mlic the creche sounds like a great idea. Altho i don't have the same issues with A as you do with W, I still feel guilty sometimes that F doesn't have proper time with me as he used to. I really like it at weekends if we spend mummy & felix time together whilst A has time with daddy - even if it's just an hour.

tsc that sounds like a night to rival mlics.

think we've crossed paths on a few threads but as mlic said you've usually got there first - all that time MN whilst bf you have to do i guess!

CakeandRoses · 22/11/2010 11:49

just uploaded a few new pics to our fb group - one is a homage of that great pic of william standing, mlic

would love to see some new ones of your babies

tsc if you can't see them then it means we're all good - and then maybe you'll want to come rejoin the group? we miss you Grin

kkfairybrains · 22/11/2010 14:27

Yeah she is quite good when it comes to them things. Kinda makes up for the fact that she never calls to see her even though she passes the house every day!
tsc i used to read alot of threads....rarely ever posted but just dont seem to have the bloody time these days!

cakes that doesnt sound patronising :) Thanks for the kind words.

Dylan's jabs went ok, he cried on the last one but hes fine now.

WhatSheSaid · 22/11/2010 18:48

tsc I only really post on Living Overseas threads apart from this. I read a lot of the other threads though, espec AIBU - it can all get a bit heated can't it.

stac14 · 22/11/2010 22:28

I read threads but rarely post, i use fb more.

Started xmas shopping today made a start at least. Sil is getting a loan to give us £500, but the car didnt get sold so dp is putting it online. Was cutting r's nails and i nicked her finger, felt so bad. R had a crap night last night hoping its better tonight. dh i agree with mlic your doing great. kk its great just getting that wee hand isnt it, hows ellie today?

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 23/11/2010 00:04

At least your gettin something stac! very irritating though.. Ellie's pretty much the same today. The cough sounds looser. Still pretty bad. She woke up loads last night with it the poor thing. Then at half 8 this morn i got her from the cot and just put her beside me and next thing i knew it was 10:22!! we must have both been as tired as each other! she's in good form with it though, bit more sleepy but feeding well and no yemperature so not too worried. Just horrible to see her like this!

stac14 · 23/11/2010 07:09

i'm just hoping she definately does it. Poor ellie, probs the cough keeping her awake kk hope you both had a better night last night.

How was everyone elses night? We had quite a good night although i am begining to hate her dummy, she wakes more often for that so thinking i may phase it out at night or if possible altogether. Any ideas?

Dylan slept 10-1:30, then came in our bed and slept til 6ish, then on and off til 8. Sounds like a good night but I literally didnt want to open my eyes at 8, I could have slept for hours.

tsc Ive only just seen your post, thanks for what you said about me too, its nice to know you dont all think Im just a sterotypical young mum.
I post loads on other threads, mostly in sleep and breastfeeding. I darent post in AIBU, Id get eaten alive.

Question to breastfeeders- if your baby closes their eyes whilst feeding but is still sucking every now and then, do you unlatch them or just leave them til they come away themselves?
Ive been unlatching Dylan but then I think he may still be taking milk down and Im making him come off early as he wakes up sometimes.

Im going into town with my friend and her 6 month old, I really cant wait to wean Dylan and Im a bit jealous that she is weaning her baby! Bit sad I know but Im really looking forward to seeing what he makes of different foods.

memphis83 · 23/11/2010 09:19

morning ladies!
dh on subject of weaning i went to market to get fruit and veg for Lyndon and i got purple sweet potato! he loved it, hoping when i go to stock up again they have the normal sweet potato as it stained my hands and my chopping board!
nothing much to report here, Lyndon is teething and hes in so much pain bless him but sleeping so much better than before in his own roon than he was in ours, still got a bad throat but at least i can talk again now! although nose is streaming, Lyndon giggles when i sneeze but hates it when i cough he looks petrified!!

CakeandRoses · 23/11/2010 09:40

morning all!

second good night here, with my toddler i mean! Two nights in a row now he's woken up briefly but dh has managed to keep him in his own bed and then he's slept til 7.45! A usually has her first feed between 5.30 and 6.30 and then has gone back down til 7.45 too so feels quite civilised round here at the moment!

enjoying it while it last as just like the bad stuff, the good stuff is just a phase too - teething for one or both of them is only just round the corner...

dh i take A off when she isn't actively sucking (eyes might be open or closed). After the first minute, she's normally 'suck, suck gulp' every couple of seconds (remember i have a super fast flow so D's might be slower than that), after about ten minutes she normally unlatches (delatches?) herself but if she's just going 'suck, pause for 5 seconds, suck, pause for 5 seconds', but no discernible gulps then i'll take her off - she only tends to do this with her bedtime and dreamfeed when she's sleepy.

you need to figure out D's own active feeding rhythm as it'll be different to A's (because you'll have a different flow to me) but once you know it then you can take him off when he massively slows from that as he's then comfort feeding or sucking in his sleep but not really taking anything much.

tis only a couple more months and then you can try D on all manner of food Grin

CakeandRoses · 23/11/2010 09:45

not to go on about my torrential flow tooo much but just want to explain so you have something to compare to - in the first minute or two my flow is so fast, aurelia barely sucks - milk is literally flooding her mouth and so she just goes 'gulp, gulp, gulp, suck' with excess milk leaking out of her mouth and with the odd splutter and choking fit.

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/11/2010 09:58

cake my flow is quite fast, Dylan does sometimes choke. I can tell when he isnt actively sucking and swallowing I just wondered if they take v small amounts but obv not!
I want to try and break the habit of feeding him to sleep when we are at home, Im trying to bounce him to sleep in his bouncy chair right now but he seems very awake (its been 2 hours since we got up)

all - just on fb talking to needle who's having a shit time of it with G at the mo (waking up 4 times a night and very clingy in the day). She said to pass on her love to you all and will be back when she can.

mlic that's odd that they both had the same problem, kinda reassuring in that E igot thru it and is a big strong, gorgeous toddler now - ooh and that hair!

can see why bf wouldn't have worked - it's virtually impossible to shove a nipple in and it would be even more emotional for you.
