May be best option is for LD to hold Tories to ransom over really key Lib issues - PR, etc - hold firm line and sit tight, watching Tories tear themselves apart. Unity under DC is not what it seems, I think.

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 15:14

I'd kind of like the Tories to take the blame for the hideousness of the next 4 years, but am quite scared about the number who will be hurt in the process.

That's why I am not completely against a lib-con coalition - it would mean that DC would have to shoulder the blame for the worst, while preventing him from squandering money on IHT cuts and (hopefully) protecting the poorest.

wubblybubbly · 07/05/2010 15:14

They type with one finger 'cos they're all ham fisted - boom, boom

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 07/05/2010 15:14

I am flagging now - after going to bed at 1am and waking up again at 4.30am to watch the whole thing unfold - and getting cranky. Fucking Cameron. Bloody Clegg. etc

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 15:16

bollocks - two Tory gains.

Amber Valley from labour and Morecambe Lunesdale

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 07/05/2010 15:17

I have also been a bit shocked/disappointed by how low the Green vote seems to have been.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/05/2010 15:18

Geraldine Smith out - blimey!

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 15:18

(Amber valley - the man in the hat. I have been loving these loony characters)

HamShine · 07/05/2010 15:18

Lenin - what wouldn't happen with PR?

PollyTicks · 07/05/2010 15:18

Feel sorry for Geraldine Smith.

PollyTicks · 07/05/2010 15:19
caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 15:19

The Green votes have been sooooo much lower than I expected

auberginesrus · 07/05/2010 15:20

I feel sorry for Geraldine Smith too

Wish Cleggy would hurry up and do his speech, I want to go for a quick kip while DH does school run and swimming lesson [yawn]

theyoungvisiter · 07/05/2010 15:21

the green vote has been low but I think that's because people went tribal in the face of a real threat.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/05/2010 15:22

hahhaah pollyticks

me too

I think in fact it's early enough to open some wine...

I am child free until Sunday and had less than two hours sleep..it'a my duty

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 07/05/2010 15:22

I think you're probably right, tyv - but also a lot lower than the UKIP/BNP vote which is also concerning

yes but UKIP/BNP always benefit from economic hardship because people start looking over their shoulder more.

Green the reverse, is my impression.
