This is an odd post. Why would anyone be sued?
Ben Delo
"has always been propelled by his commitment to rationalism, intellectual honesty and frank, open debate. Following the extraordinary success of BitMEX, he started to give his money away guided by these rationalist principles."

Surely you'd expect to be paid, not sued.

To be fair, we've seen from the conference that Reform party supporters are only passionate about free speech until someone uses it to criticise them. Then, they find that they would prefer to silence people. Using violence if necessary.

EEexpat · 12/09/2026 16:01

@Warmlight1

What does Farage, or the Reform Party, have that could be of interest to two people who are billionaires? Reform Party has a mere 5 seats in Parliament. Hence they could never swing a vote.

@BrandiedAromatics

for all its shortcomings, to have this interference by ex-pats.

As a UK citizen with voting rights and pays UK tax on UK source income, I am entitled to have a say.

SabrinaThwaite · 12/09/2026 20:05

Apropos of nothing, the FCA is set to regulate crapto much more thoroughly from October 2027.

SabrinaThwaite · 12/09/2026 20:12

OK, will rephrase this as the link had a trigger word in it (archive link is of FCA press release):

Apropos of nothing, the FCA will be regulating a certain type of currency much more stringently from October 2027.

Can't that be brought forward? Just seems a very long time

Warmlight1 · 12/09/2026 21:42

@EEexpat A certain amount of political pressure?
The ability to help sway markets at crucial times?
What might to the billionaires, look like the potential to influence.
I think that the impression from outside with all these balaclavas, and the doubling down on the assaults, can give a false sense of ability to the funding network, who do not live here. . Or maybe it's just the fact that Farage can organise distractions and cover tracks. Noise in other words.
It puzzles me because quite a bit of the propaganda aimed at the UK doesn't really fit the UK.
I can see what he's getting from it. A path to a very comfortable retirement.
@EEexpat What do you think they think he can bring?

pointythings · Yesterday 08:50

If Farage makes it to number 10 (he won't) what he can bring is an environment where corruption flourishes and where only ordinary working people have to do things like pay taxes. An environment where employers can fire and rehire at will, and exercise their racist and sexist views if any to make sure certain classes of people don't get jobs. It'll be great for the arseholes of the world. Als look forward to unlimited sewage dumping freedoms, because who needs clean rivers anyway?

Oh, and rabid nationalism. Mandatory national anthem singing in schools.

Dystopia beckons.

Farage is making the main parties aware that people are dissatisfied with the constant failure to control immigration. Both Conservatives and Labour have promised for decades that immigration would be measured in 10s of thousands. It’s measured in 100s of thousands.

ECHR guidelines, which were set up after WW2, are being abused. EU members such as:

Italy, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland

Are pushing for reforms to the ECHR.

But there's nothing stopping them getting together and amending bits of it. It's a convention.
Actually isn't reform advocating coming out of it?

Do you find it strange that the highest migration figures were when Suella Braverman and Robert Jenrick were in government. They were even the top two in the Home Office.

It would be wilfully ignorant not to acknowledge that they were an integral part of the highest legal and illegal figures. Imagine them at the top of Reform UK.

Starmer's co-operative attitude with Europe, and specifically Macron, has greatly reduced the figures.

EEexpat · Yesterday 09:08

@pointythings

Farage is very unlikely to become PM due to the FPTP electoral system. Look at what happened in 2024.

Labour 34% of votes, but 63% of seats (412)
Reform 14% of voted, but 5 seats

He may become a deputy PM in a coalition.

Corruption has been around since time began. MP expenses scandal. Cameron and Osbourne prompting Obama to say UK would be at the back of the queue for a deal with the US.

Those with wealth can afford the best tax lawyers and accountants to minimise their tax liabilities. Alternatively, they leave the UK and the Government receives less tax. A good example is Chris Rokus. Even Tony Blair said taxing the wealthy is not a good idea.

Working inside IR35 on fixed term contracts is becoming the norm. To the hire and fire is already in the UK.

EEexpat · Yesterday 09:33

@BrandiedAromatics

Both Braverman and Jenerick were in government in 2022/2023. The time when there was increased immigration due to:

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

Launch of Hong Kong British Overseas national visa.

Boat crossings have reduced in recent months, but they are still greater than that before Labour won in 2024. Link is:

https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/people-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats/

So, I would say your attempt to say that cooperation the EU has reduced immigration fails. Never forget that UK ranks fifth for immigration behind, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. So, being in the EU guarantees lower immigration also fails.

Ahh right. So these donations to a political party private company are actually a public service "for the greater good" ? It's just to educate the masses ?

Ohh, and now you are throwing the ECHR into the pot, with a claim, with no evidence to back it up. That people, or States, want changes made to something is totally normal. That is how things are supposed to work. So I do not see why you tagged that on.

Did Ukrainians and HK folk use small boats to get the UK ? If so, that is a long row, esp from HK. Why not just fly. They had documents after all.

Do you use the small boats when you visit the UK.

BrandiedAromatics · Yesterday 10:12

@EEexpat Your charts have not contradicted what I posted above. It isn't my take on things anyway that matters - Farage blamed the Tories. My point is that the enforcers of the policies included Braverman and Jenrick. Maybe he should disown them easily, just like Jukes, they are a liability

What is the Boriswave? Nigel Farage pledges to tackle indefinite leave to remain | The Standard

RedTagAlan · Yesterday 10:42

Yeah. From the first link there

"European nations have progressively been tightening their asylum and immigration laws in recent years, but to do so further might require a change to the regulations governed by the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Now several EU nations, as well as the UK are beginning to put forward proposals towards how that might be done.
Several EU members in recent months have repeatedly voiced a desire to change — or at the very least — reinterpret certain guidelines pertaining to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) so they can adapt their own national laws in ways that would allow them to further restrict asylum and implement related immigration controls."

Now see the claim you made upthread. Quote

"ECHR guidelines, which were set up after WW2, are being abused. EU members such as:"

ARE BEING ABUSED. That was your claim, or interpretation.

So you are CHANGING what has been said, potentially. But I am not going to dig in to find what those Governments want changed and why. Or to see if they used the term ARE BEING ABUSED. Because that is your claim, and up to you to evidence.

Small boats have nothing to do with Reform's donations and failure to declare/scrutinise them.

But it's all their supporters have.

Well. Apart from all those fantastic policies in their manifesto of course. And yes, I have read it. Both pages :-)

I jest about both pages of course. But yeah. If anyone want's to try trickledown economics YET AGAIN and hope it works this time.... vote reform.

Remove all regulations, let some people get stinking rich, and everything else will fix itself because the stinking rich will employ thousands of people to cut their grass and wash their fleets of cars/yachts.

And what is Farage doing with all this money ?

UK peak immigration figures occurred in 2023. Just like they did in Germany.

So, the more people enter the EU via the Mediterranean Sea and the Eastern European border (neither of which can be controlled by the UK), the more that will end up in Calais.

So, until the EU gets their borders under control, there will always be boat crossings from Calais to the UK. It’s simple to explain.

You are remarkably well informed about the nature of a secret donation received by Nigel Farage from the Saudis.
Care to enlighten us how you know - that someone gave Nigel Farage / reform donations in Saudi Arabia with no strings attached at all-
Makes a bit more sense though why Reform would project misogyny.
Perhaps those donor's expect confidentiality, and that he will have women'sspeech under control?.
Perhaps that looks like strength to them?
Because it's very strange that woman was let into the conference to protest a second time. And the fact he had a staged response with slides, and quips about her having a sociology degree.

DuncinToffee · Yesterday 11:50

Glad it is simple to explain @EEexpat

Now why is it so difficult for a seasoned politician as Farage to properly declare donations, especially as it is as simple as filling in a piece of paper

Edited

His speech was delayed for about 30 minutes, plenty of time to produce some slides and quips.
