2010 - the best year of my life, for half of it I was pregnant and for the other half had my baybee. Grin

Curly do not apologise! I barely catch up with the fred most days, then have no time to reply and by the time I do (when in bed!) everything's moved on again. Soz that your work/childcare is a hassle... is something I dread depending on how my work situation pans out... a subject that I can't go into detail here for obv reasons but let's just say I have a plan B which I'd love to work out.

Fanny, (sorry Alps) I'd go for the cottage every time - think of the resale value if you did ever subsequently find your perfect place. Given the state of the market - I'd be inclined to go that way. Storage you can rent is ten a penny so always an option.

Alpy go on holiday and be on holiday! Do not even THINK about diets until you get back... Either that, or seriously start BF Grin...

Silver Mr Moo also out tonight. However, I'm having a medicinal glass of wine and no nagging about internet use so that's good. Bjorn is good, but I'm similarly not able to walk far with babymoo in it - it is better though when I have it properly adjusted which it wasn't when he was first born and I nearly knackered my back. I think I may need to look into other slings though as I do find him a bit big upfront and worried I might trip over dog etc.

Box your daughter is hilarious. I fear for you when she hits puberty...

We have had a good day or so. Babymoo slept 11pm until 4.20am last night - EPIC!!! I was so happy. Less happy that he had wind until 5am but still... I also got him to take 80ml of formula between 5 and 7pm last night. Whether that contributed I don't know, as he later woke up at 8pm for more boob and then again at 11pm. So he must have been tanked up well. Have I been able to get him to take a bottle today? Have I fuck.

Went to talk to a preggo NCT group today for a question and answer session. I really need to get out more as I did not stop talking. They got both barrels of all my experience in a handy 40 minute session. Poor cows. I got some nice flowers which was good and Babymoo slept through his 1030 feed and then refused to feed properly all day.

We also discovered from my NCT teacher that he had tongue tie - confirmed by GP later today. Feel a bit peeved that not one of the many many many doctors and paediatricians that have seen him over the last 9 weeks have spotted it. Esp given that I have told people his fussing and pulling off the boob. this could be the reason that he gets such bad gas, my nips are compressed after every feed and he doesn't latch as deeply as he should and has taken relatively long time to space his feeds (i.e. last 2 weeks). Anyway I'm assured that it is relatively simple procedure. I don't like the thought of it though. Poor bub. It's weird though as given his phenomenal weight gain, I had dismissed this as a reason when reading about it in various books. I don't really want to leave it though in case of speech problems later on.

PollyPoo · 13/01/2011 21:01

Honey I'm glad the NCT talk went well but bloody Angry that no-one has picked up on the tongue-tie until now.

Had a better start to the night last night - TG gave BB a bottle of EBM at 10.30 and I went to bed. Fed again at 1.30 and 5.30, but unfortunately she wanted both barrels so we were up then and that was it. Still, better than the usual 3 wakings during the night. I've just expressed 4oz for TG to do the next feed and I'm off to bed as soon as the film finishes (we are watching Salt). Such bliss! BB seemed to have her feeding frenzy during the day today, so I'm hoping tonight will be another good one. Fingers crossed anyway...

I'd forgotten how much things change from day to day at this stage... Just when you think you are getting somewhere everything changes. Hey ho. I am trying to relish every moment as I know I won't be having any more bambinos.

In new MIL news, apparently she wants to take nice SIL and her 2 children with us on hols too! (Not her own blood daughter though - she of the cunt-kicking, weird non?)

OkieCokie · 13/01/2011 21:17

FP I would go with House A for the toy store reference Pol states. Jelus too of impending holidays, particularly skiing ones.

Moo glad to hear that I am not the only one with a nagging husband re the internet usage. And as I saw you only today I need not make any more comment on the tounge issue other than to repeat my FFS comment...!
I too am home alone tonight with a cat that has clearly had a fight and has a pussy/manky ear which smells. Nice. I have appt at vet for tomorrow and I am wondering already how I am going to manage with a cat, a baby and a toddler.

Box re babyhawk Peepa is 9 weeks and still froggy for sure. She can only really get one leg out, not big enough yet to get 2 out. I used it the other day and she and I were both really quite uncomfortable and when I checked it out in a shop window it just looked ridiculous. I will try again in a couple of weeks.

Pol balls about the thrush but please to remember my comment about keeping us using the drucks.

OkieCokie · 13/01/2011 21:21

Pol those night time feed times look encouraging. That is what Peppa did in the early days and as I got more milk into her at 10.30pm the 1.30/2.00 feed quickly went and we just had the one nighttime feed around 4.30/5.00 wake up until quite recently.

rollerbaby · 13/01/2011 21:22

Cant believe the nagging I get for being on here... and yet, who's the one that's been out for countless drinks and gigs??? Not me that's for sure! I even let him eat his dinner first and I took the crying baby for the team. I am a fucking great wife. Where's the push present huh? :)

CUNextTuesday · 13/01/2011 21:49

Hooking up with the FESHies is part of the job of being a mother, not a luxurious self-indulgence. Relationships on here are vital, IMO, for mental well-being, affirmation of courses of action, advice and guidance, and simply letting off steam so you don't glasgow kiss your own child. For me it is as important, if not more important, than ensuring that the bedding is washed weekly or the sink is clear or any other of the mindless drudges that the working parental unit seems to think are the primary role of the parental unit on maternity leave

OkieCokie · 13/01/2011 21:53

Clearly you need to find tune your negotiating skills Moo. I get requests from Mr C asking to go to this social engagement and that sporting fixture and my common response is yes, but what is in it for me? Today I got a promise of a night out with the lasses that will be fully paid for by him.

OkieCokie · 13/01/2011 21:55

I am going to quote the mightly cunts when I next get grief for being consumed by FESHfred.

rollerbaby · 13/01/2011 22:06

Any night out I am likely to have isn't going to cost him much more than a tenner let's face it. This child is so going on formula soon. Trouble is BF is the best diet I've ever been on :).

SilverSky · 13/01/2011 23:24

Bloody hell if bf'ing is helping me lose weight and I am two stone over I dread to think what kind of beast I'd be looking at in the mirror.

I too get massively nagged about being on MN! Get told to PUT THE PHONE AWAY!!!!!!! When am on here.... Told him to eff off on nbr of occasions!!!

AlpinePony · 14/01/2011 08:18

I have received remarkable support from all of you. These men can just suck it up - yep, I get moaned at too. Hmm

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 14/01/2011 08:33

I get moaned at too - I find giving him access to the remote shuts him up.

I lost zero weight when bf'ing Silv but found it gradually dropped away once I cranked-up the riding & yard duties.

Cosmosis · 14/01/2011 08:45

I would also go for house A, but then I like ugly 70s houses ( we bought a ugly 60s house).

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 14/01/2011 09:36

I don't get moaned at for being on MN, but it was my secret vice for a long time and even now that I have admitted it, I still don't think it is fully clear where my vast stock of baby lore, good advice and common sense, all illustrated by case studies, actually comes from...

FP I realise it is probably too late now, but I would also opt for the ugly house with all the advantages. I agree that you can still make the inside lovely. I live an ugly apt building with a view of lovely old town houses across the way. I would like to live in a lovely old townhouse, but do still appreciate the practical layout, cheap heat and hot water, security and convenience of the ugly apt building...

I find BFing good for weight control, but it has also turned me into an insatiable chocolate, cake and biscuit eater and slowly this is starting to tip the scales the other way dammit. Will have to try and get back to my normal eating habits.

Pol hope the thrush is getting under control. What misery. You sound very brave BTW! I found silicone dressings (Mepilex was the brand) a fantastically soothing cover for sore nipples between feeds. They were cool and comfortable and promoted healing. Have you something along those lines to wear between feeds? I thoroughly recommend them.

moo amazing that the tongue tie could have been missed until now. Sounds like you have been struggling against the odds.Even if most of the problems it may have caused have been resolved now, it might be still worth looking into. BTW, after seeing the midwife specialised in breastfeeding, I have a new bottle recommended to me for Missy (in the hope of avoiding her going off the breast again). It is made by Medela and is brand new: it is called Kalma (Calma?) and is apparently very close to the boob, requiring vacuum suction etc to work...I have to wait a couple of weeks before trying it, but will let you know when I do.

AlpinePony · 14/01/2011 10:03

moo Wanting to stove his head in with one of your ornaments is totally normal. The hard bit is deciding which one to use.

CUNextTuesday · 14/01/2011 10:17

The one that makes the most satisfying smash I reckon. I threw a pencil at Hom last week which is entry-level I know, but I didn't have a breeze block to hand and there was a significant amount of white-hot rage behind the throw. Do I pass?

AlpinePony · 14/01/2011 10:21

I bear a 2" scar on my right arm from a sister-pencil injury over 25 years ago. How violent was the pencil attack?

OP posts:
CUNextTuesday · 14/01/2011 10:38

Well it was hurled with some venom, but hit him gently just above the elbow. I think my point was made though.

PollyPoo · 14/01/2011 12:14

I threw a bowl at TG after Boo was born. It missed but made the most dramatic noise as it smashed into a bejillion pieces on the slate floor. Do I pass? Grin

FannyPriceless · 14/01/2011 13:19

No throwing here. Just lots of passive aggressive comments about who is the tiredest.Hmm

Thanks all for the house advice. We have reluctantly decided to go with the ugly but practical option. We stayed up until midnight last night trying to figure out how to make the cute little house work for us but had to give it up - nowhere to put a wet muddy buggy when I arrive home with two screaming children, nowhere to dry 4 loads of washing, nowhere for our bikes, books, MrP's guitars, etc etc. Bugger.

cunty These are the renting options! Best we could do given the timeframe. We did consider a chain free house purchase but it was a top candidate for Sarah Beeny to roll her eyes at in Help My House is Falling Down. Saw sense quickly and ran away from that option!Confused

caspy I would love to have you visit! This location is not as good as the other one would have been, but I'll message the details to you. Hope your job / childcare scheme is coming together.

Now, back to my hungry baby...

OkieCokie · 14/01/2011 13:30

Sounds like Clucky is Bf'ing Silv from above comment.

So more investigation is needed WRT when to wean. I am really interested in this. It seems that food allergy and intolerance are one of the reasons for more investigation. Apparently there is a "window" of when to introduce known allergens into the diet which could result in tolerance of the allergen. Veh interesting.

Mini Oke awake from 1.15 to 3.30 last night, what is all that about? Screaming hysterically. Sent Mr C to sleep on his bedroom floor in the end (he was not best pleased as he was a bit pissed) but at least it shut him up. Peppa on the other hand slept through it all until 7.00..

CluckyKate · 14/01/2011 13:44

Whoops - punctuation error there....I iz most def. not bf'ing anyone atm (but will be soon Grin )

Is an interesting debate on Jezza Vine atm regards weaning. So many conflicting views and bits of research that I don't think there is a right or wrong time per se, just need to go with your instinct and what's right for your baby

iggypiggy · 14/01/2011 14:22

Hello all, just dropping by to say hi...

Hardly on here these days, but my extreme sleep deprivation has driven me back for help!

Hope you all ok? I do lurk and keep a vague eye on you all.

Much love and violence to the FESHes xxx

SilverSky · 14/01/2011 14:40

igs we miss you!!!

I def am not being b'fed by anyone! Milk = vom!

MB on a feeding frenzy today back to two hourly and screaming like a banshee as notification to "get the food our momma". Once again today is another achievement FAIL. Hardly anything dime except change nappies and feed the child. Tho some of this screaming is cos he is overtired.

Last night I threw the car key at HI in a red rage. I was fit to maim. I too am thankful for FESH lurve cos without it I dread to think..... Dreading my first bout of PMT.

CUNextTuesday · 14/01/2011 14:40

oh iggs come here for a big FESH cuddle
