Sounds lovely mlic is it online so we can have a nosey look?

Dp and I are taking Dylan down the town later to watch the xmas lights being switched on by some D-list celebrity (someone from Cold Feet apparently).
Then 2mo we're going to see my parents and DPs dad.

I cant remember if I said but we are hoping to have our wedding reception in a local golf club which DPs dad is a member of.
Its really nice there, got a bar and an outside area and lots of space for dancing!

CakeandRoses · 27/11/2010 09:50

chulita oooh, I've forgot to send you my best house-hunting wishes - really hope you get it!

Cold feet was HUGE, dh, you're just too young to remember it ;-)

It sounds as though you looked amazing last night mlic! Any pics? Did dh appreciate it?

CakeandRoses · 27/11/2010 09:56

Oh and golf club sounds lovely dh!

kkfairybrains · 27/11/2010 10:02

She's okish mlic. Like william she has a really bad cough and her chest dounds bad. She still lies there in a daze sometimes and was off her food a bit yesterday. To me she doesnt seem to be gettin better and the antibiotic only has a day or 2 left in it. Just gonna have to play it by ear. Is william phleghmy or is it a dry cough? feel so sorry for them! thats brill that you felt good in your dress! really gives you a boost to feel good about yourself again. Very jealous of the size 10! i ordered the shred dvd the other day too!

sounds like dp is being a chump, tsc. dh hasn't dared actually say that bf isn't really 'doing anything' but i've had the distinct impression that he's thought it at times by the way he's acted Angry

if dp isn't really helping to get frankie off you and to settle without bf then it might be less stressful (for you) to attempt the resettling without bf yourself. i know it's usually better/easier for the father to do it if you're bf but with F we took in turns (as he was sooo bad, dp would have had no life/sleep if he'd done all the settling plus he has no patience so would have kept giving up) and there was actually no difference between how easily or crap he'd settle for either of us.

I think it's harder on the mother mentally as your instincts (and breast!) want you to bf when they're crying and you can feel a bit torn in two.

The only time dh did all the settling was when I weaned F altogether and I think that was more because i felt so guilty and emotional about it that I would have given in and bf him.

If you think you can stay strong then it might be worth setting a good example to dp by you doing some/more of the settling yourself.

Grin at frankie's placards

oh and has anyone made it thru the 4 month sleep regression and out the other side to better sleep again?

Aurelia is now waking at 3 or 4am and then again at 6 or 7amish and sometimes will need her dummy a few times before she'll go back off both times. I know it doesn't sound bad but it is compared to how well she was doing.

I'm praying it is just a phase and that better sleep will return.

dh golf club sounds fantastic!
nixster tell them all to fuck off! the losers, im so angry just reading that! i think she is GORGEOUS and I LOVE her name!! these people sound vile she is a baby ffs!

last night was ... HELL teeth are well and truely turning our lives upside down! he slept for an hour in total, at 10.30 we were both falling asleep he just cried so dh and i took it in turns to pace the floors with him, he spent 2 mins in his cot, when we werent holding him we were bouncing him in his chair! we have been using Teetha granules today which seem to be helping more than calpol! hes just chewing on his teats!
we went to see the lights last night before hell broke loose he loved that!!

kkfairybrains · 28/11/2010 09:20

kk I looked at the dresses in Monsoon just to see what they were like. I dont think Ill get mine from there but they were nice.
Im going dress shopping the week after next with my mum so hopefully will find something then!

mlic maybe you should have a renewel of your vows so you can wear it again!

I think the night with Dylan was a little better, I dont remember latching him on very often. Maybe 4 times?

DPs dad has a stinking cold so not going there today, might wrap up VERY warm and go for a walk and then we're going to see my parents.

CakeandRoses · 28/11/2010 11:33

Hey all,

sorry tsc, mlic and I seem to have hijacked your aibu thread. not our fault - it just seems full of loons helpful posters who you need protecting from as you're so weak and fluffy Wink

Aurelia seems to have finally fallen off her perfect baby pedestal, after 4 months of sleeping well, eating well, being 50% for height and weight and not being ill - she's now being a total pain little pickle: waking for feeds at any random time and also has a sore throat and cough. She seemed terrible with it last night, making the weirdest noises when she cried or fed, we gave her calpol for the first time and she actually slept ok. This morning, miraculously, she seems much better Confused

dh if you're not sure you want a full-on wedding dress, it's worth looking in boutiques who sell evening gowns and designer clothes. We had our reception in a forest and a proper wedding dress would have been mad so i wore an evening gown instead, still looked very weddingly and was miles cheaper too. Will post a pic of it on fb now so you can see what i mean.

kk you poor thing! hope you manage to catch up on some today

mlic i've got A in a swaddle and a sleeping bag now. Our house is getting soooo cold at night, I got up to put the heating on in the early hours last night when i saw F's room was 12 degrees! Shock

CakeandRoses · 28/11/2010 11:49

dh posted a link to one of my google albums (which contains a very small selection of our hundreds of wedding pics!) so you can see what i mean re dress

the one thing i think is worth spending on is a good photographer whose portfolio you love. we wanted someone a bit informal and arty and we were so happy with how she acted on the day and the resulting pics which had the candid look we wanted. They are miles better than any of the snaps that friends and family took.

i am obsessed with photography tho so i guess it's not as important to everyone.

Oh thank you! Blush

Twas the wedding of our dreams, we literally threw every idea and wish that we had at it and it was such a funny, crazy, lovely day.

We didn't spend a fortune on it either (I just worked my butt off planning it and finding stuff), we ended up spending twice what we meant to but it was still way under the average.

was planning to message needle on fb again today so will let you know if i hear back.

memphis83 · 28/11/2010 13:19

awful night again for us but not as bad as friday i can feel a sharpness on his gum his tooth is so close i just want it to break through now!! he has a real chesty rattle so bought olbas oil and some tixilix just incase it gets worse today
dh remember january sales as its a quiet time for wedding around now the wedding shops will have sales after xmas!!

kkfairybrains · 28/11/2010 13:45

somebody said to me memphis to give them the wooden spoon to chew on that they love it and it helps the teeth to come through..
must go on to the group and see these pics of wedding and mlic's new pics...
oh yeah and which aibu thread is yours tsc?

kkfairybrains · 28/11/2010 13:51

just looked at the pics...mlic william is so scrummy! gorgeous! cakes.....wow. lovely wedding. so different and you looked fab!

kkfairybrains · 28/11/2010 13:58

new thread ladies!
hope this works cos i've never done a link before!

Chulita · 28/11/2010 14:28

I want to see pics cakes, where's the link? I reckon I'm being a bit dense.
dh we got my dress off ebay (new from a shop) and it was lovely! Had the cheapest wedding in the world but it had everything we wanted. The only thing I'd have changed is twice as many desserts Blush and maybe made it last 3 days instead of one.
Thanks for the thread kkfairybrains!

Chulita · 28/11/2010 14:31

found it! I was being dense as I thought Grin
