Hello ladies, hope no one minds me taking the liberty of creating a new thread and approves of the name choice. We've been moving a bit slower than antenatal so though we'd most certainly have some year-olds by the time we finished this one!

Hello everyone Grin

It's been a very long time and you probably have no idea who I am lol!

Just wanted to come say hello, cannot believe our little ones are soon to be one and I'm getting all soppy and emotional that Lottie is our last. I want to rewind the last year...

Huge congratulations to Katster & DWB what fantastic news Smile I am a little bit jealous!

Haven't been on for so long as my life just seems to be a never ending whirlwind that just hasn't got enough hours in the day. I tend to use fb as it's quick and easy when I get 5 mins.

Hope you and your not so little ones are all doing ok.

Lottie finally got her 1st tooth yesterday, hoping that's the reason she was awake all night for 2 nights. She is usually a great sleeper so was a bit of a shock the the system Confused

Having a manic couple of months here, had ds3 birthday on the 1st, he was 2, ds1 birthday on the 2nd he was 9, it's ds2 birthday on the 19th he will be 7 and then Lottie in November!! And this is why it is a good idea to NOT have them all at the same time, then so close to xmas too!

Dd1 gets hers all to herself in July lol.

Well enough ramblings from me, I really want to keep up with you all as much as possible so will make more of an effort Blush

Btw it's Easyeggs!

helips · 10/10/2010 14:13

Ha ha greaterFence at first I thought 'who is greaterfence' but as I started reading through your post I thought 'I bet that's Easyeggs'! Lovely to hear from you, I know what you mean about wanting to rewind the year, it has gone too quickly!

PavlovtheCat · 10/10/2010 21:08

i am here, i am reading and I am Biscuit to any questions about sleeping Grin

MIL still here, all a bit mad, just sitting down for the first time in a while but also going to bed in a mo...got two days off work, yey!

welcome back easy Grin talk properly to everyone in a few days.

And happy birthday to all those imminent, there are a couple aren't there? I wonder if it is worth putting the birthdays down so we don't forget, there are a few aren't there?

SirBoobAlot · 10/10/2010 21:21

EasyEggs nice to see you back :) And yey for tooth number one!

Pav hope you enjoy your days off :)

Was thinking that too, Pav:

SirBoob - Bryn 11/11
pavlov - reuben 28/11

This time eleven months ago I was in labour... Bryn's birthday is in four weeks and I have no idea where the time has gone.

My cousin and her fiancée were here Friday night, and we all got talking. She basically said that if I didn't have my next baby within five years maximum, it would be really cruel for Bryn Confused Its absolutely absurd, and no one should be telling me when I should have a baby (!!), but I now feel almost pressured because of what she has said. Its stupid, and I certainly do not want another baby for a while, but am really stung by the suggestion that by waiting more than five years if it doesn't feel right, then I am going to affect Bryn.

MsInterpret · 10/10/2010 21:42

I remember that early labour SirB! You are right not to feel the pressure SirB and I have to say I am quite Angry at your cousin for even implying it would be 'cruel' for Bryn. What rubbish. My friend had a little girl on Father's Day this year and her DD1 will be 8 in November. She adores her little sister and loves to be with her/play with her. She has a had a wonderful early childhood with her parents and lots of friends to play with; now she is lucky to have a new phase in her childhood and a welcome addition to her family.

Plus: what about only children who never have a sibling?

No one should put pressure in those ways on mummies. Grr!

Lovely to hear everyone's news

SirB there's no right or wrong choice, particularly with regards to your children. I have a friend who's a bit vocal about "devoting" four years to her PFB before having her second child and I take offence sometimes, given that there will be around 18mths between our two, if this one sticks. What's right for one family isn't right for the next. I just need to work on having the courage of my convictions to brush off, how should I put it... Well meant advice?

thewook · 10/10/2010 22:41

SirB anyone who talks about gaps between babies is being a tit, and an insensitive one. Big, small, who cares? All have advantages and disadvantages. And what about half and step siblings too... I'm the oldest of 6 and/or 2 depending on how you look at it and every one of my siblings has been a great addition to the richness of family life for all of us- eighteen years or eighteen months, who cares? Relatively large gap between ds and H, who cares? There's still love and rivalry same as if there'd been less gap, or more.

People ought to keep their mouths shut a lot more IMO, the amount of crap that comes out most of the time (I fully include myself!! Grin)

I finally got to spend a whole afternoon with H this weekend, after having barely seen her for weeks. She's LOVELY, it was like falling in love with someone all over again. She was tottering around this big hall where ds was at a birthday party. She kept running to hug ds who was watching the entertainer, then running back to me, huge smile on her face, for a hug from me. Joyful!! And there's a four and a half year age gap between her and ds SirB!

thewook · 10/10/2010 22:45

PS so envious of all these new pregnancies BUT got rid of the moses basket, the play rug thing, the bouncy chair and loads of rattles this weekend in a clean up operation and it was sad, but freed up an awful lot of space!

Bought H her first wellies too- no going back to babyhood now :)

SirB the age gap thing makes me so Angry since I got a lot of this sort of thing during the 'year of miscarriages' (as I now think of it!) it's SO insensitive!

sirboob ignore those stupid comments, what works for you and your little family is no one elses business and like everyone else says, short or long age gaps have there own advantages/disadvantages.

Hi all,

Ooo BBL how was your night out? REmind me what one of those is like again?!

EasyEggs hello! Hope things are good with you and your brood. SOunds like you have a manic October/Nov with birthdays.

Pav how long is MIL staying? Is this good/bad?

SirBoob what rubbish about 5 years being a maximum! One of my friends has a 7 year gap between his only sibling and is amazingly close to her. I think this sibling age gap talk is rubbish - loads of people are telling me that if you have an XXX age gap they will get on amazingly/terribly blah blah. It doesnt make any difference! Oh, and I am an only child and clearly traumatised by the lack of sibling Hmm

I am knackered. We have had 4 nights in a row of midnight - 4am non-stop screaming.Followed by getting up at 5am. He's not well, got a bad cough which is also making him choke and so seems to be massively regressing with food and would happily live on milk and yoghurt. Every time he eats anything lumpier (even porridge) he gags and throws up, it's awful. So I am a grumpy tired mummy today, DH got up at 4.30 with him yesterday but today it was my turn...Boo...

JuicyLips · 11/10/2010 11:27

Hey EasyEggs nice to hear from you again!

SirBoob I agree with the others about the age gap thing, it doesn't matter. My friend had a little brother when she was 14 and she loved it, (being a big sister that is, wasn't calling her baby brother an 'it'!). She was brilliant with him too. Again, it is whatever is right for you.

Hello greaterfence Lovely to see you back!

Just quickly dropping in. Had a hectic weekend. My friend got married and I was a bridesmaid. Had a wonderful day. Felt lovely being dressed up and having a part to play in the day. Feeling really tired and my feet are still sore from the high heels.

Can't believe my little one will be turning 1 this month!

SirB I second everything that's already been said, how bloody rude of her to say that!! Angry

It's makes not a ounce of difference when and even IF you want to expand your brood.

I know people with a 9year gap and then me at the other end with mine all fairly close together. All the children involved are all fine if you ask me Grin

You should have pointed out it's the parenting involved not the timescale of having them that determines how the children will live and learn Wink

tigger32 · 11/10/2010 15:48

Hello all, it's great to see lots of familiar names on here.
I'm feeling really sad that hen will be 1 soon and that's my baby days over!

Could someone please add Henry to the list 11/11. I'm using my iPod and have no idea how to copy. Thanks.

Sirboob ignore anyone who comments on your family like that, I know lots of people who have big age gaps and all their children seem perfectly fine to me, you just have to do what is right for you.

Hello all, lovely to see some old faces again! I was just reminiscing that I started maternity leave this time last year, only to find dd1 had chicken pox and I was housebound! The start of a very long 6 weeks' wait for Isla's arrival! And here she is, pulling herself up to standing this week and the cheekiest thing since dd1 Grin

I keep thinking about this time last year, too, Hobnob - the smell of autumn reminds me of being heavily pregnant, and very naive/unaware as to what was about to happen! With this pregnancy, I feel like I have none of that first-timer naivety and excitement, it's sad really, I feel sorry for this one!

This year has gone soooo quickly though... Doesn't seem five minutes since last Christmas...

Hi Ninja Grin Can't believe you remember all that lol.

Well it went amazingly my way woohooo!

We had the CAFCASS report done and they advised a "no contact order"

Went to court, had to be sat right near to him, yuck. But judge agreed with order and seeing as I was feeling generous I said he could have a school report once a year and one piece of work from each or them once a year too but with absolutely NO school details on any of it.

Turned out ok afterall, thank you for asking Smile
