Is Nick making an announcement?

Will I get any sleep today?

Bad timing guys.

onebatmother · 07/05/2010 14:54

What I mean is that if he stands to one side and says 'let them govern',(I tries to keep himself unblemished by a formal Tory association bcs it's not worth it to him unless the T's offer PR) the effect will be the same as if he goes into formal coalition: Tories.

Am v tired, not making much sense am I?

nearlytoolate · 07/05/2010 14:55

Is anyone else assuming that this has already been ok'ed between Lib and Tory before they announced this?

ImSoNotTelling · 07/05/2010 14:55

oh god it's like waiting for a bloke to ring after a date

how long til the LDs respond I wonder

GB wants referendum and then another election though, is that right? i missed his speech

Ninjacat · 07/05/2010 14:55

Can we have a mass chant of "Shame on you" if Clegg goes for this?

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 14:56

Who is that Tory Twat? Suddenly he is for electoral reform. Oh really?

nearlytoolate · 07/05/2010 14:56

Cameron is clearly wanting LIbDems hobbled by being bound in to govnt. It neutralises the opposition, isolates Labour.

onebatmother · 07/05/2010 14:56

"Support us and we'll let you choose the fucking biscuits?" haha wubbly

or 'I will give you a cushion to lean on while I fuck you up the arse'.

Sorry

onebat

jennylindinha · 07/05/2010 14:58

onebat - I almost spat my wine out over the laptop!

motherinferior · 07/05/2010 14:58

I suppose at least if Cleggy goes for it, the sham of the so-called alternative will be exposed

Disenchanted3 · 07/05/2010 14:59

I think its already done.

DC wouldn't come out and say 'we want you' and risk public humiliation through rejection

CatIsSleepy · 07/05/2010 14:59

obm it would be much harder for the tories to govern without a formal coalition surely?

think Clegg will be putting off alot of future voters if he sells his party out for these meagre pickings. I would actually have much more respect for him if he tells dave where to stick it.

HalfTermHero · 07/05/2010 14:59

God, I hope NC will respect the school run timings and hold off his speech until at least 3.45pm. Off now. Gutted that I may miss something crucial .

nearlytoolate · 07/05/2010 14:59

But that is cold comfort. Who wants to be a labour minority for ever?

motherinferior · 07/05/2010 14:59

Christ, suddenly Alastair Campbell looks shiny and new

jennylindinha · 07/05/2010 15:00

Alistair Campbell looking a bit rough now, eh? Could get the weekly shop in them bags.

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 15:01

Some comments from Twitter

Awww it's so sweet that #Cameron makes all these promises to #Clegg & the #Liberals before he conveniently seduces and abandons them all...

RT @AdamBienkov: Cameron's offer to Clegg: 1. Carry out our manifesto as planned 2. fob you off with some inquiry or other #hungparliament

RT @heg: cameron to clegg: look into my eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around my eyes, look into my eyes, you're under...

onebatmother · 07/05/2010 15:01

Yes it really would CatisSleepy - but I think that it's being touted as a possibility isn't it?

nearlytoolate · 07/05/2010 15:01

On the radio DC's tone is like some kind of listen with mother - soooo patronising.

NorkilyChallenged · 07/05/2010 15:01

Haha, anyone seen the Morecambe and Wise style photo on BBC homepage just now? Funny.

Have taken to eating cocktail sausages in an attempt to deal with tension.

ImSoNotTelling · 07/05/2010 15:02

Surely if the tories were in but with the lib dems, the lib dems could shackle their worst excesses. amd negotiate for a better deal before agreeing it?

i am naive and too optimistic aren't I

CatIsSleepy · 07/05/2010 15:03

have voted LD in past in various council and London Assembly elections in the paste- can safely say I would never do so again if they go for some shitty deal with ole ham-face
