Why do people like reform?

I haven't been keeping very up to date with politics. I usually vote Labour. I don't really understand the popularity of reform, could anyone explain it to me?
As far as I'm aware Farage doesn't actually do anything when he wins a seat somewhere so I'm not convinced they'll actually do anything? Is it just a protest vote that's gone a bit far?

@RedWhite

Unregulated migrants in France are living under the radar and are living in tents and abandoned buildings.

Once someone claims asylum they are entitled to certain things such as housing. We would therefore have a duty to provide food and shelter while we are processing their claims.

People can still throw away their documents and make it difficult to process them.

France don’t seem to have to do this though

They do as they have obligations under the same laws. They have far more asylum seekers than us.

Complex problems that have not be solved by the two main parties and which Labour seem to be making much worse.

Oh for goodness’ sake!

Labour have been in power for less than a year. It is having to try to deal with all sorts of crap heaped upon the nation for 14 years.

If it was ever going to seriously try to deal with those problems, of course the electorate was bound to be disappointed because, generally, the populace is completely unrealistic.

The electorate was expecting too much, too soon.

Let’s see where things are in 4 years.

You just said some were living in unused buildings in France

much bigger country anyway and they don’t put them up in hotels like we do

I'm talking about the people who come to the UK in small boats.

It’s probably easier to blame the electorate than the Labour party if you’re one of the few not impacted negatively by their policies.

That’s true of any government, surely?

Why, specifically? What is it that you particularly object to against Islamic immigrants?

Not my experience at all. I wonder how many Muslims you've actually spoken to about this.

"IslamIST immigration" vs "IslamIC immigration"

I don't think anyone wants Islamist immigration but it is very important to remember that most people who follow Islam are not fundamentalists (Islamists). All Islamists are Muslim but not all Muslims are Islamist. It is important to make the distinction and note your choice of word.

Weird response. I take it that means you havent spoken to any Muslims about this but base your opinion on what you see on social media etc. Try talking to people and enlighten yourself.

Because a lot of stuff I see on social media (particularly about Muslims) is false and hateful.

Do you mean why are you ignoring people's opinions? Aren't we all entitled to form our own opinions?
