Tory next move to scrap paid worker’s holidays FFS

Apparently, this is highly likely to happen according to someone I know. He’s been right about a lot of things. I hope he isn’t right about this.

Well my holiday allowance shot up in the 90s thanks to an EU directive. Think it was 15 days and suddenly went to 20. So would think it quite likely that they'll do away with that if they can.
Maternity leave also doubled between my two children, thanks also to the EU.
Why is anyone surprised?

WTF? Sick pay is a thing of the past, working till you die of old age, now holiday pay reduced as well?

I really really doubt this will happen. It would lead to an outcry and destroy Liz's lead in the polls. I think she's not stupid enough to do that.

It would turn the entire working population against the Tory party, so no I don't think it will happen.

They have some pretty strange ideas but they won't commit political suicide.

Every single working contract in the UK would have to be renegotiated. Can you imagine the cost? The number of public sector workers we would lose. They would just walk away and go independent.

if companies are complaining about labour shortages, they will have to keep holiday pay to attract people....hopefully....

People are pissed off that they lost a days pay on Monday for example.

This cannot be true. Companies are paying workers on under £40K cost of living bonuses between 1 and 2k to help out. They are not going to be taking away their paid holiday when there is a skill shortage.

Given current labour markets it would be a brave employer to try to reduce paid holiday, irrespective of government policy. Civil service or Lords will delay this stupidity until it dies.

Did you miss demonstrations (whether mass or just one person) being made illegal? You can be jailed for years for demonstrating.
