bought some organic rice cakes with a hint of apple on them well he wasnt impressed he just doesnt like pieces of food
stac for new years mum is having L but we arent partying we are going cinema then probably for a pint of rum at the local dive pub

WhatSheSaid · 30/12/2010 17:45

Yeah dd1 never liked plain baby rice either, I always jsut mix a spoonful into puredd pear/apple/carrot/whatever.

We're not going out New Yrs Eve, no one to babysit and most of our friends are still without kids so are doing the going out thing, not staying at home to do something. I don't think any of our friends who have kids are doing anything, we're all too sleep-deprived to care about staying up till midnight.

Woodlands · 30/12/2010 17:58

we're not doing anything tomorrow night, all our friends seem to beseeing their families, and we're all familied out after christmas. we've bought a couple of steaks and some ben and jerry's and will prob watch a film on the new telly we bought today.

i also just picked up a load of clothes, i have a friend down the road who has 10 month old twin boys who passes on clothes to me! loads of lovely stuff.

DesperateHousewifeIsXmasCrazy · 30/12/2010 19:17

Dylan did very well gumming his way through banana and naan bread this eve.

Im finally getting my eyebrows waxed tomo, also having a brazilian- eek! Ive had 2 before but still nervous, it hurts!

memphis83 · 30/12/2010 20:17

dh ive had a fringe cut in at last hair cut and i havent had my eyebrows done since! its shameful, i will do them myself at some point, i still cant brave a beauty tech to see my fanjo!! so i think your very brave!!

MyLifeIsTooTiredToFeelFestive · 30/12/2010 20:18

We'll be going nowhere tomorrow night as well - no babysitter and no desire to go anywhere due to the lack of sleep I have endured for the last (almost) 6 months Grin

W won't pick up food either. He did however make me laugh my head of tonight. After a decent screamy-cryey session and a long walk home from town where he insisted on being carried 90% of the way, I gave him the other half of that pouch from last night and he lapped it up. Literally chewing (at nothing cos it's completely smooth) and chomping away on it, haha it was so funny. It made up for the nightmare hour or so that had preceeded it! So he had the rest of that and then some apple, pear and something else I can't remember what that I got out of the freezer earlier.

Wow woodlands that's really lovely of your friend to give you all that stuff. Lucky you! My lo has all his older brother's stuff to wear which at this age is in pretty decent nick as thet're only in it two minutes. However I sorted his 6-9mth clothes today as he's too small for 3-6mths but he somehow only has one sleepsuit! One? How that happened I have no idea. So I'll have to buy some tomorrow. I have also reserved a travel cot for collection. He's not ready to go in whith his brother yet as he's far too noisy in the night, yet I've sold the crib! I promised it to someone for the new year and I can't really go back on it. He's too big for it really anyway and even though he sleeps on his side he still sort of walks up the sides iykwim. So I've got a travel cot as an interim, as his cot's too big to put in the spare room. Fingers crossed he's not in it long.

DesperateHousewife20 · 30/12/2010 20:45

memphis I was nervous before I first went but they cover you with a towel and just lift the section of towel they need to get to so its not really full on fanjo in their face!

DylthanThroughTheSnow · 30/12/2010 21:01

dh eeek! Your a braver woman than me wish I could muster up the courage but find my eyebrows getting done more than enough.

stac we won't be doing anything tomorrow dh is on nights so probably won't be here. I have been invited to my parents but even if I could be arsed to go my uncle is recovering there from flu so am avoiding going. I can't face forcing myself to stay up for the bells and then have b up at 3am and 5am and then having to be up for the day at 6 with d. 10-3 is my longest period of sleep and I'll be making the most of it.

tsc and mliff sorry your both still having a rough time of it Sad And I hope the pox passes you by this time mliff.

MyLifeIsTooTiredToFeelFestive · 30/12/2010 21:32

Oh shit. Just talking to my friend on fb and we were talking about both not doing anything tomorrow night. I said, without thiniking, well you're welcome round here for a drink earlier on before all the kids go to bed if you want. Shit. What if the boys haven't caught chicken pox, and I've just invited the infected family over tomorrow. Shit. Shit.

DylthanThroughTheSnow · 30/12/2010 22:08

According to my gp chicken pox are most contagious before the spots appear once they are there and start to scab over then their no longer contagious so hopefully if your boys don't have it by now then it's passed them over. I'll have my fingers crossed for you. Smile

Thinking on a positive note if it does happen then at least there out of the way. Dylan had chicken pox at the beginning of the year and they really didn't bother him he didn't get sick with them or find them really itchy at all. There was just one spot on the side of his nose that he would not leave alone so he has a small scar there now Sad but apart from that he was fine.

MyLifeIsTooTiredToFeelFestive · 30/12/2010 22:12

I looked upt he same info earlier today dylthan, thanks. Only problem is, her spots have only appeared today so she's far from the starting-to-scab-over stage. So if we missed it on Christmas Eve (it's borderline, we might have done) then we're in prime chicken pox catching mode right now :(

WhatSheSaid · 30/12/2010 22:15

Yes, chickenpox can be quie mild and could be good to get it over with. Dd1 got it at 9 months (first spot appeared while on my own with her on 24 hour journey from UK to NZ Hmm) but she actually got it very mildly, no itching, not that many spots and I'm quite relieved to have got it over with (I know they can get it a second time but hopefully not)

MelissaM · 31/12/2010 00:40

We're not doing anything tomorrow night and I have no plans to stay up ful midnight! We are going to the panto in the afternoon though. Was meant to just be me dh and dd (3) but now mil dd and 3 more adults. Should be fun, but not quite the 1st experience we'd planned for dd.
Happy New Year everyone x

MelissaM · 31/12/2010 00:41

Til midnight even!

MelissaM · 31/12/2010 00:42

Oh and ds coming to panto too

Really must preview posts

WinterChillita · 31/12/2010 08:21

What a night...glad to be (semi) awake.
dh I've always fancied trying a brazilian but the grow-back scares me!
mlic hope you all don't get chicken pox. It's one of those things that you know would be better for your LOs to catch when they're little but I still dread it. L always seems to go down hard with anything she gets (she was very ill for about a week then out of sorts for a fortnight after her MMR for example).
...oh blowholes...Sam's woken up after the world's shortest nap, I was hoping for a good couple of hours since he's been up most of the night from 2 onwards...

WinterChillita · 31/12/2010 08:26

I'm going to ignore him for a bit, cannot be arsed to get up the stairs just now.

spirael how are you feeling today?

We're not going anywhere tonight, too tired/no babysitters/nowhere to go anyway/just want to snuggle on the sofa and knit something [old before my time emoticon]

melissaM I've never been to a panto but I'm working on DH to come with us next year when L will be 3 and will probably enjoy it!

woodlands one of my friends down in Dorset posted all her DS's clothes up here for S, it's so kind cos I just have to pick up the odd bit here and there. It's saved us a fortune! My sis hands stuff down but after two girls (and most of their stuff is handed down to them from cousins) it's not in the best condition - still useful though!

MyLifeIsTooTiredToFeelFestive · 31/12/2010 08:54

Good news! Friend's daughter's spots have disapppeared! Must have been something viral. Phew :)
