Why do people like reform?

TheGoogleMum · 02/05/2025 09:23

I haven't been keeping very up to date with politics. I usually vote Labour. I don't really understand the popularity of reform, could anyone explain it to me?
As far as I'm aware Farage doesn't actually do anything when he wins a seat somewhere so I'm not convinced they'll actually do anything? Is it just a protest vote that's gone a bit far?

I just saw that. It doesn't say it was arson. I wanted evidence it's arson as you claim.

Right well now you know the location google some more and you will read it was Arson . 2 hotels the same man .. Go for it .. I have absolutely no reason to lie .
Happy reading .

I think one clear.answer to the reason people vote reform is highlighted on this thread. A refusal to accept there is a problem and that people cannot believe the evidence of their own eyes. People asking for "evidence" that four star hotels are used as if they have never kept up with the news in the last year and are unable to use Google. An inability to accept that people coming in may not behave themselves as one would wish. An inability to accept that the UK system is a massive lure to the world's diaspora.

And if the Labour Party approaches the issue with a similar outlook then things are not going to improve and people will be more and more angry and look for alternatives. And that will be the fault of the Conservatives and Labour. I am politically homeless at the moment but find the gaslighting of the left n immigration fairly frustrating. As do clearly a majority of the people intending to vote looking at current opinion polls. 😬

I have. I can't find anything on an asylum seeker setting fire to the hotels. Just a man from Epping who's been arrested.

You're not a Reform voter so I'm not sure why you keep trumpeting them.

No one asked for evidence of 4 star hotels being used. They asked for evidence that France has a policy of using tents for asylum seekers.

I was replying to the person that asked for evidence that 4* hotels were used. Have a look.

A PP has also explained the point regarding tents for you. Have a look. Obviously you won't agree with the point but for floating voters like me it's interesting.

I haven't been "trumpeting Reform". I'm explaining why I think they are popular. We've all got four years before we can all become " Reform voters" with nfluence over national policy and immigration.

@Maitri108 I’ve linked below why some asylum seekers are in tents / camps in France

Comefromaway · 04/05/2025 17:55

The reason we want evidence of 4 star hotels is because we know there isn’t any because they are not.

Comefromaway · 04/05/2025 17:57

I personally do not want this type of campsite being set up. I would campaign against that. They would be a blot in the landscape. I’d much prefer asylum seekers were accommodated in hotel rooms which are more like hostels really.

Yes so much nicer than France. More people really need to get over here ASAP.

Maitri108 · 04/05/2025 18:00

Yes I've seen it, a man has been charged with arson.

It's not French policy to house asylum seekers in tents.

Some Reform members are calling for asylum seekers to be taken out of hotels and placed in tents. That's not what happens in France. They have accommodation specifically for asylum seekers; they're not automatically placed in tents.

@Maitri108they don’t have enough accommodation, people are in tents.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 04/05/2025 18:37

Why did they vote Reform? Maybe because they must like the idea that Reform say they want to dismantle the NHS “through an insurance based system”. Bizarre.
