This is firmly tongue in cheek...
Score yourself if you have an interest in / have done any of the following...

Tarot - 2 points
Crystals - 2 points
Spiritualism - 3 points
Auras - 3 points
Homeopathy - 2 points
Reiki - 2 points
Reflexology - 2 points
Past lives / past life regression - 4 points
Yoga - 3 points
Massage - 1 point
Health food / Holland and Barrett - 2 points
Grow yer own - (food that is) 4 points
Mind expanding hallucinogenics - 4 points
Peyote / mescalin - 5 points
If accompanied by tribal rituals, add 2 points

Add an extra 1 point per catergory that you scored on if you wear tie dye.

And another 1 point per catergory that you scored on if you have any books by Doreen Virtue

Dolphin nick nacks - 10 point
Fairy nick nacks - 10 points
Angel nick nacks - 10 points

Ooh with dream interpretation I'm a round 200!
Far out!
(I'm going with the added extras btw. On the original list I'm 40.

I quite fancy founding my own religion, with moi as the Supreme Being.
I could sell yogurt weaved from my own breast milk.

Morning all
nemo Sorry I'm late was ordering my spooky books in spookiness order, and giving my best I am psychic impressions

What about numbers does anyone constantly see the same numbers everywhere they look like 11:11 every time they check the time? Or 333 etc on car number plates?

Love and light xxx

indigobarbie · 18/04/2010 09:39

Sorry I am gatecrashing just want to say nemo you sound a lot like me! re energies etc

Besom · 18/04/2010 10:04

I'm only a part-time wooer as I scored 16. Although some of this was due to illegal substances which was nothing to do with woo and more to do with youth and stupidity.

moonmother · 18/04/2010 10:09

18 points, although

I do own quite a few spell books, witchcraft books and a grimoire of my own.

I grow lots of herbs

I'm a hedge witch by path

I also own a crystal ball(have never used it )

I run a business making jewellery using semi precious stones/crystals- the majority of my customers don't buy because of the crystals meanings, but I always name my jewellery due to the crystal meanings.

I have very woo Druid neighbours.

Nemofish · 18/04/2010 12:27

Owning a crystal ball - 20 points

I'm up to 75 now, that's pretty woo.

moonmother I luuurve crystal jewellery. I totally get the hedgewitch thing. Do you ahve a website? Do you make things to order?

indigobarbie perhaps we vibrate at the same frequency?!

Fliight · 18/04/2010 12:31

BUT I think I may believe in an afterlife. Only since recently, though, really.

Fliight · 18/04/2010 12:32

My Doula tried to adjust my chakras once, I think if I'm honest I'd just rather get another set from Plumbing Trade Supplies.

all she did was wave her arms around above my head. It did nothing. I didn't disappear or anything.

Nemofish · 18/04/2010 14:45

Fliight

Hmm... am not a world authority or anything but I don't see how a spot of hand waving over your head would adjust your chakras.

My theory is that most people can 'feel' the energy moving, so when you do summat with their chakras or give them reiki they go 'oooh!' as they can feel it. I have not yet had anybody who hasn't been able to feel it, either you are one of those people or your doula was a loon not doing it correctly.

It does make me chuckle when people say in a panic 'you have a spin problem in your throat chakra!!!!' like it's life threatening. It's like suffering from tension headaches, not pleasant, but treatable. Hardly anyone operates on the basis of 100% health, physically or pyschically.

Fliight · 18/04/2010 15:39

Thanks for explaining Nemofish, and sorry for any offence!

May I ask though - have you ever done it to someone who didn't know it was being done, and did they react to it too? I'm thinking about the possibility of testing against the suggestibility theories iyswim! (like at school, when we lifted everyone up by one finger etc)

Fliight · 18/04/2010 15:39

(and yes, my doula was very woo)

Nemofish · 18/04/2010 16:08

No offence taken, fliight!

Yes I have tried control subjects.

Standing behind them, then raising my hand towards them and directing energy towards them (bear with me).

Done this 1) at college in an indian head massage class, poor woman nearly fell off her chari, she felt the energy, but no surprise really as she was reiki attuned as well.

  1. during a reiki attunement class as an exercise. The bloke felt my energy quite keenly (can that be woo quote of the week? Please oh please!)

  2. My daughter when she was a wee baby - she never really wanted reiki and would wriggle off my lap as soon as I started. I would sit behind her and every time I directed the enrgy she would shout 'stop it mummy!' She seems to like it more these days and will ask for reiki if she feels poorly. Oh that makes me sound really woo. I don't try to cure broken legs with homeopathy though, honestly.

OP posts:
Nemofish · 18/04/2010 16:17

sorry that should have been 'fell off her chair' not 'fell off her chari'

piratecat · 18/04/2010 17:35

ooh i got a crystal pendulum, i think that's an extra pt?

ooh,

i started training as a spiritual healer some yrs back.

love all this !!

Fliight · 18/04/2010 18:07

Ooh that is rather exciting, Nemo.

Maybe there is something in it.

Nemofish · 18/04/2010 20:09

Since I have started doing reiki, I have had so many interesting experiences.

There were lots of things that I used to dismiss as simply being too 'out there' but now I am not so sure. Spirit guides for instance, the idea used to make me chortle.

But since I have been doing reiki and felt someone standing shoulder to shoulder either side of me and pushing me lightly so I was swaying side to side, and since I have had people ask in treatment, erm , is that you holding my ankles? No, I've got both hands on your knees love! And I have had very clear voices in my head (yes I know, I know) telling me what to do in treatments and nudging me physically if I ignore them. Several times in treatments for myself and others I have had spirits helping me, and I swear that I am a) of reasonably sound mind and b) not pissed.

So now I am less dismissive of even the loopiest of ideas, because, well, you just never know, do you? But I would say that I only believe what I myself have had personal experience of.

OP posts:
BeenBeta · 18/04/2010 20:46

Nemo - when I was younger I would also certainly have dismissed the things I can do as loopy. I was not 'attuned' but always used to feel incredibly frightened near powerful electric motors and large bodies of water or swampy places.

My mother and me share powerful attractions to electricity and have both been badly electrocuted and hit by lightening. My mother cannot swim and I did not learn until 16.

DW just thinks I am weird - but as a scientist I can only explain it by assuming I have some kind of electric field round my body that I can sense disturbances in. Like a shark. Just because we do not understand something does not mean it does not have a rational basis. You may well have the power to detect and distort the surface electrical and internal ionic fields in other people - which you call chakra.

Abundantia · 18/04/2010 20:56

I'm really woo. I do oracle cards, reiki, wear crystals, burn incense, have a singing bowl, sage the house, I dowse to find things I've lost and I muscle test if I can't decide what to have in a restaurant! I've done past life releases and cleared all sorts of issues from this life.

I'm starting to see auras and I pick up on other people's energies, which isn't always great. I feel spirit around me and am claircognisant.

Other than that I'm just a normal mum who drinks way too much wine .

Nemofish · 18/04/2010 21:52

Abundantia at least you're not on the spirits...

BeenBeta yes definitely what I am able to feel / see is part of the body's electromagnetic field. I am convinced that one day we will be able to build technology that can see all the chakras etc the way that I see them.

Deffo an extra point for crystal pendulum, piratecat. Dh didn't know what they were and bought me 8 (!) for Xmas.

indigobarbie · 18/04/2010 22:18

LOL you guys! Thanks for a great thread
Time for me to come out of the closet I think, among lots of friends here ;)
I speak to angels, I do reconnective healing (another form of energy healing) I practise a few reiki types and am an angelic reiki master. I wear crystals and talk to those who no longer have bodies and have passed to the other realms. I do oracle cards, see visions in my mind, have scarily real dreams, feel as if I am flying most of the time when I am in bed! heheh, also in dreams. I'm interested in past lives, alternate therapies and have been keeping a blog of my experiences of the spooki kind - but I know there is no such thing as coincidence. Like Nemo said I too have experienced much more since practising reiki. It has somehow opened me up to being more intuitive and allowed me to experience some amazing things.
Nemo - have you read hands of light by barbara ann brennan? I don't see chakras like you do, but I can sense them and their colour. I also see etheric cords in peoples energy fields........away to get my coat

thumbwitch · 18/04/2010 23:47

Tarot - 2 points
Crystals - 2 points
Spiritualism - 3 points
Auras - 3 points
Homeopathy - 2 points
Reiki - 2 points
Reflexology - 2 points
Massage - 1 point
Health food / Holland and Barrett - 2 points
Grow yer own - (food that is) 4 points
Mind expanding hallucinogenics - 4 points
Peyote / mescalin - 5 points

Angel nick nacks - 10 points

How much more do I score for being a practitioner of some of the above? And is it 10 points per angel nicknack or 10 for having any?

My interest in hallucinogens/peyote is purely academic I have to add [boring]

Plus I also have some interesting books on the Wyrd and witchcraft, but again more from an academic interest (I just don't have the energy to do any of it!)

thumbwitch · 18/04/2010 23:50

indigobarbie - I have that book by Barbara Ann Brennan (and the other one, Light Emerging).

I also have energy-feel abilities, used to use them in my massage treatments. I used to explain it in quite prosaic terms to clients though, so that they would take it on board and not think I was being all "woo" and aeryfairy. Mostly worked, I think!

moonmother · 19/04/2010 09:04

ooh 20 points for a crystal ball that puts me up to 28 points

nemo I do have a website it's s247037995.e-shop.info/ this is the online shop (it's more updated than my website. Its on my list of jobs to do this week.

I've actually just come up with some new designs for crystal healing jewellery, which I'm working on at present.

As for woo points does have a pagan symbol tattoo give me any extra
