2010 - the best year of my life, for half of it I was pregnant and for the other half had my baybee. Grin

of lovely Honey, i feel bad now. By fesh flu i was referring to a cold that's made worse by trying to be mum/wonderwoman Blush

tho have now developed dodgy tum, woe is me...

Jelus of meet plans

have to do lots of actual paid work this week so will mainly be lurking.

OkieCokie · 07/02/2011 20:52

Where is everyone? Have you all buggered off boarding with Cunty? Tis very quiet around these parts.

AlpinePony · 08/02/2011 06:00

Not going to be able to get over between now and end of Feb - got to do my financial year forecasts and let's face it - if I were any good with money I wouldn't have 18 year old call centre workers sneering at me! Wink

honey You is the glammest of all the glam FESHies! Grin You always seem to have something worthy of showing Dr. Christian on "embarassing bodies". Do you have enough yet for an entire episode?

okie We have lost cheggers whom I'm love to hear how she's getting on back at work and juggling double-trouble, we've lost iggy in a Nigella-fuelled fury of patisserie grade flour, VAG has knitted a tardis? reggie last seen beating her husband. I miss them. :(

Jailbait has redeemed himself - last night when I got home from work clutching handbag, laptop, shopping bag and separately: nappies, toilet rolls & big bag of dog food. Yes, I could get a job in a circus wearing comedy shoes & make-up (which I do already). Anyway wrapped in fancy paper with a bow on was the most beautiful laptop bag I've ever seen. Gorgeous red leather and pretty enough to pass as a "handbag" when I'm not lugging around my life. The boy done good! :)

i'm here. i never went away Smile just never get a chance to post these days.

both babies are crawling and cheekily into everything. when i thought i had my hands full before this - i was wrong!!

also. i'm knackered. whenever i get the chance to sleep, i do. i know i shouldn't really post about sleep troubles at 9 months so as not to scare everyone - but it is actually worse than ever now Shock one or the other would be fine - but when they tag team thru the night .... Biscuit

aside from all that. they are delightful. just bags of fun and giggles.

so much so that i have booked another year off Blush is only fair though innit? 2 babys - 2 maternity holidays leaves.

also could not face going back in April just when the sun was about to come out.

anyway - am also jelus of all your meet ups and gins and coffees. will hopefully crash one of the london gigs at some point when i am in the smoke.

tried and failed a girly night out on Sunday night here. was texted just as i was tucking into my main to come home to 2 screaming girls who were refusing bottles.

how's your bottle giving going moo? hope you are having more luck than us Confused

anyway have been away so long think am missing some congrats the new feshie baybees.

mas, polly, mrsFc - congrats - and how are you getting on??!!

CurlyCasper · 08/02/2011 11:21

Morning,

well, so much for me getting on with work. Squeaks and I are both miserable with this cold and are not functioning well at all. Sad

cheggers - lovely to see you back here. Sorry to hear the twins are such hard work, but hurray to another year off work Envy

silver I hope you are feeling better. Same goes to okie and Peppa and all of you really. Echo what alps said re honey being a glam DHB.

I never did say happy holiday to Cunty, but I'm sure she's having a great time.

That's fab about you and our pal working together alps. Hope it's not a problem for the friendship though!

I'm very much struggling to keep up at the mo, but still care!

My girl has now mastered rolling over and is determined to crawl but ends up spinning in circles on her belly Grin. No teeth yet!

I think there was a recent conversation about giving Calpol etc - we just mix it with a tiny bit of milk or water and feed from a bottle. Can't see why that would do any harm.

I've just watched last night's One Born Every Minute and saw pretty much my own second stage!

SilverSky · 08/02/2011 17:19

The lurgy seems to have lifted. Weirdly it's also been making me feel vomtastic. Quality.

MB on Sunday slept from 730-4 then til 730. Last night woke up at midnight (tho I claim HI woke him up when he came to bed) then again at 4 but he decided that it was getting up time and would not settle si stuck bin in the boob. He went back down just before six as HI was sposed to be on hoss duties. So quelle suprise I ended up going to do the nag. Looks like no riding again for me this week. Tonight I am gonna sit with HI to go thru our diaries.

HI wants to ask his MIL to babysit on Valentines. I'm not holding my breath.

Today has been spent cleaning !! Yes you read right !! Only the kitchen and the skirtings and floor still need doing. I also need to pack up MBs 0-3 mths stuff to go in the loft. I've also been to the docs. MB has the eczema. GAH!

SilverSky · 08/02/2011 17:20

Sorry to not name check. Brain capacity is still at minimum.

Forgive me biatches.

CurlyCasper · 08/02/2011 17:27

glad you are feeling better but soz to hear about excema Sad

also meant to ask after Cossie's Artie. I had impetigo when i found out i was diffed. immunity had plummeted. is not fun, so hope wee fella is coping.

AlpinePony · 08/02/2011 18:45

silv That's quite a milestone there - packing away the 0-3 months stuff! Where does the time go!? Sorry to hear about nag possibilities this week - I hear ya - although things should start to improve with lighter evenings/new house combo. We shall see! I need to try and find some time tomorrow to go to the yard... in between work, coffee with friends, appointment wrt the new house, washing, cleaning bathroom & everything else. Bugger - I said we could go out to dinner tomorrow night, but would rather ride horse.

cheggers Brilliant to see you around these parts and I'm glad to hear we can look forward to seeing more photos of the girls on tour (mostly bars obv.). Funny though, I always thought it was you husband who was the trailing spouse - unless you are so mega important you can take two years off! Are you thinking of climbing back on the horse yet and trying for #3?

curly I hope you're OK and that you'll be on the mend soon. Loved the photos from your weekend - you looked very glam!

OP posts:
OkieCokie · 08/02/2011 21:26

Curls I too watched OBEM and wacthed the forcepts bit through my fingers. I had forceps with #1 and ventouse with #2. Maybe if I go for the 3rd I won't need any instrument. Speaking of which I did just had a scary 2woofl. Not that the droid has returned or anything but that was the fucking problem - the not knowing! Had the sechs a couple of weeks ago (moo twas the night you came for dinner Blush but after you had left of course..) and foolishly did not use anything and spent the last few weeks worrying about a 10 month age gap!
Worried to test in case hormones in bod gave an incorrect +ve result and having "Irish Twins". Anyway, took the bull by the horns and got BFN so all is good. For the first time in about 3 years I was delighted to get a BFN when POS! Ironic thing is I have the pill in the packet and still have not taken it...

Anyway, Cheggs nice to see you to see you nice. Sorry about the sleep ishoos though. It is good to be in that Country where you are though to be able to take another year off.

Silv come tell me about the eczema, mini oke had from 4 weeks so I know a bit about it. What have you got from doctor. Please tell me NOT Aqueous cream?

SilverSky · 09/02/2011 07:29

It's Diprobase which I think is not aqueous? Correct me if wrong tho. We also have Canesten HC for his neck and ears. His neck has become a bit stinky and yukky cos despite cleaning it the rolls of fat lovely baby chubbiness keep everything nice and moist! We can only bath every third night which won't help that. I don't really want to use the steroid cream and I did ask the quack and he said it's very mild and ok for babies. okie any tips???

AlpinePony · 09/02/2011 08:31

silv Bear had the stinky neck twice - discovered once the morning of the HV of course. Blush I put a dab of Sudocreme on it and both times it'd cleared up by evening. Christ knows what they put in Sudocreme but tbh I think it'd probably fix the LHC! Grin Alternatively - tummy-time.

OP posts:
SilverSky · 09/02/2011 10:11

The hell that is tummy time!!! Cue grunting and screeching.

MB slept in his sleeping bag last night and slept from 730-1030 and then 11-6 so not bad. He wouldn't have woken at 1030 if HI hadn't of crashed around downstairs slamming the doors. As I sorted MB out I purposely said to the monitor "oh MB why are you crying is it cos Daddy is SLAMMING ALL THE EFFING DOORS". Next thing I know the washing up was miracously done.

We are enroute to collect my our new wheels! Rock and roll!!!! No more thrice weekly visits to the petrol station which is my pet hate. Tho will have to get used to driving a manual again. I sense some over revving and dodgy gear changes until I get in the swing of it!! Normally I am a point and go kinda gal! Grin

Think I will give myself time off from housework today. Let's face it, the mess chores will still be there tmw.

Cosmosis · 09/02/2011 10:11

yup, we use metanium on his neck and it clears it up nicely.

Artie hasn't been himself at all recently, his head (the impetigo is a bit of remaining cradle cap which got infected and then spread) is really bothering him and I don' think he likes the antibiotics much either. Poor wee lamb.

My dad and stepmum have been staying for a few days which was nice, and gave us some cash with which to purchase a highchair.

just a flying visit from me as friend coming round for coffee in a mo...

OkieCokie · 09/02/2011 20:24

Lots of ailments around these parts. Moo sorry to hear of the ringworm, hope you have a cream to sort it out. And Artie's impetigo doesn;t sound nice either. Peppa has really scaly scalp and I need to get orund to treating it. I have been holding off using any products on her but I think it is probably safe now to grease her head up in sunflower oil to see if I can shift it.

Silv did you get steroid cream too? Diprobase is an emoilient and totally fine to use and you can use it quite liberally. There are numerous emoilents and it is just finding one that suits MB best. I have found diprobase good but prefer Epaderm. If you got steroid cream too then I was advised to use 1 week one and 1 week off and use quite sparingly. It will say on the tube what % it is and it is usually 1% for babies and this is quite mild so OK. This gets on top of the ezcema and helps clear it up and the emoilient moisturisers the skin and can be used as much as needed. I still use Epaderm on mini oke twice a day despite him not having any eczema at the mo. I used to only bath mini oke once a week and I didn't (and still don't) use anything in the bath. Johnson's prducts I personally have found to be quite bad.

rollerbaby · 09/02/2011 21:13

Don't worry about me - apparently it is not a worm just thrush which means scabby bits on back of arms. FUCKING GROSS OR WHAT? Since I have been pregnant I am like a victorian freakshow it is ridiculous. At least I am getting full benefit from my free maternity prescriptions hey.

Silver - sounds like you have got your nights sorted! We are doing 1 wake up around 3-4 which is brilliant compared to before so I am appreciating the sleep v much. Amazing how ungrateful you get though, I'm now wondering when he is going to sleep through!

Speaking of daddies slamming doors... Mr Moo washed dog as I was feeding to sleep at 1830 tonight. Cue dog tearing round house barking and trying to dry himself. I literally could have killed mr moo. He got the very sharp end of my tongue. It is a miracle he is still walking frankly.

okie get you, you kinky monkeys - after our dinner!!! I was a) drunk and b) very full so god knows how you did it!! Very impressed. But also very glad you are not updiffed for the sake of family harmony. I am so loving my little bear I could quite happily get updiffed again but then I think WTF am I thinking.

How the hell do you all do naps in day? From 7pm onwards we are fine, but he will not go down in cot in the day. got to wheel him to sleep in buggy otherwise have to put up with 20 mins of crying. Worried this is going to seep into nighttime. what do you think????

OkieCokie · 09/02/2011 21:32

Moo the only reason I did it was because I drank plenty of wine hence caution was thrown to the wind.

Re naps during the day well I do struggle. However, I never seem to have a problem getting Peppa to drop off at 7pm or again after her 10.30pm feed and as she is sleeping well I night I don't get too overly concerned about daytime naps. I can usually get her to nap well around 8.30/9am and then again about 11ish but afternoon is a bit hit and miss. If I am at home I pop her in her basket, swaddled and curtains shut so it is pretty dark and usually there is 5 mins of wailing and then she drops off. The key is spoting the tired signs before meltdown occurs. Afternoon, I am pretty much always out so she naps in car or pram. I know I am using the swaddle as a sleep aid but it is working for us at the mo.

OkieCokie · 09/02/2011 21:36

Oh and tis the first night mini oke is in his big boy bed tonight and all is quiet up there. Had to kit it out with Peppa Pig/George Pig and Mr Dinosaur duvet cover to get him interested. He shunned the lovely boys patchwork White Company cover which goes nicely with his room.

SilverSky · 10/02/2011 06:41

honey It seems that the combination of a feed at 10/1030 and his sleeping bag that MB then sleeps til 6! My alarm calls at 6 are now him farting his nappy full. This morning he's gone through 3 nappies in as many minutes and poo'd on the change mat and up his back etc. Normally not a problem but I was desperate for a wee myself so it was a tortuous mission.

New car is fab-u-lous! However turns out CD player not working so it will have to go back but as it's not a local place and after the hassles yesterday I think they should come to us. Once again NUFFIN is straightforward.

okie ref Eczema - got the steroid cream and I put it on Tues eve and yday am but stopped and switched to Sudocrem. The pharmacy had run out if the Diprobase so gotta collect that today. Do you put the steroid cream on his sore/cracked bits? MB has a very red patch on the back of his knee that has obv got bad as it's got a scab.

Hope MiniO had a good night in his big boy bed.

Got mad day today and friend has asked to call in later which is fine but the house is the pits!!!!

Anybody else scared at how fast the weeks are flying by! Nearly mid Feb already!!!!!

AlpinePony · 10/02/2011 10:12

honey We certainly went through a phase of where getting him to sleep during the day just wasn't happening and we found it quite stressful. He seems to have got himself in to a routine now where he has 2*45 minute naps a day - one before lunch, one late afternoon. Tbh we needed to develop a thick skin about it all. He was over-tired and upset but giving him attention just kind of over-stimulated him more - e.g., cuddling, reading a book, holding a toy etc. So now when he's over-tired I'll have him in the bouncer next to me so that he can see me, I'll give him his dummy and one teddy but he receives no stimulus other than looking at mummy/holding teddy. Got to make it really boring then he just drops off after 5-10 minutes of grizzling - I can almost tune it out now because I am a bad mummy. Generally he's getting much better at sleeping now and last night when I put him to bed he was asleep the second both arms were in the bag and I'd not even zipped him up! ShockGrin

I have arranged accommodation sarf east lahndan and expect to be over in the next 6-8 weeks. Get baking! Wink Will not be able to get away until after mid-March now due to Carnaval

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 10/02/2011 10:15

silv There are skidmarks, and then there's a vest full of poo and having to roll him on to his tummy to wipe down his shoulderblades. Hmm Tell us about your new car though btw - what brought this about? What have you got rid of and what is your new one? I want to buy a new car this year but god knows if we'll manage it. I want something which can fit baybee/dogs/shopping/leather seats and can pull a (preferably 2 horse) trailer and doesn't cost 5 billion euros a month in car tax. The Holy Grail of cars methinks.

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 10/02/2011 10:34

I have never bothered trying to put him in his bed in the day. We either walk, drive, rock or feed to sleep, if fed to sleep he then just gets put on the sofa. I figured that there was no point in getting him to nap in his cot when he will be going to CMs and have to get unused to it, he'll either sleep in a pram or travel cot in the living room / hall there. Doesn't seem to have impacted night times at all, he goes down fine and can self settle in the night sometimes as well.

rollerbaby · 10/02/2011 11:26

RESULT! White Noise app on phone is in cot and has worked now twice with immediate effect. EFFING BRILLIANT. best £1.50 I have ever spent. Have had to spend no time cooing and gooing or rocking to sleep. Only drawback is can't use phone. hell I talk too much anyway.

rollerbaby · 10/02/2011 11:27

Heavy rain was apparently too recessive and we had to use the full on hairdryer settling with full volume!!!! No gentle womb sounds for this boy...

SilverSky · 10/02/2011 14:05

pony we switched from a 3ltr v6 automatic estate = mucho moulah on fuel to a 1.5i Diesel manual! Is quite spacious. I think you need a Nissan Xtrail.

It's proper cats and dogs here. Hoss will be proper soaked thru.

honey I am also fan of the iPhone app. MB likes car journey, air con and the Doppler. All at max volume.

Wrt naps in day - only sleeps on car or fed to sleep. Rubbish. Compared to not sleeping at all in day he now needs three snoozes a day and ge has developed this routine himself. Like costa there is no point me putting him upstairs as I need him to be able to crash anywhere.

MBs nursery place has just been confirmed.
