Buckets, would you consider advertising for a mothers help on gumtree so you can stipulate hours/days to suit you? It's how we got ours.

Morning Tweakers, sounds like a lovely penultimate day before Pea arrives Smile

have had about 5hrs sleep & final touches before big delivery [meep] I don't know about anyone else but I think it's time Red, VG & Sazz finished their hols!

hotterpotter · 19/08/2010 08:15

Morning Dizzy, morning Buckets Smile

tweakers · 19/08/2010 08:28

hmm, why didn't my italics work?! very
i'm trying again!

morning hots, sounds like you need to stick some coffee inside you!

oh and buckets, surely if DH has to get the train then you can keep car and therefore seek work/nursery placements as necessary? not explaining this very well! what i mean is, surely he'd understand that its a pain for you to plan for when you haven't got the car and might therefore lose work when in fact, a bit of wind/rain/cold never hurt anyone and therefere getting train in the autumn/winter isn't such a bad thing. not sure i've explained it any better! the way you've described it, to him, the car would be a nice bonus when the weather's bad but for you, the car is more of a necessity because you're doing nursery drop-offs. hmm, think i managed to explain what i meant better that last time Grin

tweakers · 19/08/2010 08:32

ooh italics worked that time! how very strange!

dizz morning! i'm thinking what you're thinking Wink currently sitting on a towel...just in case!

and yes, i absolutely agree re the holidayers! they've had quite long enough!!!

i've got cousin and her little daughter coming for lunch today. the cunning plan is that i'm going to introduce her to the wonderful world of baby-wearing. Her DD hates being put in her cot, and cousin never gets a break so i'm really hoping a wrap will help her
hmm..... suspect i should have a quick practise now to make sure i can remember how to do it ok!

tweakers · 19/08/2010 08:33

its sooo sunny here today Grin

the sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray Grin

tweakers · 19/08/2010 08:35

i'm going to take me and my good mood off upstairs to dig out my wrap before i annoy you all too much!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 19/08/2010 09:33

Morning Tweaky, You sound as cheerful as me - except no sun here :)

MOrning HP - hope work is okay and your tiredness isn't too bad.

Dizzy - Do you realise it only 12 weeks since the idea and name of KnB was decided and look how much you have achieved in such a short period of time.

Buckets - Could you put up a note at the uni? There will be lots of penniless teaching students about soon looking forways to earn money.

Morning Everyone else :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

cyteen · 19/08/2010 10:54

Glad to hear you so chipper tweakers and oops :) I am not so much, as seem to have developed a horrible sinus infection and spent most of the last 12 hours shivering and aching (and moaning). Now tucked up in bed with antibiotics while DP takes DS out to the park.

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 12:13

Afternoon Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 12:26

Well, we are finally back home after our tour of Southern Ireland staying in Kerry, Cork and Tipperary. Had a lovely time, the girls were brilliant most of the time, and the birthday meetup on Sunday was bathed in beautiful sunshine Smile

DD2 managed to get croup on our second day, but was given steroids by the doc which seemed to perk her right back up. I thought she was past the infectious stage by the time we got to GardeniaCottage, but it appears not as VintageBoy has now caught it Sad. Very Blush we were the cause.

The hospitality from the Gardenia Crew was just wonderful Smile and DD2 and DD1 took to mamagardenia as their own Granny, demanding books, cuddles and help with dressing. The Redsters are just great and DD1 loved playing with MidiRedGirl and miniestRed was a gorgeous little dot Smile. The boys had a great time playing footie & hide & seek and we all managed to fit in some chat and a glass of wine Smile. I'm sure there are some photos although none courtesy of me Blush

Have caught up on the news and big hugs to No1, tweakers and dizz. You are all really strong women, but hopefully unloading on here gives a small outlet. Anything we can do please, please shout Smile

TS Glad K is enjoying school and for the record i would walk 5k rather than endure such a 'line up'

buckets glad you got your referral, and i hope that you can get help straight away for any hearing or other issues. Sorry to hear you are treading the uncertain path once again, but you are just wonderful in the way you deal with it Smile. Oh, and great news on the job, and i hear men's bikes are pretty reasonable on ebay Wink

TwilightSurfer · 19/08/2010 13:54

Crispy sounds fab glad you all had a good time.

DH and I off at stupid o'clock in the morning for our weekend away together. Am excited and nervous at the same time. Mum has a list of all the emergency and other contact numbers so fingers crossed DS will be ok.

Just found out that as I got an average of a distinction in all 4 of my papers I'm getting GBP500! Yay!

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 14:02

Hurrah, clever, clever springa. I think a lovely meal and bottle of bubbly are required on your celebratory, romantic break. Have a lovely time and try not to worry about DS too much. He'll have a great time with Granny Smile

Sorry for all the birthdays i missed BTWBlush

tweakers · 19/08/2010 16:47

hiya crispycrisp Grin really pleased you had such a lovely time. shame about the croup but these things can't be helped and i'm sure vg will forgive you eventually

yay!!! well done springaling!! that's brilliant news! hope you have a lovely trip

cyteen hope you're feeling lots better soon

cousin gone now, had lovely time with her and she loved having her DD in the wrap so i've sent her home with my one. oh no, this means i'll have to make another one for me...now if only i'd bought some fabric for one.... oh yes, silly me...i already have Grin
cousin is so sweet, bearing in mind she had a 5wk prem baby, lots of problems including kidney infections, baby had jaundice, mastitus etc etc etc she's fully established bf now!! but also, she's offered to come round to help once Pea's here! she reckons between us we'll manage all three of them! my suggestion is that we ship the LOs off to their respective grandmas and we go for a nice lunch together Grin

right, back to the cubes...

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 16:51

Hiya tweakers Grin. Well done you on your cunning wrap plan - a force to be reckoned with me thinks Grin

I have some good news, job people have asked me to do another job next week so i have just re-employed a cleaner. Hurrah!!

Best get back to the cleaning, otherwise she will take one look and scarper Hmm

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 16:52

Oh, and tip for the day, please make sure you all apply for a European Health Insurance card. DH and I had one, but i had never got round to doing it for the girls. Luckily the lovely Irish doctor took mine, but we could have had to pay. They are free and very quick to do Smile

tweakers · 19/08/2010 17:09

ah ha DS has already got one Grin (DH organised it when he was born!

crisp... bloody good to have you back old girl! its been far too quiet round here without you!!

well done on the job!

damn, i was meant to be cubing Blush

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/08/2010 17:13

Smartarse Wink. Well, MrTweaker (that is somehow wrong on many levels Hmm) anyway.

Missed you all too Grin

tweakers · 19/08/2010 17:14

exactly crisp...never would have happened left to me!

tweakers · 19/08/2010 17:15

right, stop distracting me! i'm off to make a cup of tea and get cracking on the next batch of cubes! if you see me here, tell me to bugger off!

tweakers · 19/08/2010 17:16

oh just a quick ps... DS was really lovely with cousin's DD today but, was a bit put out when my mum gave her a cuddle! didn't mind me holding her though which was good!

GladioliBuckets · 19/08/2010 17:22

Had 'interview' with new client, both DSs in tow LOL. She and her partner are professional puppeteers so DS1 steps through the door and announces to her that all puppets are scary. And can she make him an Astroboy puppet? First job before school starts will be..... a mailout!

Am going to pitch Dizzy's idea to DH tonight, that 3 days without a car is better than 5Grin. As I'm now officially a freelance arts administrator and therefore hot property apparently, I agree my 2 days car access is essential, even if I did get a childminder. Nobody uses the play/spare room so this weekend that is going to become my office/spare room - that will also help convince him I mean business.

I should really figure out my next life direction.

Congratulations to you all on your wonderful achievements.Smile

tweakers · 19/08/2010 17:47

i feel i had a rather (albeit a little confusing) case for you to have the car too buckets

i am sewing but i'm having a sip of tea so thought i'd check here Smile

TS you're going to be a pilates instructor aren't you? i hope so, because i'm planning on coming over there for my first lesson!

cyteen · 19/08/2010 17:48

Nice work Buckets! Goodness, you are all making me feel like quite the loser here, shivering in my pit and clad in sweaty pyjamas. Must - sort - life - out.
