I'm no fan of Kemi Badenoch, but I'm even less of a fan of Robert Jenrick, and I'm rather delighted to see that she has sacked him and withdrawn the whip before he could jump to Reform.

She has definitely had the last laugh here. He must be spitting bullets!!

Nice try!

Im sorry. What do you mean? Have a reread. Im not the one who announced to MN about the second story. Ive never heard that before.

Maybe its the leftwingers that peddle in this sort of thing rather than the right?

She should probably delete it TBF

TeenagersAngst · 18/01/2026 09:05

But just to be clear, you’re saying that if the Tories hasn’t supported Trump he wouldn’t be in office now?

Dragonflytamer · 18/01/2026 09:06

Hollybollyhughes · 17/01/2026 20:47

Thatcher if I recall, sold off utility companies so they apparently created profit, but not for consumers but share holders of water, electric, gas etc. End of manufacturing in this country too. Decimated communities and lives and they haven't recovered. Levelling up, cheers Boris for absolutely f all. If you remember the failure of governments under Labour and never the positives then this might help.

Austerity wasn't we're in this together Cameron was it? More like your communities will struggle to recover but I couldn't care less, May, Truss, Johnson and the Tory in waiting Farage. I encountered him once when he was leader of Ukip, nasty, cruel man. Cheer up eh, things can only get better.

Yet somehow Starmer's found a way to make it worse! Tax jobs drive up unemployment, increase barriers to small businesses to recruit, give up on trying to cut welfare, the national debt up 10% in just 18 months to fund give aways to public sector workers.

BIossomtoes · 18/01/2026 09:12

What giveaways to public services (which we all benefit from)? Apart from settling the junior doctors’ strikes - which had the approval of the majority of the population - what giveaways have there been? After 14 years of starvation our public services are on their knees. Even Jenrick is now admitting the Tories broke Britain.

Yep I’m not sure why that falls on you since you didn’t mention it.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2026 09:23

I just cannot think what benefit it would be to Jenrick to now slag off the Tories! 🤔

Loving the 'whataboutery' accusations on this thread when, if the tables were turned and this was about Labour, there would be Tory whataboutery all over the shop! Hilarious.

Ha ha. You shouldn't really need to ask that. They didn't settle the junior doctors strikes. They were still striking in December unless you missed that. Starmers just been throwing out cash without solving any of the problems.

This government is a absolute joke. I'd put money it being less than 3 months before Lammy has to re-u-turn on his support for Jury trails, and that proposal will be out the window. The benefits review isn't going to emerge from the long grass until too close to the election to be implemented. Who know what the next round of taxes will be.

Of course the Torys put Britain on its knees. Now Labour is sticking in the final knife.

Reform are the only real option left. 30% of the country see that and growing.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2026 09:31

I don't see Reform support growing in the polls being done. It seems relatively stable (with a few ups and downs, as would be expected).

I'm hopeful they'll lose ground before the GE, as I just cannot see them as competent to be in government. If they fuck up loads of councils, this should dampen their support. Shame the local elections are being cancelled in places really!

Labour have screwed many councils - it didn't stop them getting into power.

The Labour voters into Birmingham not had their bins collected for over a year.

I'm sure many labour voters will pick up on every little error reform make whilst turning a blind to their own council incompetence. Ultimately, we all know that all they are doing is trying to protect the benefit payment they get every month.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2026 09:37

Labour got in because they were a protest vote for many people (anybody but the Tories). I suppose Reform may benefit from the same voter sentiment.

Pacificsunshine · 18/01/2026 09:38

Pineneedlesincarpet · 18/01/2026 07:22

Yes I'm sure you're right. I expect none of it is true. Just an unlucky coincidence.

(Not commenting on Starmer's son as I hadn't heard that before).

Nor had I.

Sherbs12 · 18/01/2026 09:47

’Reform are the only real option left’ - what absolutely mindless tripe @Dragonflytamer.

Also, has anyone seen the re-brand that Farage’s former party UKIP have undergone this week? It very much echoes that of the Nazi regime. Just a reminder that there are plenty of former UKIP supporters who have followed Farage to Reform - let’s not be under any illusion about this and who they are. And just like the Tory rejects Jenrick, Zahawi, Gullis, etc., this former-UKIP crew haven’t undergone a political conversion, this is all about the gravy train and having more power.

Hilarious that the only mention of the 'slur' is from somebody complaining about said 'slur'. Maybe don't mention it then!

Anyone who liken Reform today to the Nazi's should be ashamed of themselves and is making points at a level so desperate I'm not going to respond any further to them.

Go and read some history books so you know what you are saying when you write this crap.

Ha ha how amazing!

the trans "story" was common on various boards on MNs a while back... i recognise one name on here that has talked about it before.

Right wingers cannot help themselves from lying

On this thread it was only you. Stop repeating it if you don't like it!

I'm not lying that it was only you here. You need to stop being disingenuous.

Edited for typo.

Id never heard it until you announced the story to everyone. You probably should get your original post containing the slur deleted. Its not very nice.

Yep always the accusations. When posters attack on every thread does it help their party

Not sure it does given the polls each week and even mn moving away from Labour.

Most local elections are still going ahead, along with two national elections. The "cancelled," elections are being postponed until 2027.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2026 09:56

Oh, and you've got the details of the trans story wrong, actually. So you've made up a new slur! 😬

Nope, to pretend no one knew is lying...

A pp dragged up Starmer uses rent boys, no condemnation of that.. how typical.

I’ve read plenty of history books, thank you - that’s exactly why I’m alarmed.

You may wish to choose to ignore Farage’s links with the far right in both the US and Europe, but they still exist. You can deny that the growing accusations of racism and anti-semitism against Farage, but they are valid. You can pretend that there hasn’t always been a racist underbelly to parties like UKIP, and some of those people are now within Reform, but some of us know these people and we know this to be true. We also recognise the patterns of how they dehumanise people ‘illegals’, call for mass deportations, bombard people with propaganda (GB News and X), etc. Yusuf, Tice and the rest of Reform’s paymasters can throw as much money at trying to professionalise and media spin the party into something more respectable, but we see exactly who and what they are.

There is absolutely no shame at all in calling any of that out.
