Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Silkstalkings · 25/11/2010 14:37

Yes Shiney you can see a clip on youtube (Southampton) and there's a v funny review on the band's FB page.

Silkstalkings · 25/11/2010 14:42

LOL Just had a flashback to her first song (In My Room by The Coral) - me and DH's band's singer felt sorry for her and sang backing vocals very loudlyBlush.

salta · 25/11/2010 18:19

CC re: spend limit for secret santa. If I am your recipient then we agreed up to 100 pounds and I would like to mention fine wine, champagne and chocolates as possibilities. If not then it's no more than 5 pounds or something hand made!

HippyHippopotamus · 25/11/2010 18:38

i do believe the KK budget for salta, applies to me too Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 25/11/2010 18:48

Postpals

Silkstalkings · 25/11/2010 19:10

Woohoo! Anyway, below (or aboveConfused) is a link to a quick, free and easy way to cheer up a very poorly child right this minute. You can just send an email, an e-card, you can 'help' a reindeer write a letter or an elf buy a gift. My big 2 have already sent some hilarious emails.

Hey, we've bullied my FIL into coming round ad napping on our sofa while we go out for dinner and dancing. Yay!

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/11/2010 19:40

Evening Smile

Managed to get all my work sorted and sent off . I have a day off tomorrow. Woo woo. Am off for a hair cut and colour and then off for a luch out with the girls, with a bit of Xmas shopping slotted in if i can manage it Smile

cece i just sound like i do loads cos i report everything on here Blush. Glad to hear DH's Union is fully supportive and good luck

enjoy your evening out Silks, i'm sure you will Grin

bibi i hope your evening opening is crammed full with loads of buyers Smile

I have a local MNetter coming over later for a drink and a natter and DH due home late tonight, snow permitting Hmm

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 25/11/2010 20:04

Have a brilliant night out Silk! I will endeavour to cheer up a sick child when I'm feeling less useless - currently lying on the sofa in about thirty layers of clothes, eating cheese and crackers while waiting for an experimental dinner to cook.

Crisp have a lovely evening :)

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/11/2010 22:38

Thanks star, have had a lovely evening and Dh home Smile. Where is everyone tonight?

Hope your dinner turned out ok and your back is feeling a tad better Smile

Silkstalkings · 25/11/2010 23:46

Back already! Great fresh Mexican food and beer, danced with DH for the first time in a year, got a lift home with friends. Perfect night outGrin.

TwilightSurfer · 26/11/2010 02:17

HELLO! I have found my way back AND I have caught up. Mercy what a week and it's really not been a full week.Confused

I am over the moon for Star. You and Pert will have a lovely time commiserating until August.

Merlion the news of your scan is wonderful as well.

Silk, all I can say is Envy JEALOUS! I would have loved to have gone out with my DH tonight. It has been too long.

Personally I am fearful for my Irish friends. The state of things there is absurd. I've been reading news reports and scratching my head in amazement. WTH!

Redundancies are scary to hear. And the crap at MrShiney's work, utter bullshit. I'm glad we are all so close so we can support each other along this bumpy journey. (((hugs)))

Potty training: There will be none of that until AFTER Disney World. Goodness knows I don't want to be managing a potty training toddler there.Confused

Hip, I am a bit worried about you and your dh issues. I'm always around if you need a friend to chat.

Queen, the earache idea is a good direction to go in. I would never have said that BUT Tuesday I lived through 3 hours of DD2 crying in such a way that scared me crazy. I found my calm and figured that her cold was breaking which caused a temporary earache. She pulled and tugged at her ear so we knew it had to be the problem. I let her sit in a warm bath then massaged her face (sinus passages). The pain subsided and she sleep extremely well. For several days she'd woken in the night, unable to rest. I'm sure that had to be the reason.

As for DD2 cold, it's almost run it's course. She still has a cough but only after she's run around playing like a wild banshee. The congestion has disappeared and I will swear by V icks V apor R ub on her feet at bedtime.

As for DD2's burn, the bubble diminished on it's own. The area is still red but she's not complained or held it differently. I've put a topic anti-b on it each day. I didn't take her to the doc and won't unless it appears to be infected...which it does not. I have been super careful when we've gone out. I use her blanket as a barrier so she's not touching random unclean surfaces.

Hipster, I think you are correct. Now everyone is on their way to 2 if they didn't have at least 2 already.Wink

DH got his J eep. But I'm sure ya'll saw that on FB.

Turkey for lunch. Ham for dinner. All my experimental dishes were awesome. My one gold standard dish was a flop.Hmm Bottom line, I am extremely pleased with everything today. AND it was stress free.Grin

Totally exhausted now so off here and heading to bed. Tomorrow is shopping and Christmas Cards. I have done NOTHING for gifts as I really don't have ideas I feel 100% about. That goes for my KK. Please send positive vibes that I figure out something FAST!!

Night.Smile

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 09:43

Glad you had a happy thanksgiving ts
I am sitting in the hairdressers with a head full of foils and look gorgeous. Not!

OnceandFutureQueen · 26/11/2010 09:56

Moring everyone.

Took S to the doctors yesterday. His ear chest throat and tummy are all fine apparently. And last night he actually SLEPT! Yaaaaaaaay!
Still really tired here though.

Very Envy of silks nights out!

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 10:26

TS glad you had such a good time, and that dd2's ills are passing over, helped greatly by your care!

Silks I'm Envy too, it's absolutely ages since dp and I had a night out just us. I get plenty of time "off" and so does he but it's a shame it doesn't coincide more.

Queen, glad the doc gave ds a clean bill of health. Can you let me know if you want in on KK?

Crisp, Envy of your hair, I am saving my mop so I can get it cut a week or two before Christmas, but it really needs someone to take a lawnmower to it at the mo. Glad you'd a nice night last night & dh not impeded by snow.

Right, am off to gym Shock.

HippyHippopotamus · 26/11/2010 12:02

TwilightSurfer · 26/11/2010 12:24

Crispy, foil becomes you. Wink I'm scheduled for my moment of renovation on December 3rd. Until then I will wear a braid with pride.

Queen, that is wonderful news. Now let's hear of more restful nights.Smile

Ursula, you are kind but the dish was a total flop. In my defense, it was not my fault. I am blaming it on the fake cheese I used. I didn't melt like it has ALWAYS done in the past.Hmm Do have a fun time at the gym! I want to go to pilates today but DH is working and I'm not paying for a sitter for an hour.

Enya, good morning!! Grin

Silkstalkings · 26/11/2010 13:37

Oh I remember, it's the fake cheese broccoli thing!Grin Does sound yum though.

Got my eyebrows shaped at scary Chinese lady's salon, never again! How did I forget that she uses tweezers not wax, doesn't stretch the skin taut and manages to prod your eyeballs somehow A LOT? Facial bloody torture and I was too scared to stop or complainBlush.

TwilightSurfer · 26/11/2010 13:59

LOL! Silk that sounds like a horror!!!!Shock
