What happens if Trump wins?

I know the comments Trump has made about blocking Muslims from the USA, and building a wall between the states and Mexico. But what will the world look like if he becomes president? People seem to be afraid of his success and suggest we 'should push the button now' or that he will be assassinated. Surely he comments are to stir up media interest?

What MM is paraphrasing is the old "For Evil to win all that is required is for good people to do nothing" - Brexit won because the Remain campaign was negative and shit and nobody believed (me included) they could lose.
Complacency.
And that could catch us out again…. Hmm

Lweji · 05/08/2016 15:41

Bloody hell:

Trump admits he didn't see nonexistent Iran money video

Next thing he'll admit he has no clue what he'd do in the WH.
Or that he has no evidence on Hillary.

Threesoundslikealot · 05/08/2016 15:53

Ha! Interesting to see him admitting a lie rather than blustering for once. Perhaps he was convinced that owning up to a lie would be less of a problem that being thought to have leaked classified material.

To give some perspective, the day that Michael Moore published that article, this 538 poll stood at 53% likely that Trump would win.

The thing with Trump (besides being a total idiot) is that he's never heard the word 'No' with regards to his hair brained schemes and offensive opinions. He's been surrounded by YesMen for so long that he believes his own publicity. And his 'publicity' has always been loud bombast. That's fine when you're a businessman and all your risking is your own money, quite another when you're running a country! The problem is that we live in a bit of a bombastic society and people unfortunately tend to think that the one who shouts loudest is the one to listen to. And that 'if he says it loudly, it must be true' without realizing that he has a very good reason to lie about his opponents; he want to win the election.

All this 'wait until I tell you what I know' bullshit is an example. He does 'damage' merely by saying "I know something you don't know and I'll be 'telling all' at a 'later date'" and then never actually revealing anything. Luckily, he's starting to be called on some of it (like the Iran money transfer film), but there are some who will believe it despite him making a half-assed clarification. He didn't say 'there is no such tape' he said 'the tape on TV is the hostages coming home'. Still leaves that 'lingering doubt' in the minds of his sheeple supporters.

I agree with PP who have said that if Trump does win*, it will be complacency on the part of democratic voters that gives him the victory. I'm making sure that everyone I know who supports Hillary is registered to vote, that the Bernie supporters understand how vital it is to support her, and I'll be driving my 7 passenger van to and from the polls on election day.

*Just typing those words gave me chills so I am doing the old childhood 'whammy reverse'; I have spun on the spot 3 times and spit on the ground and stomped on it.

This is a blog?

JudyCoolibar · 05/08/2016 20:34

So you've sat in an airport and sat on a plane, newshoes. Big deal. If you can't handle people with different opinions from yours discussing this very important issue, why come on the thread at all?

StorminaBcup · 05/08/2016 20:56

Excellent.

Just read this, and thought it rather amusing...

Trump is a man with a vision for America, not a specific vision, a great vision...the best vision...Trump has a plan to make this country great again....What plan??....a great plan...a plan that will work because it's the best plan.....Why???... because Trump knows good people...which people???....the best people....people that are not stupid like other people....people who know how to get deals done...what deals???...great deals...the biggest deals... because I know words... What words???...I have the best words... I get my information from watching TV... I consult with myself because I have a great brain... A great brain???...the best brain...Trump will also build a big wall to keep Mexicans out and he will make Mexico pay for it!...How....??? its all part of the great plan!...ISIS will be gone very, very quickly...How???... I won't tell you.. It's a secret !!!...

(This guy is a “one-man circle jerk” and he is only about entertaining the uneducated who love him and his great plan. He's all air - no substance. And he is their “Champion”).

Yep.

Claig Thank you for giving me names. Problem is you have since gone on to say others are Establishment (Harvard) but I thought you said the people you mention are the servants of the elites? I'm starting to think your idea of Establishment is anyone high profile who disagrees/doesn't like Trump?

Lweji · 06/08/2016 08:32

There is a trend in liking demagogues full of hot hair, vague hate towards the "others" and no substance who propose to change things for the hell of it with no actual plan.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 06/08/2016 08:39

full of hot hair

If that isn't a typo, then you officially have the worst taste ever, nay; a problem. Grin

StorminaBcup · 06/08/2016 09:10

But there is a plan, there's always had a plan, they're just not going to say which parts of it are true or not, or which parts are definitely part of the plan that they can't talk about yet because the rest of us are too brainwashed to see it. We'll just have to wait until they can tell us which parts of the plan that they can't talk about yet will be revealed to be part of the plan when they can talk about the plan. And then we'll know. Or something.

Grin one-man circle jerk and hot hair

I've just noticed. It was a typo. His hair is hellish hot, though.

Threesoundslikealot · 06/08/2016 09:26

That's hilarious!

Interesting poll update. Trump down to 1% support from African-American voters. Obama got 91% of that vote in 2008 and 95% in 2012. Trump is behind in polling for every minority group plus white Americans with college degrees. I think they're choosing to believe everything he says.

Has Sir Humphrey returned?
I'd love to hear his explanation of Trump.

Except Susan Sarandon. Susan Sarandon's not the establishment because she does sort of like Trump. Not quite enough to actually support him, though.

There's logic in them tharrr hills.

LauderSyme · 06/08/2016 20:45

If, as claig so confidently asserts, the elites and the establishment are all so very terrified of a President Trump, surely they'll have him assassinated in double quick time? I mean, those guys have an awful lot to lose if he does demolish them. I can't see them taking it lying down....

claig Are you in the pay of Trump's campaign? (Same here, btw, staggered to discover you are a woman). I have been reading and rereading your posts and it just isn't possible for any one individual to be as wonderfully iconoclastic and fantastically mighty as you think Trump is.

On a few occasions on this thread you have congratulated yourself for not resorting to personal attacks or sarcasm. You seem to imply this puts you on higher moral ground. Considering your apologism for Trump's racism, sexism and lack of common decency - it doesn't!
