This is the 3rd thread in a series.

It is for people who are horrified, frustrated and downright sad at the erosion of human rights with respect to how this country is being run, just now and in the recent past

it is apolitical in nature, but of course due to many recent initiatives by the recent govt, there will be rants against our current "leaders"

please join in

I shall post the link to the old threads, our "Too Many Cuts #Frothers" blog that is attracting a lot of widespread attention and a little bit of what we are about in a moment

OP posts:

Saint, it would be very interesting to hear about Next's history with regards to the disabled!

Scarletbanner · 08/12/2011 23:57

The DWP paper niceguy linked to is from October 2011. According to that, child maintenance will be disregarded 100%. It's not in the Bill, so we will have to wait until we see the regulations, but this seems like a clear commitment. And the regulations have to be approved by Parliament, so it would be difficult to wriggle away from this commitment.

Spousal maintenance will be 100% deducted however. Maybe that's where some of the confusion arose.

Will do some research on arrears tomorrow, if I can.

Still frothing about Next. Grrr

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 00:14

Have been battling on Twitter. Few new followers (love HangBitch too) and bonus points for pissing off a Tory! Result!

Right off to bed. Night all Smile

CardyMow · 09/12/2011 00:27

I still can't find anything concrete that is more recent than the House of Commons thing I linked to. I have found a few airy-fairy sites that say that they are going to go REALLY HARD after non-paying NRP's. But they are ALL sites that are dedicated to NRP's and how the NRP's will be badly affected by this, leaving their 'new' families in poverty and how child poverty doesn't exist in the UK, except for in children from 'second' families. Hmm.

Am rather disinclined to believe a website that is blatantly scaremongering, insists on you PAYING to join their forum, has articles to read that are titled things like 'Divorced Fathers are treated worse than terrorists' Hmm , and the website itself is called 'DeadBeatDads'.

Trying to find something slightly less, erm, provocative to disprove what I have read in this House of Commons doc...

CardyMow · 09/12/2011 00:28

If it's NOT in the Bill, then the Government can change that at any time - and if the IFS, and the CAB are stating publically their concerns, in papers published online that anyone can find, then surely there MUST be something in that, and it will be sooner rather than later that it is brought in?

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 09/12/2011 00:45

HuntyCat, fuck me, I had a quick look and there are so many sites on how to avoid the CSA out there! Deadbeatdads is about right if that is what they are up to! It is not about first family and second family, it is about your children, they are all the same value and worth, all your children, you dickweads!

CardyMow · 09/12/2011 01:01

Unfortunately, I'm waaaay past getting to frothy about the bastard websites - have seen all of them over the last decade of fighting the CSA and looking for help and advice. I have even infiltrated some of the more militant NRP sites, while doing previous frothy research, before I knew it was frothy research...

CardyMow · 09/12/2011 01:02

too , too , not fucking 'to'.

I'm going to bed now...

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 01:25

Just popping in on my way to bed. There's been a post on FB saying the new background detracts from the blog content. Any thoughts?

garlicnutcracker · 09/12/2011 02:39

threadmarking :)

KnottyLocks · 09/12/2011 07:17

I'm so impressed with all this. The blog looks and sounds brilliant.

I'm having to catch up now as I've been without a working laptop and therefore net access for a couple of days. I've been looking at and talking to various people about Gove's education reform. And I am fuming.

Hullygully · 09/12/2011 08:36

I'm very impressed too. I'm particularly impressed with the cogent detailed statistic packed blogs which I can't do...I think my generalised big picture frothing rants would look odd and spoil them.

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 08:43

We have 149 likes on Facebook. It would be nice to have 150 please www.facebook.com/frothers

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 08:44

Bugger. Http:www.facebook.com/frothers

Hullygully · 09/12/2011 08:57

Isn't it great that we're not going to sign up to exerting a weeny bit of control over the financial markets with the rest of Yerp? Let the rich get richer and the poor - well, who gives a fuck?

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 09/12/2011 09:00

You mean Cameron with his flowing cape? I thought that was more about him keeping his colleagues happy.

AvadventKalendar · 09/12/2011 09:05

Just poking my head in, have been following you on Twitter since yesterday and trying to do my bit #ff ing, rting etc, sorry I can't do too much other than that as don't have the smarts for blog posts and suchlike - yes it's me with the medication fuzzies, not mentioning names, you'll work it out!

Keep up the good work!

Tianc · 09/12/2011 10:11

So the UK's getting criticised on Al-Jazeera about the damage done to women by a ruling male elite.

And we have a bloke from Nigeria exposing possible UK govt corruption. (ThanksThanks to Mr Mba for dobbing in HMRC re Goldman Sachs tax-avoidance deals.)

My irony-ometer just burnt out.

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 10:38

Arf at Tianc but also

My laptop seems to have packed up. This is a DISASTER. I may not be back today due to weeping and gnashing of tea.

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 10:42

Gnashing of tea? Teeth! Teeth! Bastard autocorrect!

Tianc · 09/12/2011 10:46

Gnashing of tea!Shock I must be doing it wrong...

(but bugger about your laptop)

ShirleyKnot · 09/12/2011 11:01

I've written a piece about Osita Mba for the blog - it's not strictly about the cuts though, more about the sickening corruption at the HMRC

Is that OK with you lot? It might get us some traffic as the story is very current

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 09/12/2011 11:06

Shirley, sounds like a great idea!

KateFrothers · 09/12/2011 11:08

Fine with me Shirl.

Laptop back up and autosave's got my documents but some links I'd got for my dissertation have gone poof Sad
