I'm not quite a frothing berserker but I am getting rather cross with our government messing with the good stuff.

Just off the top of my head:

  • Student fees
  • Public sector workers terms and conditions (otherwise known as moving the goal posts after the match has started)
  • Women (Report on Fawcett legal challenge result here)
  • Sure Start
  • NHS
  • Erosion of employment rights
  • Removal of EMA
  • Removal of universal child benefit
  • Unfair changes to DLA
  • Unfair changes to ESA assessment

I am getting more and more fed up that these decisions are being made to take away some of the things we should be most proud of and that took years to be achieved.

This thread is a safe haven for some ranting as I know some of us are feeling sick and tired of it all.

I've tried to find a polite way to say this, but after seconds of nail chewing I've decided that there isn't one, so

please fuck off smallwhitecat this thread is not for you.

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 19:54

can I revert to intolerance for this government again?
I'm still sitting here frothing - I'll try really hard not to call this tory government cunts anymore.

KateMiddIeton · 30/11/2011 19:55

Don't engage with her. Just ignore her although it is very tempting with silly comments like even political parties allow debate. Yeah, within the party! You don't get Dave debating policy or manifestos with Peter Mandelson do you?

OP posts:
FontSnob · 30/11/2011 19:55

Laydee, let rip, shout at the top of your voice...CUNTS!!!!! :)

LaydeeC · 30/11/2011 19:56

I didn't mean revert, I meant carry on. Doh.
I'm dreading watching the news this evening - I can't bear to listen to the likes of Osborne, Gove, that bastard Maude and

ooops!
meant to say that even bigger bastard Alexander lie about the success of the strike.

FuckYouGideon · 30/11/2011 19:58

I had to read a transcript of Osbourne's statement as I cannot bear to watch him or listen to him speak.

Do you think it's deliberate? They are so vile that people like us just end up not being able to watch the news and therefore get cut off from the reality of it all?

KateMiddIeton · 30/11/2011 19:59

Yes the comments from Dave and co and some of the reporting suggests it was small scale and just another irritation for hardworking parents who have to look after their own children.

Twitter, some media and those that were there say different.

KateMiddIeton · 30/11/2011 20:00

Oh, I meant to say sterling work on the Ed web chat thread. Some great #frothers questions and impressive restraint Smile

I do find it very difficult to watch the news atm, newsnight in particular drives me mad.

It's because the reporters/their script writers are SO ignorant of economics and how it actually works, they ask completely the wrong questions and it drives me .

TapselteerieO · 30/11/2011 20:01

I also keep thinking not in* our name whenever I see any of these spineless shysters a.k.a members of parliament that are supposed to represent us talking as if they do, they don't, I am frothing... I want to do more than froth.

Oh and I have tried twitter, do I have to try again?

I follow ukuncut on fb.

KateMiddIeton · 30/11/2011 20:02

I used to follow UK uncut but the volume of stuff was overwhelming. It felt spammy.

KateMiddleton youasked what are we going to do now we have a few people here?
this is just a suggestion but earlier i posted this:-
northernmonkey Wed 30-Nov-11 18:02:40

I havent had chance yet to read up to date on what has been going on oday (had to finish essay)
BUT My plan of action is to nick KM's twitter line We the unheard are telling you the unelected (Con-Dems) that we have HAD ENOUGH #notinmyname #frothers and find as many MPs on twitter that I can and post it to them. Its gonna be a long haul but if it gets the message out, then we're half way there.
Dont know what others think to this idea?

And here is a link to some of the few on twitter. Might spread the word to the mps the we really are not happy

MissTinaTeaspoon · 30/11/2011 20:04

I'm jumping in to join your frothing! Can I join you?

I'm currently frothing at Shiney Dave and his damp squib comments. I'm seething in fact. Has he so little respect for 2 million people - 3% of the population ffs- that when they walk out of their jobs he barely even recognises it?! Damp squib indeed. When I'm balloted next month (rcn) I know which I way I'll be going. I never ever though I'd strike but I'm so angry I feel I have no choice Angry. Although as a nurse in an 'essential' area (aren't they all? Hmm) I'm assuming I'll be 'exempt'.

I'm standing up to say that enough is enough. I am sick to the back teeth of having to give substandard, often unsafe, care to the most vulnerable members of our society whilst effectively taking a pay cut Angry

So where do I sign? Grin

AnyFucker · 30/11/2011 20:04

< wonders if the definition of "one last point" has changed since the last time I read a dictionary >

northernmonkey · 30/11/2011 20:05

Is it also possible to start an official pettition to spread on facebook, twitter and whatever possible. In this pettition we could say that we the public Vote no-confidence in this government?
Again just ideas

AnyFucker · 30/11/2011 20:07

I had to larf when my local news report described ShinyDave's comment as "damp squid "

ShirleyKnotThroneOfJudgement · 30/11/2011 20:07

Love that idea NM and love the list - but think we need to crystallise the message. It needs to be more direct I think...

blackoutthexmaslights · 30/11/2011 20:07

ooh i like that idea northenmonkey

Grin @af

KateMiddIeton · 30/11/2011 20:08

Yes that sounds like a good thing to do Monkey. I also think enlisting others who are frothers but maybe don't know about us to the cause is good.

I think we need a clear cause too Grin

Teaspoon emskaboo put all the links together up the thread with petitions. It was about 10ish last night.

Yes, glad you had a chance to look at it. It is frightening isn't it. More so that it has received no coverage. Polly Toynbee had a good piece in the Guardian yesterday that touched on it. In some ways, it throws the pensions thing into the long grass as if the rules are changed, we won't have any pensions anyway. They are beginning to really scare me. Bastards, how dare they treat us this way. You are right, it will be 21c slavery and I really fear for my children's future.
I feel so impotent - I really want to make a stand and don't know how to do it.
