HAPPY BIRTHDAY R

Loi was going to say much the same as Cyteen although she put it much more succinctly Wink

Dizzy it doesn't have to be abandoned does it can always be put on hold if that is still something that you want. Maybe that as the business takes off even more the opportunity presents itself again or your life takes a completely different turn - no one knows what is round the corner.

No1 hugs to you. Tweakers does indeed speak for us all when she says she wishes there was something we could do. Hotter has a good suggestion too if that would work. DS threw a wobbler yesterday as Mum tried to put him to bed as practice for this weekend. DS was all 'Mummy stay here' 'Mummy read story' so agree is probably just a phase but I'm sure you feel it more than we do because of the circs.

Buckets glad you got the referrals you wanted.

Tweakers no need to feel bad - they and we all have our off days.

We have bought a car - we went for a couple of test drives yesterday - remarkably they were fine considering I haven't driven for 4 years and have never driven an automatic before. Am quite excited. Plus only one more day at work before our little holiday just me and DH!

hotterpotter · 18/08/2010 06:50

Ooh springa yay for a car! And I forgot to say before but Well Done on your distinction Smile

Dizzy I think you are doing the right thing for now Smile You're still young enough to fit another one or two babies in once you are a millionaire baker, or even just got your business a bit more established. The rate you are going though I predict the former Grin

Buckets I am glad you have a sensible HV and good luck with K's referrals. Must be worrying, is it made any easier by having been through it once with DS1 or worse because you know the struggles ahead? Let us know when you're off and we'll all send positive vibes your way Smile

Better go, work time. Of course after a couple of weeks with no midnight wanderings DD chose today to wake at 4am and wake me up Hmm Couldn't get back to sleep very well so am a bit sleepy today. Oh well, there will be copious caffeinated beverages Grin

oopsandbabycoconuts · 18/08/2010 07:07

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINYSURFER HAve a wonderful day :)

Buckets - pleased you got K's referal, a decent HV is worth her weight in gold

Springs - ooh new car - how lovely, what did you get?

HP - enjoy work

Dizzy - HUGS, there is still time for number 4 when you are ready and the business is up and running with minions to help with your baking - you are only a young one!

luckoftheirish · 18/08/2010 07:33

Morning all

Happy Birthday R!!! Hope u have a very special day!!

springa well done on the new car Smile..

watcha oops good night from the girlies??

well pain is there and had trouble sleeping.. "h" worried about me so is taking matters into his own hands today.. wants me to go back to the docs and is sorting girlies for me, 6 months ago wouldn't have batted an eye lid!

luckoftheirish · 18/08/2010 07:34

oh forgot to say well done buckets for getting hv to listen hope you get the answers you need Smile

tweakers · 18/08/2010 08:30

loti i'm so pleased that h is doing what he's doing. you deserve more but its a bloody good start.

happy birthday little R
xxxxx

dizz what loti said! you are indeed superwoman and you can achieve whatever you put your mind too

sorry, hi to everyone

i am beyond tired. i feel today will be a bad parenting day. my mission is to walk to the postbox and post my dad's b'day card. DH commented that its only round the corner, saw the expression on my face and then quickly added 'but i appreciate it feels like climbing everest to you at the moment'

hotterpotter · 18/08/2010 08:57

Happy Birthday Surferette Grin

Lots of gossip at work, unsettling team stuff going on but thankfully not too many emails. Time for another coffee then will actually do some work and steal some pens

Have a lovely day all, good luck with your post box trek tweakers. It was walking that got my DD out Grin although sadly the trick did not work the second time with DS despite many miles clocked up in the attempt...

tweakers · 18/08/2010 09:13

i'm pretty sure it was walking that convinced DS out too

i know its daft but trying to avoid her being born tomorrow. its dad's b'day and i know mum will be upset if they share a b'day

so after tomorrow, Mission Tweaking commences!

springaporesling · 18/08/2010 09:59

Loti glad you will get to go to your appointment.

Tweakers hope the walking gets things moving!

Hots hope all ok on work front.

Oops it is a Mazda CX 7. Car market very weird here and this has good resale value.

luckoftheirish · 18/08/2010 11:48

got ultrasound for sat morning, "h" living up to the plate which is great Grin.. more tablets to wing down my neck.. i am absolutely sure it is nothing... my body has a funny thing with random pains Grin..

hope the walk is helping tweaky Smile

QueenofDreams · 18/08/2010 12:25

Hi everyone.

Happy Birthday minisurfer! Oh my, I can't believe most of our babies are two already!

DP's birthday today as well. I can't get him a present :( but am going to get a card and try bake him a cake. As usual his family are all expecting him to organise a do for his birthday - he told them he can't afford it, and it seems like the idea he is short of money may FINALLY be sinking in with his siblings. THey are doing him a barbecue on Sunday. They really are terrible - yes he used to have lots of disposable income, but they don't seem to grasp the fact that he is supporting a family now, so isn't rolling in spare cash like he used to be. Doesn't matter how many times he tells them, the message doesn't get through. I think MIL may have talked BIL into doing this for DP tbh, as at least SHE knows what it is like to struggle financially.

Ooh and step-FIL just called to say they're going to Mote Park, would I like them to take S. Perfect timing! I can go to the bank, go to Tescos and then bake a cake while he's out.

GladioliBuckets · 18/08/2010 15:55

Oh good work with the ultrasound appt Loti, you are allowed to be ill you know, it's not like you're making a fuss about nothing. Fingers crossed it's not gall bladder, my friend had hers removed this spring and the op has a long recovery period.

QOD Well done to your DP for standing his ground. Hope you get all your errands done.

Hots I'm fine about it now, I had my little mourning last week so I've settled to the fact he has special needs of some sort. Fingers crossed it is just something physical like a hearing impairment but if it's autism, then that's just who he is (and he is sooooo much easier than DS1 at this age so I'm hoping that's a good sign).

QueenofDreams · 18/08/2010 17:33

buckets got my fingers crossed for you, and K.

Didn't get all errands done, did manage to post off job application, and open a new bank account. In typical form the bank hadn't set up and account for me, so no wonder I didn't get anything through. They had all my personal details on file though Hmm Anyway am all sorted now thank goodness.
Also got underarms waxed, and popped to tescos. Have not baked a cake as I couldn't get a cake tin. Ah well, will now do a bit of tidying up methinks.

tweakers · 18/08/2010 19:59

evening all, just saving my spot for later Smile

cyteen · 18/08/2010 20:06

Hello all :) DS is on the mend, been full of beans today and hardly scratching at all. It helped that he slept in till 7.45am Shock Shock Shock

loti very VERY glad you've taken that appointment. No matter if it's nothing, the important thing is to know, not just to guess. Never take your health for granted.

dizzy at this time I'm minded to sing back some of your own fine advice: 'what's for you will not go by you'. The business, a new baby (or not), it is all very possible. You're not just young enough, you're strong and wise and awesome enough :) And re. your PIL, get DH to have a word with the useless fuckers about their offer. How incredibly rude they are. Angry for you.

tweakers · 18/08/2010 20:36

so pleased J's on the mend cyteen
your fb comment about courgettes made me smile!

cyteen · 18/08/2010 21:27

Urgh, please don't mention them Grin Even the courgette cake sitting in the fridge doesn't look that tempting. I will be having dreams about running amok in the courgette patch tonight.

tweakers · 18/08/2010 21:31

running amok in the courgettes? careful you don't make a cabbage patch kid Grin

hotterpotter · 18/08/2010 21:33

Have you tried courgette cous cous? Grate loads of courgettes and fry in olive oil with garlic then stir into prepared cous cous and squirt a bit of lemon juice. V yummy Smile

cyteen · 18/08/2010 21:55

If you can think it, I've tried it. Oh no hang on, that sounds a bit wrong.

Am forcing down some of the courgette cake now, it's pretty good.

dizzydixies · 18/08/2010 21:56

evening all - thank you all for lovely advice. I always did have eyes bigger than my stomach - now that seems impossible Blush

DH on late shift. Cakes all made. Taking 5 minutes to have a rest before starting on the cake pops - more fun when there are two of you but at least we won't be fighting over the hundreds & thousands Grin

GladioliBuckets · 18/08/2010 23:17

Forgot to say Dizzy you have plenty more time for a #4, just add it to the 40th birthday plans. And tell your ILs to hire themselves a car or come the week after - something you would have told them if they'd asked.

Is NCT newsletter week again (as you might have gathered from my FB status), just one more edition and I'm off the committee, yay. Also have to buy BF a new cafetiere and finish knitting cafetiere cosy for her birthday on Sat. Had also hoped to make her some brownies inspired by Kitschnbake (ie with actual chocolate and real butter shock horror) but not sure I'll have time.

Ooh more job news! Got new client interested in my admin services (work on hold for summer hols.) Not having much luck finding a CM though so far and no nursery in walking distance - I currently have the car but only because the weather's nice enough for DH to train+walk, he will totally wimp out come autumn.

tweakers · 19/08/2010 08:01

good morning all
i haven't read last few posts yet but just wanted to exclaim about how can this morning be so different from yesterday?!! i got the same amount of sleep but feel completely refreshed and really positive today! astoundingly lovely feeling Smile
DS is in a lovely mood, DH chirpy and chatty (very unlike him first thing in the morning)
I wish I could bottle it and share it amongst you all xx

hotterpotter · 19/08/2010 08:08

Oh please bung some over here Tweakers, am sitting at my desk with drooping eyes due to a slightly late night followed by two wakeups from DS Shock. Oh well, soon be Friday!
