Angela Raynor (and the Lock her Up! Brigade)

So Angela Raynor allegedly gave the wrong address to the post office or something, and underpaid her tax bill ten years ago by the cost of a big shop, and this gets the Tories excited. Meanwhile, one of their MPs is defrauding campaign funds and other folks, they know, and don't tell the police for three months. James Daly MP must be furious. Am I right?

A bit grim though that the assumption is she lived in a two-bedroomed house with her brother and three children - where did they all sleep? Or is it that she lived separately from her husband and children?

This says such a lot about you, Clav.

I want to move to Ashton under Lyne, just so I can vote for Angela Rayner. She is kryptonite to Tories.

Are you suggesting the police and the HMRC got it wrong?

In what way? They are hardly going to announce that Rayner's ex-husband has been sent a tax bill.

She's committed the worst crime conceivable.

she's a woman some would think she was attractive, she has legs that she sometimes crossed and uncrossed during the same debate, the hussy.

And, may God forgive her, she's working class While, note, being working class and proud of it. Imagine!! The horror !!

Would it be still Rayners fault if her ex got a tax bill?

Clavinova · 29/05/2024 21:31

In this instance, I think it's more that Angela Rayner consistently demanded other people publish their tax returns - so she was branded a hypocrite. Jill Mortimer was only a parliamentary candidate when Rayner demanded she publish her tax

return (Mortimer came from a very ordinary Northern background);

They were still married in 2016 when the other house was sold.

Zonder · 29/05/2024 21:34

Doesn't really answer the question. Anyway it's all hypothetical - you have no idea if he would be fined since you don't have access to all the info.

bombastix · 29/05/2024 22:28

They haven’t landed one damn punch on her. As predicted.

Contemptible stuff. All that has been achieved is a useful precedent for a government using its influence to launch a police investigation against its opponents. And that’s not good for the Conservatives when they are on the way out.

Zonder · 29/05/2024 23:17

It was all a bit grim anyway given how many Tories owe enormous tax bills. They could sort their own party out first.

@Clavinova aka Witch Finder General.
