Starmer surely can’t survive this one?

Guido Fox guy says it’s about the ‘shape of his family’ and reveals: “We have a name. As do the Mail and the Telegraph. We have a birth certificate."

Seems the allegations are something to do with an extra marital lady plus baby.

My opinion on this is that anyone who is such a control freak as to jail people for what they say is clearly a very dark person. And the hypocrisy he’s shown about almost everything he’s ever said, also shows a very dark underbelly,

Does he paint himself as holier than thou?

Not really.

But not being Boris Johnson or any of the other skanks that have been in office over the last five years would make anyone appear holier than thou.

You, op, just look desperate. It's so lame. I'm embarrassed for you.

Well Starmer didn’t jail the rioters et al, did he? So that’s a silly comment.

The whole point of a superinjunction is that nobody is allowed to talk about it. So it’s probably all made up bollocks. But even if it’s true not a single Tory can have an issue with it given Boris.

Yes and no.

When the Tories chose Boris as party leader, and the nation voted that party in to power, his affairs and various DC were all known about.

With Starmer, it seems to be new information (if it's true).

There might be an injunction on publishing the identities of those involved. If it is true in the first place, and there is a child involved, then someone has to weigh up the child's right to privacy against whether there is a genuine public interest (in the proper sense, not just satisfying the curiosity of the public) in this information about the character and conduct of the PM being known.

noblegiraffe · 03/10/2024 09:07

Normally when there's some super injunction rumour you can go straight to twitter and find out exactly what it's about.

Try with this one and you just find a load of random crap, rehashed old fake stories and Mrs Richard Tice going on about how it's an "open secret" even though people don't seem to have it straight what it is. So I'm yet to be convinced, as it reminds me of all the stuff about Kate divorcing William because of affairs that 'everyone knows about' when it turned out she had cancer.

ParisGellerFTW · 03/10/2024 09:11

MN Starmer fan club out in force. You won't get much sense here OP.

Before the election I thought he was weak but OK. Now I think I was wrong on both counts. He's an amoral windbag who loves power and wouldn't know a principle if it came up and bit him. And will he ever answer a question without using the words "change" and "mandate"?

But on MN he can do no wrong. Next 4 years will be interesting.

Were they? I seem to recall a lot of phraseology about the number of children "that we know of".
There was also the Arcuri scandal.

God, I remember the frothing posts on here saying that William was domestically abusing Kate and had injured her and that's why she wasn't in public and all that nonsense when the woman had cancer. People are unhinged about this kind of stuff.

SheilaFentiman · 03/10/2024 09:21

The Prime Minister doesn’t jail people, OP. The courts jail people. People who have been found guilty and who
are receiving sentences in line with sentencing guidelines.

Hope that clears up your confusion.

Starmer fan club? Where?

It is not being a fan to point out that a)Starmer hasn't jailed anyone and that b) even if the affair rumour is true, he won't be the first PM to have had an affair or the last.

In fact two out of the last five Tory PMs have cheated on their spouses.

DancingPhantomsOnTheTerrace · 03/10/2024 09:28

My opinion on this is that anyone who is such a control freak as to jail people for what they say is clearly a very dark person.

What people? Do you mean people jailed by the courts under existing laws and sentencing rules?

I find the logic of "well we expected it from Boris so it's less bad" reeks of desperation. An affair is horrible. It doesn't make it better if it's someone you expected it from. If you didn't care about Boris's affairs, don't suddenly pretend it's an issue because you view Starmer as hypocritical. Did Boris admit to all his affairs?? Or did he put someone who looks suspiciously like him in the House of Lords so they could be in a position of power for life. But that's fine - we expect it from him after all 🙄

Bromptotoo · 03/10/2024 09:31

Can anyone link to what Guido Fawkes has actually published?

PandoraSox · 03/10/2024 09:31

Are you going to come back and explain how Starmer jailed people for what they say @hamstersarse ?

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 03/10/2024 09:35

I do wish that those who are so quick to defend Starmer do so with our saying 'but the Tories, but Boris'

On Sky yesterday Dawn Butler was keen to make it clear that she buys her own clothes and said that the optics were bad in regard to the donations.
Labour did have a chance to clean up politics, they've blown it. Now stories will continue to circulate as people have lost the trust in him.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 03/10/2024 09:36

Politics has become so childish. Making up stories, smearing, all of it. Just grow up.

Strangely, a Google of Guido Fawkes and super injunction leads straight back to this thread. Make of that what you will.

EasternStandard · 03/10/2024 09:37

Political discussion has been like this for a while it’s just aimed at a new party and leader now

PandoraSox · 03/10/2024 09:39

Maybe OP should get the thread taken down. If even Guido Fawkes is tiptoeing around this @hamstersarse could get herself in trouble.

Mmhmmn · 03/10/2024 09:40

Abstractthinking · 03/10/2024 05:01

This is really beginning to piss me off. The newspapers are going after him hard. The double standards are amazing. Boris had many affairs. There were many rumours about him and at least one extra baby. Why would a rumour about Starmer finish him off? The freebies thing is also ridiculous as he did not break any rules and did as many other policitians have done. Notice how no-one is calling for the donation system to stop?

There is no way a superinjunction. If there was a superinjunction, who ever is publishing its existance is breaking the law. Therefore it has to be made up by definition.

In my opinion, it is the right bullying starmer over tax. They are showing their ability to destroy his reptuation if he dare to take their money. It is getting more hysterical in the run up to the budget. And people are falling for it.

This. The right wing press in this country is sick and pathetic.

Northernlass44 · 03/10/2024 09:43

Omg guido fucking fox what a fucking joke you reform lot really are. Isabel was on talk tv made up some right shit about starmer you guys fall for it use an inflammatory word about being gay as a hash tag all on hr word yet she produced no bloody evidence. Strange the telegraph didn’t give a shit about the illegitimate kids that boris had or all the other stuff done by them lot. No one gone in as hard when it came out quietly that boris had 900000 gifts and money given while pm. No big massive headlines in t( right wing press.
personally I see what’s happening here the conference shows the lack of talent in the conservatives and as for reform big fucking jokers so this is how they try to take him down.
we don’t give a fucking shit

Were you one of the intelligentsia who were inciting people to burn asylum seekers alive during the riots OP or spreading lies to inflame violence? Otherwise I can't see why else you'd stick up for them.

MayaPinion · 03/10/2024 09:45

You can't really hold Starmer to a different standard to Shagger Johnson, Truss, Hancock, Pincher, Elphicke, Roberts, Griffiths, Warburton, and Kahn, and that's just in the last 4 years. Tory HQ must have been awash with extramarital semen.

Stories will continue to circulate because we don't have a free press in this country, a handful of very rich right wing men own our media. They don't want a left wing government and look at the state of the country.

You do realise that he’s paid it back now and many donations was given before he became pm and he’s put a new bill in that will sort this. It’s not dirty if if it’s a given that it can be done and personally the same journalists criticising him got free tickets to Taylor swift concert etc to. It’s a thing also he is much better in many respects then any tory

This. The right wing press in this country is sick and pathetic.

Radio 4 did a piece on it the other week.
starmer is not doing politics how the Tory’s did. Tory’s would float an idea see how the papers respond and drop or run with it. Starmer is ignoring the press and hoping their results speak for themselves.

the papers are absolutely gunning for him and I really hope the plan plays out. Whilst the press should hold politicians to account, they should not be unelected rulers of the country

You know we know about this because he declared it.
it took journalists to dig up boris’s donations

I always remember that Marina wife of Johson had a very nasty battle with cervical cancer.
I wonder if that had anything to do with her husband and his multiple affairs?

Also what happened to the Garden Bridge money? 40 million.
Also what about the £150,000 given/loaned to his mistress?

Why did Johnson when foreign secretary drop his security detail to go to a party at the home of an ex KGB oligarch? Then he was seen looking dishevelled at an airport in Milan? Completely alone and even more dishevelled than normal?!
