Find out how powerful your vote is compared to the UK average

I live in a safe seat, my vote is worthless.

NoahAndTheWhale · 09/04/2010 12:23

Before I do it I know mine is worthless. But will check anyway

Mongolia · 09/04/2010 12:25

cool, now i know my vote is worth...

just half of a vote....

Molesworth · 09/04/2010 12:26

That is a cool website: thanks for posting about it cat

NoahAndTheWhale · 09/04/2010 12:26

My average power is 0.077. Very safe seat.

Ranked 446 out of 650

Katisha · 09/04/2010 12:27

I am in a very safe seat but will vote anyway. I always kind of feel I owe it to the suffragettes apart from anything else.

IMoveTheStars · 09/04/2010 12:27

0.253 - can you guess who our MP is?

IMoveTheStars · 09/04/2010 12:29

didn't mean to hit send then

We're 499 apparently, pretty safe tory seat

catinthehat2 · 09/04/2010 12:29

possibly the same as mine as your vote worth is equally crappy!

OP posts:
Prosecco · 09/04/2010 12:30

0.017

ultra safe

NoahAndTheWhale · 09/04/2010 12:30

I guessed where you are . Would be a bit of a problem if that seat changed hands I would say.

NoahAndTheWhale · 09/04/2010 12:31

That was to Jareth btw

catinthehat2 · 09/04/2010 12:31

actually Jareth, 0.253 is UK average, mine is in fact .082 when I put my specs on, sorry

But that's in a normal election - this could be the kind of election that gives us lots of Portillo moments because people are so annoyed with the government that lots of previous Labour supporters might switch or spoil their vote.

Home educators are all hoping that Ed Balls in his nice safe seat has one

Prosecco · 09/04/2010 12:31

595 out of 650!

iloveasylumseekers · 09/04/2010 12:35

ultra safe tory seat

IMoveTheStars · 09/04/2010 12:36

Yes, I know - I'm a muppet and read the page wrong!!

I have the equivalent of 0.051 of a vote!!

Noah can't imagine that ever happening round these parts though, people would be v unimpressed

oricella · 09/04/2010 12:37

0.012 doesn't get much safer than that..

Not allowed to vote here though, and will be voting elsewhere the month after, as I know that with PR my vote WILL actually count, regardless of where I live

scrappydappydoo · 09/04/2010 12:38

Very low - 0.028! Ultra safe
Not sure if I'll bother now... on the fence anyway...

Nemain · 09/04/2010 12:38

We are ranked #50 out of 650 and I have vote power of 0.778.

"Voters in [my town] have 3.08x more voting power than the UK average."

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 09/04/2010 12:39

Our MP only has a 'fairly safe' seat so fingers crossed!

Rindercella · 09/04/2010 12:40

Another ultra-safe Tory seat here - 378th out of 650. How come so many of us live in safe Tory seats?

Nemain · 09/04/2010 12:42

Also I found out recently that my town is a so-called 'weathervane constituency' and we have backed the winning Party at every General Election since 1964.

wastwinsetandpearls · 09/04/2010 12:43

I am in a fairly safe tory seat, is is between them and the lib dems.
