What happens if Trump wins?

I know the comments Trump has made about blocking Muslims from the USA, and building a wall between the states and Mexico. But what will the world look like if he becomes president? People seem to be afraid of his success and suggest we 'should push the button now' or that he will be assassinated. Surely he comments are to stir up media interest?

Similarly, a Corbyn victory is very bad news for the world's elites, which is why there is an orchestrated coup against him just 9 months after being elected leader with the biggest mandate and landslide in UK political history. Corbyn will probably beat them again despite the media bias.

53rdAndBird · 31/07/2016 14:54

53rd, is he a fascist? I think I've been blocking my ears and going "lalala" so excuse my naivete.

I would say yes, based on:

  • lots of language about the country being a ruin, and how he's going to make it great again;
  • whipping up hatred of foreigners/minorities;
  • aggressive, militaristic approach to the rest of the world;
  • lots of talk about how the current system of government is weak and ineffective and what the country really needs is a strong leader;
  • big cult of personality around that strong leader;
  • zero tolerance of dissent or disagreement, happy to suggest/support violence in response

Bit worrying, really.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 15:08

incredible to read here that trump is for The People

who are The People? this category seems to exclude a lot of ordinary people so I would just like someone to clarify, maybe claig

like, if you immigrated from Mexico, are you one of The People? what if you are Muslim? Or a refugee?

helenatroy · 31/07/2016 15:10

One thing is for sure it will be the kiss of death for what remains of the USA's good reputation abroad. Also my stomach turns at the thought of that face on a banknote or a coin ( be sure he will want that). Personally I can't believe it has come to this. The leader of the free world a racist, sexist, facist, ignoramus with known links to the KKK who's wealth was inherited from slum landlording..

Lweji · 31/07/2016 15:10

incredible to read here that trump is for The People
That would be claig. Well...

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 15:12

I know trump has retweeted from pro Nazi Twitter accounts, maybe nazis are part of The People?

claig please...

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 15:13

Citation for neonazi retweet: www.msnbc.com/msnbc/trump-retweets-apparent-neo-nazi-the-second-time-year

Mind it is from MSNBC and maybe they are a scurrilous organ of the elites?

claig · 31/07/2016 16:02

Uncontrolled, Trump deleted the tweet. Trump doesn't read every last detail of what he retweets, he is not one for detail. He retweeted it based on the fact that is was saying something positive about his supporters at a rally. He didn't read the username and know that it was from an apparent Neonazi.

Trump is for all the people. He is the most popular Republican among Muslim Americans.

"Surprise: Among Muslim Republicans, Donald Trump is No. 1"

www.star-telegram.com/news/nation-world/national/article57800513.html

You mustn't believe everything the Establishment media say because they are acting for their bosses trying to turn the people against Trump, just as they do here by calling Corbyn a "bully".

SwedishEdith · 31/07/2016 16:47

he is not one for detail

Ideal candidate for leader of a global superpower.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 17:16

Hilarious, he retweets an account called WhiteGenocideTM, how could he know it was dodgy Hmm

anyway, I am still waiting to hear who The People are, chip in whenever you're ready claig

claig · 31/07/2016 17:44

'I am still waiting to hear who The People are'

Everybody

"Poll: Trump's Hispanic support on par with Romney in 2012

Donald Trump is running nearly even in Hispanic support compared to Republicans' last two presidential nominees, according to a new poll.

In a two-way race against Hillary Clinton, a Pew Research poll found that 24 percent of Hispanic registered voters support Trump.

Those numbers reflect Hispanic support for the two last Republican presidential nominees, Mitt Romney — who polled at 21 percent — and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — 23 percent — before the 2012 and 2008 elections."

thehill.com/latino/287086-poll-trumps-hispanic-support-on-par-with-romney-2012

Do not be fooled by the Establishment media. They are paid to be crafty, just like here where they are doing their utmost to convince Labour Party members that Corbyn is a "bully".

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 17:55

I love it, his support is on par with Romney's

an equivalent sentence might be, violent diarrhoea is now as popular is uncontrolled vomiting!

then again, considering he has said that people immigrating from Mexico are criminals and rapists, I can't think why he isn't more popular with them - maybe they have been brainwashed by the crafty media establishment?

claig · 31/07/2016 18:07

The only people trying to brainwash the public are the elites, just like they tried their best in Brexit. They lost in Brexit and that was a shock to them, but it will be as nothing to the puppets and lackeys when Trump wins. It will be all over for them, the end of all their dreams, the end of all their schemes.

Their best and brightest, their teams from Oxbridge and Harvard, their journos and their winos and even the Republican RINOs will all be shocked when Trump beats them.

"Donald Trump will win the US presidency by a landslide – don't underestimate him yet again

Just like Obama, Trump is inspiring first-time voters to get out on polling day, while existing Republicans will hold their noses when they get to the ballot box

Donald Trump’s mother, Mary-Anne MacLeod, comes from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. So does my great grandfather, John MacLeod.

Despite our frighteningly proximate DNA and our similar hair colour, I’d rather not have Trump in the White House. Neither would many Americans, yet it is now very likely that the Republican nominee will be the next American president – and he could win in a landslide.

The political establishment underestimated Trump's campaign and their naivety is coming back to haunt them.
...
Clinton will get fewer votes than Obama. Trump will get out far more first-time voters than the Republicans have ever achieved before, while regular Republican voters will hold their noses and punt for Trump.

Unless the left stop dreaming up reasons for Trump to lose, and start campaigning like he might win, the 2016 election will be the landslide for Trump.

Andrew MacLeod is visiting professor in the Policy Institute at Kings College London, a corporate director in the US and a former UN official"

www.independent.co.uk/voices/donald-trump-will-win-the-us-presidency-by-a-landslide-dont-underestimate-him-yet-again-a7051686.html

The end of all their schemes, the end of all their dreams. They will blame the people just like they did after Brexit, but the people will only laugh as the puppets' lies are exposed by Donald J Trump.

Onedaftmonkey · 31/07/2016 18:08

I can't remember who said it but.
We put our head between our legs and kiss our asses goodbye.

SwedishEdith · 31/07/2016 18:11

God, it's a MacLeod elite.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 18:15

I totally agree that he will win.

it is news to me that I am part of a metropolitan elite, however.

Sadly it wasn't much use to me after the referendum when passers by shared their trenchant political commentary racist abuse shouted from cars with me

claig · 31/07/2016 18:19

'it is news to me that I am part of a metropolitan elite'

You aren't the metropolitan elite - that is Cameron, Miliband and the Oxbridge teams. You may vote for them, but that doesn't make you one of them

notamummy10 · 31/07/2016 18:20

America is fucked. Fascism never does well.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 18:23

well claig, as an uncontrolled immigrant, I am definitely on the bottom. Whoever these People are who will have the last laugh when trump is elected, I am not one of them. I'm just a person, not a People I guess.

I wasn't one of The People who had the last laugh after the referendum, either. I probably was part of a People, once, but genocide and ethnic cleansing put paid to that. Hey ho.

Well, enjoy your victory.

claig · 31/07/2016 18:29

'I wasn't one of The People who had the last laugh after the referendum'

There were reports of tears in Number Ten. That is democracy. The Establishment lost.

UncontrolledImmigrant · 31/07/2016 18:33

Are you suggesting I am David Cameron?

again, news to me I am the Establishment. Nope, just some poor fucker who gets racist shit yelled at them (presumably by The People)

But how gratifying to hear from you that I occupy such a blessed echelon in society after all!

lljkk · 31/07/2016 18:34

Didn't Claig predict a UKIP landslide last year, too?
Actually, Claig's strong record of wrong predictions are quite reassuring at the moment. :)

claig · 31/07/2016 18:38

They thought they were smarter than the people, they thought they had it all sewn up, they thought they could convince us Corbyn was a "bully", but it is the end of all their schemes. They can't understand it, they didn't teach them that at Oxbridge.

"Donald Trump is giving the over-educated geeks who run the world a sharp lesson in reality

The establishment has thrown everything at Donald Trump and failed. Again and again, he brushes off their insults and indignation and bags a few more million votes. But unlike everyone else in the media, I see Mr Trump’s decisive victory in Indiana as a really hopeful sign for democracy in the West.

Never have professional politicians and media pundits on both sides of the Atlantic been so completely out of step with vast swathes of the electorate. The over-educated simply do not get the under-educated, but under-educated doesn’t equate with stupid. That’s what politicians and the media need to wise up to, and the same goes for Europe as well as the US.
...

00:17

Like Reagan before him, Trump is the great communicator of his time, and while his style might not be to everyone’s taste he is in sync with the zeitgeist. He is bringing back disgruntled voters who had given up on the whole process and is giving them hope. Those blue-collar workers who always looked to the Democrats to give them a break now look to Trump. The under-educated—normally ignored and despised by the media—are getting their moment to speak, and they’re not as dumb as they look. They’re actually street smart, full of common sense, and way ahead of the curve on this."

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/06/donald-trump-is-giving-the-over-educated-geeks-who-run-the-world/

It's all over for them, their schemes tossed in the bin, Trump will overturn everything they have done.

The establishment has thrown everything at Donald Trump and failed. Again and again, he brushes off their insults and indignation and bags a few more million votes. claig · 31/07/2016 19:01

One of the biggest changes in the entire world will be what happens with Russia. Trump will overturn decades of US and NATO policy towards Russia. Russia will no longer be a potential enemy and will become a partner. There will be no war, there will be peace, cooperation and business.

News report from 15 minutes ago in USA Today

"Trump to consider recognizing Russian control of Crimea"

www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/2016/07/31/donald-trump-russia-ukraine-vladimir-putin-abc/87884072/

"How the Republican Establishment Lost to Trump on Russia"

www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/how-the-republican-establishment-lost-to-trump-on-russia

Trump intends to rebuild America, scrap the elite's and the puppets' trade deals, bring jobs back to America and transform US foreign policy. That is why the bankers are in such panic.

Brokenbiscuit · 31/07/2016 19:23

Claig, I used to find your contributions quite interesting as an alternative point of view, but I'm afraid you are becoming a caricature of yourself. The rhetoric in your posts is laughable - all this crap about "the people" vs "the Oxbridge elites". I'm afraid I don't even bother reading your comments any more, because they all seem to say the same thing.
