Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
saltasaltasanta · 30/12/2010 23:27

Sorry, should have read, thank you, and apologies for previous grumpiness.

CaptainCaveman · 31/12/2010 10:35

Lots of prayers for your dh salta and for your ILs Wink

bbbb your ILs did actually have kids of their own didn't they? Hmm. Weirdos. Their loss though right? I'd be Angry too.

Very quiet around here without my boys...but on the plus side, I slept until 9.20 Grin

SilkStalkings · 31/12/2010 12:53

BBBBShock I think it's amazing how parents forget how to cope with kids after theirs have grown up, like they empty their heads of it to make more room for ornithology or cruises. Must be a biological thing and obviously works on a pay-it-forward basis so we can all be rubbish grandparents when our time comes. I fully plan to swan about the world in a kaftan and Carmen Miranda hat with a 12" cigarette holder, buying utterly inappropriate gifts and visibly shuddering at the approach of a grandchild. That will pay back my kids for everything they ever do to annoy/terrify/upset meGrin.

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 31/12/2010 13:48

LOL Silks, is it wrong of me to say that I can SO see you being like that Grin. LOL @ emptying heads to make room for cruises. Although i will fight you on the ornithnology bit as my frien and i spent an hour trying to identify a flock of birds in her garden last week Blush. They were redwings if anyone is still awake interested Grin

salta i'm sure the DC will be fine, and as you say, showered with love Smile. You concentrate on DH and many {{{positive vibes}}} from here Smile

TwilightSurfer · 31/12/2010 13:58

Salta, your dh is in my thoughts as are you. It sounds like you have a lovely set of ILs and the kids will be fine. (((hug)))

Blueberry, our ILs are made from the same cloth.Hmm Seriously I wonder how their own children managed when young.HmmHmm

Pert, you will be amazed. Things have a way of working out for the best. Smile

I have been wondering how I could go about organizing a bi rthing ce nter here locally. I have so many wonderful ideas I just need funding (this includes insurance and legal representation). I'm pretty sure I've got the legal covered. I just want a place where woman aren't on a time clock for CSs and monitoring is less invasive. It would make me the happiest lady on the planet to create such a center.Smile

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 31/12/2010 14:16

Sounds like destiny to me TS :) If anyone can make it happen, you can. There must be other similarly interested people/groups in the States that you could hook up with or mine information from?

Hope your DH's appt goes well salta.

Ahhh, peace and quiet. I got up at 6am with DS to let DH have a lie in, and DS has been an attitudinous monkey all day long. So DH has taken him to the museum so I can have a bit of time to myself. Need to start cleaning the filthy cesspit house in a minute, but first...loud music, chocolate biscuits and a cup of tea, ahhhhhh.

SilkStalkings · 31/12/2010 16:07

TS Book yourself a tour of Ina May Gaskin's place, see the art of gentle birthing can work in the US.

saltasaltasanta · 31/12/2010 16:41

Thank you all. All fine. Children bribed with biscuits and a trip to the park (we found the ILs negotiating with both children at the top of the slide).

DH also fine, which is very good news. He had an MRI of his head for some funny numbness symptoms. The MRI found a cavernoma (kind of funny blood vessel thing) - but looks likely that it is just an incidental finding and not actually causing any problems, which is a very good thing.

Thanks again.

CaptainCaveman · 31/12/2010 18:14

That's fab news salta Smile

star i hope you enjoyed your freedom and didn't do any housework?

TS what a great idea! Women would love that I'm sure Smile

Spent 3 hours shopping without kids, it was great! Miss the boys like mad but it's nice just to have me and dh time. Bought no clothes but did buy some new foundtion and a brush Grin

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 31/12/2010 19:07

TwilightSurfer · 01/01/2011 01:10

Happy New Year! Hots I'm not out either. We're at home bumming it. DD1 & DH are playing a game on the iPad. I am on my laptop and Droid learning all I can about the Happiest P lace On E arth. DD2 is sitting with with me point out all the characters with GREAT enthusiasm. Grin

Did you know that certain photo dudes in the parks can take magical shots capturing characters like T inker bell in your hands? I can't wait to score one of those prize photos!!!

Back to the happies!! Merry New Year.

hippyChristmaspotamus · 01/01/2011 08:06

morning all
welcome to the new year! mine has started with no sleep... up with P til 2am, up at 5am with T but hey ho Smile

blueberrysantabait · 01/01/2011 08:18

Morning all

Hots - I wasn't out on the lash - I was building the monstrosity that is the DDs new play kitchen (it was supposed to be a Christmas present!) whilst DH watched me and Father Ted. It took 29million hours and I have a number of blisters! If the electirc screwdriver had fitted in some places it would have been much easier! The DDs were very considerate and slept until 7.40 so that helped. DD1's face was a picture, she has just offered me eggs benedict and a latte - well trained!

We have a new little cousin, Roc co - he was born 5 weeks early and is a whopping 6lb, his mum is tiny so probably a good thing he didn't go to term, he is fab and with mum not in NICU as expected.

hippyChristmaspotamus · 01/01/2011 09:39

congrats blueberry Smile

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 01/01/2011 09:40

bbbb which kitchen did you go for? dh cursed for months days about building ours. congrats on new cousin. fab name Smile
