The dust has almost settled. My assessment of how the BNP performed.

Ok, they didn't make the political breakthrough I'd hoped for, but if you look at the results they are actually very encouraging.

The BNP got 563,743 votes (dispite only fighting half of all the available 650 seats)

They got 10% of the vote. That is pretty amazing for a small party, and under proportional representation those votes would result in seats.

NC will merge with someone (eventually?) and as one of his main aims is to push through PR it's all good for the BNP.

What do these results mean for the BNP ?

The tripling of the BNP vote on May 6th has some important implications.

Firstly, where they went head to head with UKIP and the Greens they thrashed them, they overtook UKIP in 178 seats, and UKIP have far more money than the BNP, and of course UKIP and the Greens are favoured by the media.

Secondly, while all minority parties were pushed to the edge by the bigger parties, the BNP's vote not only help up, but proportionally increased when compared to their June 2009 Euro election results.

The BNP are here to stay, and although the election was a disappointment in some respests, it was a clear sign that 1000's of people up and down the country support the policies of the BNP.

And let's not forget, political pundits had all but written off the Labour party after they lost the 92'election....

They went on to win 3 elections.

Riven;

I am just giving my assessment of how I think the BNP performed, I know this is getting boring now, (even for me) but as I started a thread last week wishing them luck, I think it's only right that I come back and say.."ok, they didn't pull it off...but this is what they achieved"

And whatever way you wanna look at it, the BNP did very well.

Re; Beware the person who has nothing to lose...

That was a joke in reply to RB posting me a list of zeros... believe it or not, I have a sense of humour and don't take myself too seriously.

Plus, the Liberals performance was pretty awful...didn't they do worse than they did in 2005?
...and look at all the money they had for the election campaign

Actually when you look at Lord Voldemorts policies some of them make sense.
And none of the other major parties are even prepared to talk about the whole mudblood issue

I'm just curious, dp , but how are you going to reconcile your views with working in local government. You know the jobs were you sign an anti-discriminatorty code of conduct because you are working with and for all the people in your locality; not just the ones that you personally approve of.

Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:33

"And whatever way you wanna look at it, the BNP did very well."

lololol. you've got to give this up. they did BADLY.

and there was a one per cent swing to the lib dems compared to the last election, so no, you're wrong again. that they got fewer seats despite this it precisely why they want electoral reform.

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 09:36

Riven, I do not spout crap..I have posted statistical evidence of how well the BNP did...

This is a very exciting time for British politics...don't you agree..?

The Liberals have teamed up with the Tories so no one will ever vote Liberal again, the Libdems are history...so, it's even more important that we get PR as we are now back to 2 party politics...the smaller parties need to get a look in...

OP posts:
daftpunk · 12/05/2010 09:37

Pagwatch...you make me laugh

OP posts:
Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:38

oh and as for this...
"as I started a thread last week wishing them luck, I think it's only right that I come back and say.."ok, they didn't pull it off...but this is what they achieved" "

i think what you meant to say was 'having trolled about this last week and raised a shitstorm, i saw an opportunity to do the same thing again because it's how i get my kicks'.

and it's only because you are wrong on so many counts, not just ideologically, that's a given, but the fact that your analysis is so riddled with errors, that people continue to feed the troll...

Aitch..the Liberals were thrashed.

If you took the Liberals and the BNP and did some calculations on how they performed, taking everything into account, the BNP probably did better...

SirBoobAlot · 12/05/2010 09:41

@ Pag!

I'm amazed MNHQ have allowed a thread based around a such a party of xenophobic morons to continue. AGAIN. A rather serious flaw...

Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:42

you HAVEN'T posted statistical evidence of how well they did. stats is the maths of interpreting collected numbers, your interpretation is wildly incorrect. remember, you started this thread under the impression that your party had collected 10% of the vote. your whole line is nonsense.

Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:45

what does that mean, 'thrashed'? that they didn't do as well as they'd hoped? of course they didn't. no question about it.

by the same token, of course, so were the BNP thrashed. you can't deny it.

SirBoobAlot · 12/05/2010 09:47

I perchance would have taken your statistics with a slightly small pinch of salt if you hadn't stated that only 1% of Nazi BNP voters were racist. That's utter bollocks. There is wanting to sort out the immigration system, and then there is being racists. You are sadly mistaken if you honestly thing the BNP fall into the fore-mentioned of the two.

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 09:47

I have made one typing error...and that was the 10% one...I have admitted that, I am not perfect, NC was plucking stats out of the air before the election, he didn't have a clue..and he was running for PM..

I doubt if all the worlds problems would have been cured if I'd typed 1.9% instead of 10%....I dunno...maybe they would have..

OP posts:
runnybottom · 12/05/2010 09:47

The liberals are in government you tool, while your party lost 200k in deposits.
Yet you think the bnp did well and the libdems crap. Is the sky pink on your planet?

Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:50

it wasn't a typing error, lol, you really thought they got ten per cent of the vote, lololol. hahaha. tough shit, eh? it's actually 1.9% of our population who are thick racists, it turns out.

Aitch · 12/05/2010 09:52

i know runnybottom, it's hysterical, isn't it? nick clegg is actually in power while nick griffin took a spanking, but somehow he did worse? she'd argue black is white if she wasn't so racist.

TheSteelFairy2 · 12/05/2010 09:53

DP, if you live in S.London - a very ethnically diverse area, I should imagine, would you be happy to go express your views on the street to paasers by or do you only do it on faceless forums? Perhaps when you do get your job in local government (v,v strong polices with regard to discriminating against race and disabilities within these organisations btw) you could maybe express your views to your work colleagues and see what happens.

The more I read your disgusting threads, the more I see that they take a similar form every time. You start a thread being oh so innocent, get everyone worked up and then play the victim, every single time. What really bugs me is the way that some seem to see you as a bit of a MN character.

You are not a "character" you are a disgusting racist/disablist and as the mother of a disabled child I will not ALLOW you to post without responding. I can't ignore you. Although tbh your actual views are so ludicrous and ignorant that I can't even be arsed to address them, there is no hope for you, people like you don't change. I do wonder though what you would have done had one of your children been born with a disability?

No why don't you fuck off and let me MN without ever having to see your name appear on a post again, you won't but my goodness I wish you would.

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 09:53

Aitch..look at how much exposure the Liberals had fgs, look at the money they have, compare them to a party like the BNP and their performance was awful...the BNP haven't got alot of money, their computer system is 20 yrs out of date, they haven't got spin doctors all over the place...they have the media against them everywhere they turn...but dispite all that, they still got well over 500,000 votes, and under a PR system that result would have been brilliant for them.

OP posts:
smallishsheep · 12/05/2010 09:56

Dp, your ignorance and stupidity scare the hell out of me

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 09:57

I have now admitted 5 times 10% was incorrect, I am well aware that the BNP didn't get 10% of the vote (sadly)...but if you want to keep going on about it Aitch...then you carry on..

OP posts:
runnybottom · 12/05/2010 09:57

If my aunt had bollocks she'd be my uncle, and if you had another brain cell it would be lonely.
If nothing. You lost. Bigtime. Boo hoo, poor auld nazis just can't get a break can you?

SirBoobAlot · 12/05/2010 09:57

They don't need spin doctors - their policies are spun well enough by themselves.

I hope to dear Christ they don't bring in PR. I live now in fear of utter fucking idiots like you having a say in the running of this country. You're a God-damned fool if you think you would be better off under the BNP.

ladylush · 12/05/2010 09:58

someguy oh I see what you mean (re bedroom terrorists). Yes, agree - not at all funny. David Copeland almost certainly had a severe personality disorder (an affliction I am sure he shares with many of his sympathisers) and sexuality issues to boot. It is frightening to think of such people in our midst. It is also frightening to think of racist people running for local government.
dp you had a whole week to summarise your party's performance and you still got it wrong. You haven't got a shred of credibility and your canvassing for the BNP is about as shoddy and ill-conceived as the party's own election campaign.
