Fed up of the cuts? Fed up of the mislead bigotry? This is your sanctuary. Unwind. Vent. Pop over to the frothers thread if you feel like getting organised and doing some proactive stuff or just chill out with a cup of builders tea in a polystyrene cup.

Welcome.

Yes cleggy was on about the 10k mark today

Fab if it happens but won't help many really low people- tax on 1.5k at base rate not enough for solvency surely?

TeWihara · 26/01/2012 14:26

it's what £300 a year?

so not nothing by any stretch, but a bit less than a pound a day probably isn'g going to help anyone who is really struggling.

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 26/01/2012 14:36

Tewihara- that's spot on - why would anyone be jealous of those with fewer opportunities?? It's bizarre.

If you think someone has it easy then why not trade lifestyles with them. And have a good long hard think about the various barriers to that swap.

Ahem, I'm shuffing into line on here with some left over werthers vodka from Christmas and home cooked brownies in my Lands End padded coat. I though that's what a mumsnet picket line would require.

Keep up the good work comrades.

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 15:13

Hmm. I am disappointed in you Shirley. No spilling. Not even a hint as to whether you spied PA and his radioactive tan. Nor whether you played "stroke or botox".

Unless you have sold your stories to OK! and you have a gagging agreement. That would be fair enough.

I'm not allowed no more violence Sad

But do pay attention to the pronoun.

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 15:17

I am seriously thinking of taking my The View From My Ivory Tower show to Edinburgh. I've put my best material on the disembowelment thread and I'm not sure I could stretch it to a whole show so may need some fellow players but other than that I think it's a goer.

How does one go about doing at show at Edinburgh? I am free in August. I think that's the first requirement so big tick there.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 15:18

Don't you just turn up and they give you a theatre?

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 15:29

Um... I dunno.

Does anyone have an Aga and a Cath Kidson pinny I could borrow? I'll need it for August.

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/01/2012 15:36

My friend Lucy has an aga. And chickens. They are daft creatures. But entertaining. Maybe you could have them instead of the pinny?

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 15:42

I'm not sure I could wear chickens...

I'm near Edinburgh.

I have some KK room scent if that helps

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 15:58

CK

Blush
KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 16:06

Lovely. We'll stage in your living room and advertise it as a "fringe" event Katie Grin

Peachy · 26/01/2012 16:34

I think you are kind assuming jealousy, i think it's more a realisation teh economy is contracting resulting in a 'pull up the ladders' attitude- as long as my kids are safe, stuff the rest

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:01

No problem. I'll print up the flyers, put a few round my workplace, my customers would just love it.

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:20

pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

need to let off steam. know too many people struggling to find work or whose jobs are insecure (including me and DH!) to feel like taking lectures from the MN oligarchs.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:27

I work in the Jobcentre

It's an anti-lecture on the irony of the philosophy of Dave.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:30

oh dear I'm getting all angry again.

That commie thread.

You wouldn't think people could be so thick and still be alive.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 26/01/2012 17:30

I'd like the 2.685m unemployed, 463,000 vacancies to be posted on every thread where someone says "blah blah no reason not to work blah blah"

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:32

I can't bear to open the Commie thread. One grim thread a day (reality check thread) is enough.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:33

I shouldn't have done it.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/01/2012 17:34

I am so tired and stressed.

In 27 years I have never been so busy. And despite being a public sector worker, I am usually very busy indeed.

My customers are decent, honest people and deserve to be treated fairly and with respect. A bit of hope wouldn't go amiss either.

And then I come on here and read the hatespew and wonder about the state of humanity. It actually makes me feel ill.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 17:34

yy shirl. We'll put it on all of them.

Oh fuck it. Let's start a thread.

Peachy · 26/01/2012 17:35

At least you have POrm on the comunist thread Hully. I like Orm; she used to help out sometimes when I was a Guider, her dd was one of my girls.

TheLightPassenger · 26/01/2012 17:36

it must be grim Katie, I imagine that it's the usual story these days of more and more work and less and less staff, and that's before you read the stuff on here.
