11 something and 3.15. I can cope with only one wake up during the time I'm asleep.

Off to a friend's house for lunch today; she has a 2 year old and is pregnant with her second so I think she wants to get the 2 year old used to babies! Mind you J is quite a different proposition to a newborn.

I agree with kk, graduated bobs do look good, I had one a couple of years ago and it was v easy to manage.

Chulita · 11/02/2011 11:56

mlic I was going to say, I've got a good hot cross bun recipe that I make and I just leave the cross off it.

I'd like to try a graduated bob but my face is pretty round and DH likes my hair long-ish so I wouldn't want to take too much off the length.

S is upstairs fighting sleep, he's knackered and has been whinging for about 2 hours unless I'm outside in the garden with him. We're supposed to be going to my parents' but not sure when DH is going to finish work so we can't go anywhere in case he turns up and wants to get cracking...and L is watching teletubbies Confused I absolutely loathe them but wanted to get on here to find a phone number and I don't like staring at a screen when she's running around. Maybe I'd better stop mning and get rid of the tubbies!
