HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 04/07/2024 23:27

I have not voted
Reform and live in a safe tory seat But I voted
Lib dem tactical vote

I said ages Ago on here the reform would do really well and was shouted down.

Same as brexit, no one will admit voting for reform but
They still do it in droves it seems.

I'm Willing to bet they
Might win an election in four years at this rate!!

Scary

It is worth noting that in the results declared so far the Reform Ltd vote is slightly lower than the exit poll projection.

The Uk is one of the most tolerant countries in the world.

Reform just came in third in Swindon South with 6000 and something.

It's protest.

What are you ON? There's been two results and Swindon is not one of them

Ghetto has very racist connotations as a word. It means you object to a poor black area

There are white ghettos.

I guess you've never been to places like Buttershaw in Bradford. There are many others.

In fairness, I don't know anyone who voted Reform who isn't also a massive racist.

Well massive racists aren't going to care who knows it, are they? Or the other way; if they're happy to tell you they voted Reform maybe they don't mind being associated with all that involves.

Protest voters will probably be more careful who they tell.

There has to be some hope in this picture somewhere. It can't be that a huge slice of the population became bigots in 2010.

True, it’s still frightening though. I’ll be wanting a map of the areas where Reform won a seat or has high votes to avoid . Hoping it’s not my area.

You and me both!

What are you talking about 'disenfranchisement' ? They’re not disenfranchised, they’re the most enfranchised people in the country, they have gotten every single thing they voted for and at enormous cost to the rest of us. They might not like the 'prize' they have won but that's their own fucking stupid fault. These are the 'we don't need experts' lot, they were told and told and told but voted to make the country worse with Brexit and continue to do so.

Listen I am a middle class, middle aged white privileged, London liberal (well now live in the naice bit of Kent) buuuut we have to change our thinking on this. Brexiters are not thick ( they maybe misinformed) neither are they racist ( they may be mistaken that immigration is the problem). Please, please don't fuel this anger and division. It leaves an open goal for that charlatan Farage.

There have been 5 results, and Swindon South is one of them.

LiterallyOnFire · 05/07/2024 00:48

Five have been declared. Swindon South half an hour ago.

Look on the Guardian.

Image shared on Facebook by a "friend" who is a reform voter and also 10.5 thousand other racist fools ! and I see a lot of brown faces so don't tell me it isn't racism @lovelysunshine22
I would far rather live in a place where there is immigration than a place where I fear for my life. If there is no racism why no homes for Syria and only homes for Ukrainian?

Reform are getting a shitload of voters
Appalonia · 05/07/2024 00:49

Watching ITV, it's obvious that the commentators are blindsided by the success of Reform, don't understand it and are saying, oh it's only 6 seats so far. Good God, just spend 10 minutes on TwiX the last few weeks, Reform were constantly trending! People are pissed off and feel like they're not being heard!

morningvole · 05/07/2024 00:49

Its people like you who will be to blame when the far right start to get massive numbers of votes! Sneering idiots with a superiority complex who clearly aren't as clever as they think they are!

^^this

I didn't vote reform but know many people who did who wouldn't have dreamt of doing so a few years ago. When asked why they voted Reform their reply is usually "we've had enough"

Sneering will land you back at Brexit level shock by the next election.

I only voted Labour because I always have. I'm disillusioned with them all. It'll be the same shit, different party. How can you not understand why people are turning to the far right? People are desperate for change, desperate.

Fantapops · 05/07/2024 00:49

Doesn't surprise me tbh. This country has quite a lot of stupid people who'll be missing UKIP & BNP.

Thanks. I didn’t know the emoji for tosspots

I think you're my spirit animal @Neurodiversitydoctor Smile

We never did the hard work of unpacking what led to Brexit and it going to keep rebounding until we do, I think.

Are you watching the coverage ? There are I think 8 declarations so far Swindon South was most definately one. Robert Buckland made a very impassioned speach.

White ghettos are a thing.

Try and "comprehend" that.

Jutemat · 05/07/2024 00:51

Reform votes are immense!!!! Doesnt make any difference of course as Labour seats are all that matters but crikey it will make for an interesting few years to come in right wing politics. Tory will go further and further right and gain back ground.

Had enough of what exactly? If they think that Reform will indeed change anything then they are indeed stupid. I don't care if that's rude quite frankly.

I agree with you that all the parties are crap at the moment. I very nearly spoilt my ballot.

LiterallyOnFire · 05/07/2024 00:42

Wow. University city.

The fact that it is a university city isn't as relevant in this election as others because the election has been held outside of university term time.

It's a known tactic designed to reduce the strong left-wing student vote in university cities. It happened in 1992 as well and was, in part, what helped John Major win a small majority.

Oh there's racism. Lots of it within Reform.

I just don't think everyone voting for them is racist.

I mean, I hope I'm right. If I'm wrong, I'll be emigrating.

MrHarleyQuin · 05/07/2024 00:51
