I know, Loopy. I have the scars to prove it though!

DD came home from school with 2 letters on Friday - one about recorder lessons, one about violin lessons. To my great relief she has plumped for recorder. I have too many bad memories of my sister trying to learn the violin Grin And I'll be able to practise with her as I still have my recorder.
William and I have a day of 'lego, chopped up apple and library' (his words) planned today. Work is so stressful at the moment I wish I were a SAHM. I need to set up my cupcake business I think!

RGPargy · 20/09/2011 17:38

Loopy - nah, i knew he'd change his mind as soon as he was properly alert! lol.

Jet - you poor thing, sounds like you had a really traumatic time. It's horrible when that happens isn't it.

MIL managed to collect DD from preschool last Thursday with no apparent traumas, although apparently she had an "episode" that morning because of the stress of collecting DD and it all being different etc etc. She said that she just had to get on with it though because she doesn't want to give up looking after DD. I think the fact that my finger was poised over the phone number of one of my shortlisted minders has spurred her on to realise that i she had to snap out of it (as such) or she wouldn't be having DD until half terms etc! Seems to have done the trick i think! Fingers crossed it all works out! :o

Hi finally got a minute to catch up, although Adam is insisting on sitting right next to me and leaning on me and wittering about various things whilst doing his sticker book, so I may not make sense!

LOM - I can't imagine how hard that decision must be. Hope the boys are in fine fettle? Perhaps a half-term meet up is in order? Good luck with the Ofsted stuff.

Jet - sounds as though you and William have made up! Adam has been having some very, very irrational moments! He had a tantrum the other day because I had toast at the same time as him and he wanted me to have something different. Another time he had a tantrum because he saw a dancing teddybear on an advert and decided that he wanted one. I tried to explain about CGI! Ridiculous woman.

Loopy - pukey Lucy!

Anyway, must go and give Adam some attention.

I missed Educating Essex, I'll have to catch it on 4OD, lots of people at work were talking about it, sounds like a must watch!

I broke one of my cardinal rules today. I have so much work to do, that I did some during the day (it's my day off today) instead of entertaining the kids. It was only an hour, yet I resent even that. I'm also permanently exhausted at the moment and fell asleep after lunch today. I think I might get my iron levels checked out as I'm not normally this drained. And before any of you wonder if it could be anything else Wink it definitely isn't!

Back to the planning now - my year 11s are about to start controlled assessment this week and I want to make sure they've got everything they need so they can just get on with it. And still no sign of Ofsted, grrr.

Greedygirl · 26/09/2011 21:41

Hi Jet - how annoying re Ofsted. It is very annoying when you have to work when the children are awake too. I have just finished some marking and planning for tomorrow. I hate marking! I hope you get to the bottom of your tiredness soon. Lots of weird viruses around at the moment. Beginning of term is always knackering though. Tea and sympathy coming your way Brew. I made an apple pie last week but it was just plain weird so you don't want some of that!

Thanks greedy, tea gratefully received! I've not even started on the marking, and my yr 11s did a mock exam last week which I have yet to mark. It doesn't help that I can't find the mark scheme anywhere! At least I'm ready for tomorrow. And it's DD's parents evening, then I have tutoring in the evening. Roll on Wednesday!
To bed now.

Greetings all. hope you have all had fun in the sunshine.

Hope you've managed to relax after your manic week Jet. I'm exhausted just reading about it. You may not have ofsted yet but I have ! All went well and they are recommending me which is the best outcome. Good job really as I have my places filled for Tues, Weds and Thurs which is all I want to work anyway. I'm so excited about getting started.

Family health stuff is a complete bloody nightmare. It just seems never ending and I can't believe I'm still waiting to see the effing consultant. I'm going to ring his sec tomorrow and cry down the phone, should work !

Oh lordy Loopy, who's done the DIY haircut? Is it DD3?! DD decided to give herself a hair cut a few months ago and now has wonky hair. I am desperate to get her to the hairdressers to even it out but it would mean taking a fair chunk off and leaving DD with shoulder length hair, which i know she would HATE (and probably cry about!). I hope it's not too bad! Pics??! :o

Oh dear Loopy!!! Is it wrong for me to stifle a titter?? :o Blush I so wish DD would let me get her hair cut a bit longer so it's all the same length! It's just sooooo long!! I'll try and stick up a more recent pic of DD on my profile, and i promise it's NOT just so she can do a virtual swish of her lushious long hair lol.

Gosh, sorry, mustn't laugh really....... Blush

RGPargy · 07/10/2011 22:29

Right, have added a pic of DD to my profile, also with her DIY hair do, although from the pic it looks like her hair is all one length but in fact if she puts her head back, the back of her hair will touch her bottom!

Yes it's quite lop-sided too lol. I try and overlook the short shoulder length bits and just see the long bits. I do think she would look quite lovely with her hair at her shoulders but i think she would be devastated to have "short" hair.

Bless DD for making you a card! How sweet!! :o You are right - your DD does at least seem to be sorry for her actions whereas mine is just like "yeah, whatever - i aint going to no hairdresser!!" Hmm Any pics of the new hair do?

My next cake after those teddy cakes turned out to be a complete disaster. Probably because i was trying to decorate it on one of the hottest days of the year in one of the hottest rooms in the country (my house is an oven in the summer!) and i was fast running out of time! I ended up completely re-doing the whole thing and whilst i attempted to make a castle for DS's 21st birthday cake, he did in fact end up with with four little squares with different decor on each one lol. I felt so bad for DS, but he did me the honor of saying that at least it tasted nice...... Blush

Beautiful, scrummy daughters Loopy and RG! I will see if I can upload a more recent pic of my DS. His hair needs a cut so it is lucky that our DCs can't share notes! Whoops. But she looks rather cute with her new "do" Loopy.

Well nothing much to report. Adam is having an angelic phase whilst he gathers energy for the next horrible phase. He is enjoying pre-school and learning his letters nicely, which enabled him to write "tit" in my friend's birthday card. Completely innocently I hasten to add. She can be a bit though!

Getting excited about Adam's birthday now. Think my cake may be a Waitrose special too Loopy. I am good at buns but no good at big cakes. I am too impatient and disorganised. But loving yours RG. What are you doing for DD this year?
