HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 04/07/2024 23:27

I have not voted
Reform and live in a safe tory seat But I voted
Lib dem tactical vote

I said ages Ago on here the reform would do really well and was shouted down.

Same as brexit, no one will admit voting for reform but
They still do it in droves it seems.

I'm Willing to bet they
Might win an election in four years at this rate!!

Prime ministers question time will be a riot with Nigel Farage as an MP. If the European Parliament was anything to go by.

caringcarer · 05/07/2024 05:14

Almost 6 million votes but sadly only 4 seats for RUK.

The last figure I saw for share of the popular vote said Reform had 16% so far. That's one in six. It's a significant share of the vote. From nowhere.

I think they're a bad thing. You seem to think they're a good thing. But that's not a vote share any of us can ignore.

It doesn't translate into many seats under FPTP, but that's a good safety mechanism against sudden populist movements.

If he's as lazy as he was in Europe, Farage will be a very easy target.

Reform may only get 13 seats, however they are coming second to Labour in MANY constituencies, suggesting millions must have voted for them. Reform have decimated the Tory vote everywhere, for those who are not paying attention. Had it not been for FPTP, we would be looking at Reform being far more influential on a national scale

This. Reform have nearly 15% of the vote overall, that's a huge amount. More than the Lib Dems on 11% and not that far behind the Conservatives on 22%. If it wasn't for the FPTP system they'd have dozens of MPs. Terrifying.

Yes, it is terrifying.

First time that I have been grateful for FPTP.

In four years there will be more migrants than us so I very much doubt they will vote reform

whyhavetheygotsomany · 05/07/2024 05:48

I wanted them to win

hattie43 · 05/07/2024 05:51

Reform will get stronger and stronger , they've only been ' live ' for a few weeks .

How is that extra £3,500,000,000 a week for the NHS working out for you?

Let’s argue on facts. You added an extra zero there. The promise was £350 million extra per week. The NHS is currently receiving more than double that amount in extra funding since the Brexit referendum. It is a myth that throwing money at the NHS will solve its problems. It is a money pit.

Reform is doing well because the Tories moved to the centre and failed to address disenfranchised voters on the right. Just look at their complete failure to address immigration.

I am not a Reform voter, I am a centrist who thinks a change of government was needed, but am concerned that Labour landslide will mean the new government will not be not be able to be held effectively to account.

HarrietTheSpyglass · 05/07/2024 05:59

Reform are only getting votes because they’re the only party that want to close our borders. We should be like Australia so I get it! At the moment we let anyone in, speak English? No? Oh well, come on in, here’s a house and benefits. Stay as long as you like. Have a British passport, it’s on us!

good on them for taking a hard line. Most people only voted labour because they didn’t want the tories in again. It’ll be just as ju has a shit show. Our entire government is absolute shite and it’ll never get better

LiterallyOnFire · 05/07/2024 05:59

Calm down. She said she voted.

But not for reform.

hattie43 · 05/07/2024 05:51

Reform will get stronger and stronger , they've only been ' live ' for a few weeks .

The thing is, every time any of those parties (UKIP, Brexit etc) come under any scrutiny, they start having scandals and sackings hand over fist.

Look at last week with the secret recordings.

They can't organise themselves or even keep their own candidates on-message.

spuddy4 · 05/07/2024 04:50

No one cares in Wales about Plaid so it's unrealistic for the rest of the country to be interested in them.

On that basis, we shouldn't be interested in Reform Ltd either.
The remaining question is will the Greens also finish on 4 seats?

Triestre · 05/07/2024 06:15

You will be in for a shock in four years time.

Will Putin still be Russian President and supporting Farage and disrupting the politics of other countries?

They said I have not voted reform

SloaneStreetVandal · 05/07/2024 06:29

Reform is the party of choice for the bottom feeders among us. They have a severe image problem, which will be very difficult to shake - too difficult IMO for them to ever go mainstream.

People should learn to read before commenting

Or are you saying

People who do not vote Reform have no right to an opinion.

Wanting stricter immigration control does not mean you are a racist.

Brandonsflowers · 05/07/2024 06:31

Something I forgot and I think a lot of others did too, Farage's lot didn't stand at the last election did they? So there was a feeling even in 2019 there was a split in the Tory vote.

For all the people crowing on about how this isn't a labour win and it's a Tory loss, I don't ever think the tories had the support they thought they did either.

swimsong · 05/07/2024 06:31

LiterallyOnFire · 05/07/2024 03:40

I'm trying to rewind.

I think he's genuinely delusional.

His Russian connections are worrying too.

Oh here we are....I think he's going for the whole "Dad's Army", grass roots vibe. But yeah "Mass National Movement". That is creepy.

You would think Nigel would have got the Russian bot farms to learn the word for 'pub' 😅

I would like to point out that the Reform Ltd contract promised to continue migration at current levels.

What was someone saying about people and reading?
