I doubt Polly will be selling her Tuscan villa any time soon, but it will be a wonderful day when the BBC's in-house journal gets what it deserves.

Now I understand why the Daily Mail always stands up for the hard working nurses and van drivers at risk of being dismissed by their employers simply because of wishing to wear the symbol of the cross.

What do you make of this Save the Children response to the Bono criticism?

I'm in two minds. Whilst I think he appears to have disconnected his politics from his own lifestyle, if the article is right, he has achieved much for those in poverty.

Does the motive (and indeed lifestyle) matter - when good is achieved?

claig · 25/06/2011 13:09

Motive is crucially important, because it is what drives the action. Unless you understand the motive, you can't understand the purpose of the action. The Devil trumpets his own good deeds. He would do nothing else.

"All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives"

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds"

"He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, And has not sworn deceitfully. He shall receive a blessing from the LORD And righteousness from the God of his salvation"

To be philantrhropic is to love mankind. Big Brother said he loved you. The Man says he love you. But love is pure and the motive is good and even motiveless. It has no purpose.

How do we know what the real motive of those who wish to "save the planet" and "save the world" is? How do we know that it isn't part of an ulterior motive, that bodes no good to humanity. How do we know that there isn't something "in it for them", how do we know that much of the many may never be used to help people, or even that some of their help may not be help at all?

God knows their motive.

claig · 25/06/2011 13:11

how do we know that much of the money may never be used to help humanity? Can we believe all we are told?

claig · 25/06/2011 13:35

Thye have spin doctors and sometimes they knowingly tell lies. Are their motives pure? They tell us they are "saving the planet" for all our futures, then they want more nuclear power stations and the nuclear waste will decay radioactively for many of our futures. They say GM food is a blessing. They don't tell us about the known side effects. They say they do good, they say they are pure. They say they are progressive. I say they tell lies.

claig · 25/06/2011 13:51

They say they can't save our jobs and our industries, they say we are at the mercy of teh market. They say it is globalisation that they are powerless against. Do they speak the truth or do they speak with forked tongue? They say they really want to "save the planet". What's really in it for them? The real reason behind the veil of lies, may come as a very nasty surprise.

claig · 25/06/2011 14:03

They took the people's tax money and bailed out the bankers, their bonuses to keep. They said there was no alternative, they did it for our own good. But what was their motive?

claig · 25/06/2011 14:05

And of course they have increased the foreign aid budget, while making cuts to the poor and disabled. They say they did good, but what were their motives?

claig · 25/06/2011 16:13

Just watching Glastonbury. You can't watch a band without seeing massive banners for Greenpeace and Wateraid. But that's to be expected, they want to get the message across to the young. But what is it with all these pyramid symbols on the BBC's coverage. The word Glastonbury has a pyramid instead of the letter 'A', and each new song title is displayed with pyramids to the left of it. What message are they trying to tell the young? Is it something progressive to do with that helluminati lot?

claig · 25/06/2011 16:14

Apparently there is a pyramid stage, so it may be something to do with that.
