Quite the derailment going on.

I realise there are no other updates on the investigations.

Quite and the same culprits making things up to suit their narrative. Disgraceful really.

Oh sorry forgot we are meant to slag Reform off?

Terribly sorry 😂😂😂😂😂

DuncinToffee · 28/09/2026 16:52

I have not seen anyone making things up.

Unless you mean Farage
But then you haven't seen the Channel4 footage

Oh yes I have been accused of lying, called an untrammelled capitalist? Also no don’t mean Farage, why would I? Actually watched the footage last evening, still no interest in it, he will be investigated and if any wrong doing with be dealt with correctly. Same as all the other parties should be or not.

If you think you were targeted, please report to MN

Have no idea about bus fare in China as we don’t use public transport when we visit.

Think you maybe on a bit of a conspiracy there Red. Never read anywhere that Farage wants to sell off the NHS, in fact just a point, Burnham signed off the privatisation of Hinchingbrooke Hospital when he was health secretary.

Conspiracy ? What conspiracy ?

Why do Reform voters just keep putting out sound bites that mean nothing. ?

Oh, I noticed I made an error in my bus thing. Not 20p to buffet, A tiny fraction of that. Ans multiply it by billions.

Ah wait. Because I mentioned Buffet ? Is that why you think conspiracy ? Gosh. I mentioned him, because at the time he owned a chunk of BYD. He has since sold it. My point was that that small bit is lost to the system. That is all, and I happen to remember at the time, that it was Buffet it was lost to. It might have been Ford or Toyota. Makes no difference. I am talking about the system. not individuals.

Goodness me.

@blossomtoes

Down is still down. By 42% in this instance.

As pointed out by Helen Whatley on BBC Question Time 24 September 2026, boat arrivals are down across Europe. So, the following logic still stands:

Fewer Mediterranean crossings equals fewer people entering the EU.

Fewer people entering the EU equals fewer people arriving in Calais.

Fewer people arriving in Calais equals fewer boat arrivals in the UK

Fewer boat arrivals is of course good. However, but it’s due to fewer people crossing the Mediterranean Sea rather anything that has been done by France or UK.

Think you will find they are controlled by the state: OFWAT set price limits, monitor performance and supposedly enforce rules. OFGEM sets the price cap every 3 months.

Then they’re not set. They’re capped. If they were set no utility company would be allowed to undercut the others and the current price war wouldn’t exist.

I don’t care what opposition politicians say. She certainly wouldn’t be saying that if the Tories were in power, they’d be shouting the decrease in numbers from the rooftops.

I said set price limit as stated on OFWAT website, maybe check it? Although OFGEM say cap. So no need to be pedantic.

Aw Red, don’t get in a tiz. Farage never had shares in BYD, checked it on full fact, they say no! Although to be honest couldn’t care less.

Nope to Buffet as well I am afraid. Actually as a side note, we previously supplied Ashton Martin who were then bought out by Ford.

The conspiracy is Farage selling off the NHS? Think he has discussed more of an insurance plan based on a European model. The German Model is very very good, used it a few times actually. The NHS in its current form is not working.

Dont go down that rabbit hole please and another please, where do you get I am a Reform voter? Never voted Reform in my life! Very amusing.

Farage and his boat.

Remember this bit from the Mirror

"The Reform UK leader bragged in April that he was the only MP "that has a financial stake in the commercial fishing industry" - revealing he owns a commercial boat with a skipper. But there is no mention of this in his register of interests."

In an interview with GB News, Mr Farage said he was “heavily invested” in fishing. He told the network - which employs him to host a weekday show: “I’m the only member of Parliament that has a financial stake in the commercial fishing industry… I own a commercial fishing boat… I have a skipper who runs that boat.”'

Note the bit in bold. He owns a commercial fishing boat, and has a skipper running it. He said that on GB news, no doubt to show why he is an expert on that industry.

And that led to a complaint.... and here is... the result of the investigation that was kicked off... by what Farage claimed.

Select Committee Report (parliament.uk)

The complaint was - NOT UPHELD

And why was it not upheld?. Paragraph 30 of the summary.

"Having considered this information, I have concluded that the complaint is not upheld. The reason for my decision is that, for the purposes of the Register of Member's Financial Interests, the commercial fishing vessel is an asset of Thorn In The Side Limited and not of Mr Farage personally, despite his comments on GB News. Therefore, it is not a registrable interest."

He exaggerated. For some reason the boat is owned by a company Farage owns, but Farage takes no income from it, makes no money from it... because it is his son that runs the boat.

The company Farage owns that owns the boat is called "Thorn In The Side Limited"

And for those who know about accounts and all that (I don't), here is the public domain companies house link -

THORN IN THE SIDE LIMITED overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK (company-information.service.gov.uk)

From the last accounts submitted in May 2025, it has an average number of employees of, 1. ONE. So I assume that must be the son ?

Plant and machinery assets of 91660 GBP, Land and buildings 1,319,776 GBP.

There is also a lease in the accounts for a studio. 10k a year. I think that might to used to take photos of the fish ?

Take photos of the fish? Grin

I think the studio must have been used for Farage's media work and cameos.

The employee could be an admin person.

The Times took a look at Farage’s ‘studio’:

https://archive.ph/oXW2Y

Nigel Farage is paying himself £50,000 in rent for a studio space at one of his own properties in an arrangement that falls outside parliament’s transparency rules and could allow him to lower his tax bill, The Times can reveal.

Analysis of the accounts of Farage’s personal service company, Thorn in the Side Ltd, shows that in May last year it agreed to pay Farage £10,000 a year over the next five years for the “rental of studio premises”.

If the rental payment was 1p more a year, it would breach the threshold requiring a declaration to the register of members’ interests.

Small boat crossings are down and that doesn't suit Farage's narrative. He looked a bit like an idiot with his Fairford speculations.

Why? Wasn’t one of the Brexit plans to reduce immigration?

Remain supporters can’t make their minds up. Not long ago they were saying that Brexit had failed as boat crossings had increased. Now they are excited about boat crossings declining.

DuncinToffee · 29/09/2026 09:52

Less people making the dangerous crossings means less people drowning.

Watch BB Question Time 5 December 2024. Farage stated genuine refugees are welcome. Also, both Alastair Campbell and Nigel Farage agreed that immigrants were acceptable if they are working.

DuncinToffee · 29/09/2026 10:42

Ah yes, the good and bad immigrants. I have had that one, 'oh we don't mean you'

Probably the reason why you use 'expat'

Small boat crossings were not a thing in 2016 but Farage made it very clear with his poster which immigrants he was targetting.

Bit like they saying they want to protect women and girls but not the female heckler(s)

This poster. No white Europeans there even though they formed the majority of immigrants at the time.

Small boat crossings were not a thing in 2016

Heard that one before too. The first boat crossing into the UK was in 2014. Two years before the 2016 referendum.

First boat crossings in the Mediterranean Sea were in the mid 1990s. 14 years before article 50 was passed in 2009.

The fact remains:

Zero migrants entering the EU equals zero migrants arriving in Calais.

Zero arrivals in Calais equals zero boat arrivals in the UK.

Is the UK responsible for the EU failure to control their borders in the Mediterranean Sea and Eastern Europe? No, they aren’t.

UK failure, as pointed out by The French president, Macron, is not reducing the pull factors.

A group of people, many wearing life jackets, are on a small boat off the coast, with two others trying to climb aboard.

Not in a tiz about anything. Here we are having a friendly chat as a diverse group, wee stories here and there... and you say I am somehow in a tiz and doing conspiricies.

Hey, each to their own.

EEexpat · 29/09/2026 18:13

@blossomtoes

People shifted from entering the UK via ferries and lorries to boats as security checks for ferries and lorries increased.

Illegals will always enter the UK for the following reasons:

It’s profitable for the gangs.

UK employers can employ them illegally and pay cash in hand below the minimum wage.

As Macron has said, UK needs to reduce the pull factors.

RedTagAlan · 29/09/2026 18:57

I thought this was interesting. Given the discussions above about James Orr etc, and the Evangelical money being poured into Reform, and maybe Restore.

Yes, Farage is not keen on Danny Tommo , sort of.. I think... but he supports the demonstrations. Seems complex.

But here is Danny turning up in court, for slashing a boat... and he has a Bible in hand.

Danny Tommo clutches Bible in court appearance as he's refused bail | News UK | Metro News

They are all playing the Christian angle. Lowe is more strongly into that than Farage, but it is the money that counts. And Farage likes the money.

For anyone that does not click the link, I have attached a clipped photo from it. Credit Elizabeth Cook. Drawn a few days ago in another court hearing... and THE TEARS... THE TEARS.

Now, with the terror attack diesel theft (maybe)the other day, and having read the bonkers thread on that, it got me pondering. How do Reform define the Venn diagram of flat out racists, overlapping with the OT evangelicals, the pro trickle down advovates... and the "Plonkers" ? What circles do they prioritize and target to get their votes ?

Seems to me, IMO, hence anecdotally, they go for the plonkers. Because there are some of them in every circle.
