How many woo points do you score?!

This is firmly tongue in cheek...
Score yourself if you have an interest in / have done any of the following...

Tarot - 2 points
Crystals - 2 points
Spiritualism - 3 points
Auras - 3 points
Homeopathy - 2 points
Reiki - 2 points
Reflexology - 2 points
Past lives / past life regression - 4 points
Yoga - 3 points
Massage - 1 point
Health food / Holland and Barrett - 2 points
Grow yer own - (food that is) 4 points
Mind expanding hallucinogenics - 4 points
Peyote / mescalin - 5 points
If accompanied by tribal rituals, add 2 points

Add an extra 1 point per catergory that you scored on if you wear tie dye.

And another 1 point per catergory that you scored on if you have any books by Doreen Virtue

Dolphin nick nacks - 10 point
Fairy nick nacks - 10 points
Angel nick nacks - 10 points

Can I have points for cosmic ordering?
Or do I lose then for ordering an un-woo-like lottery win?

Nemofish · 17/04/2010 20:26

Cosmic ordering - 15 points
(well it's a bit mainstream now...)

I think I live near the world's woo-est shop. It is called Centre of Balance (2 points) and offers a range of therapies all of which make me laugh including COLOUR THERAPY (25 points). What does that involve?

Therapist: So what seems to be the trouble Mrs Woo?
Patient: I have asthma and diabetes.
Therapist: Well here is some blue. Look at that, I bet you feel better already. But for the diabetes you will be needing a particular shade of mauve, and damn me if it isn't extremely expensive to look at.

displayuntilbestbefore · 17/04/2010 20:46

rofl @ Centre of Balance

missmoopy · 17/04/2010 20:47
  1. Oh dear.
scottishmummy · 17/04/2010 21:01

derisory 3(yoga)this is list of quacky things i dont do.dont get all that new age shite at all

op omitted

  • chiropractors
  • nutritionists (except dieticians obv)
  • astrology
from the unsubstantiated mental as eggs list
Nemofish · 17/04/2010 21:15

Disagree scottishmummy - nutritionists are not woo enough, unless they encourage you to eat certain foods to balance your yin / yang energy. This is not to say that I am deriding the chinese energy yin/yang type business, but I think that that alone is unlikely to have a massive effect.

missmoopy - it's a slippery slope for you, lady

rolphing no really

BeenBeta · 17/04/2010 21:34

I once asked on another thread what 'being woo was' and was firmly told I wasn't. With 16 points I am now not so sure.

No points for divining underground water courses and power cables or being able to see Ley lines then - or is that not woo?

wooareyou · 17/04/2010 21:37

I was accused of witchcraft when dousing for waterpipes BeenBeta so yes, you would be woo too.

Nemofish · 17/04/2010 21:40

That sounds pretty woo BeenBeta.

Seeing ley lines - especially woo. 25points I think. I might give that a go myself - have a good record of being able to see energy.

OP posts:
seeker · 17/04/2010 21:40

'seeker - that amounts to just 1 boring old fart point. Soz. wink'

Bum. Thought as much.

What about knitting your own yoghurt?

Kaloki · 17/04/2010 21:46

Ooh, how about being dragged out of school (many moons ago obv) to be accused of cursing someone? Welcome to the Dark Side of Woo!

wooareyou · 17/04/2010 21:47

some woo would be really useful, for example teleporting the Crunchie from the fridge into my hand without having to walk through for it.

BeenBeta · 17/04/2010 22:04

Nemofish - you see energy? What is that like? Is it an aura like a glowing light?

The Ley lies I see are not like lines drawn on the ground. The line shows itself by the way it affects the topography, vegetation, animal tracks, even where humans unwittingly choose to put things. It seems really obvious to me but hard to describe.

CrankyTwanky · 17/04/2010 22:16

190!
Wooooo!

MmeLindt · 17/04/2010 22:19

3 woo points

Clearly unwoo

I would have had more if there was

aromatherapy
wheat pillows

MmeLindt · 17/04/2010 22:24

agree that we are also missing

chiropractic (had a ItsAMiracle! moment during pregnancy)

acupuncture (tried to avoid induction during same pregnancy, did not work, fainted on the poor midwife)

feng shui

qui gong (that is not how you spell it, is it?)

hazeyjane · 17/04/2010 22:26

Well from the original list I scored about 85 (I think).

There is another woo thread where I have listed some of my woo credentials.

Can I also add sleeping in a long barrow on Winter Solstice.

Oh hang on, I just saw Seekers post. I am down to a boring old fart score of 1 then, because I think nearly all these things were in my past.

DramaInPyjamas · 17/04/2010 22:46

Has dream interpretation been added to original list yet? That should be worth some woo points.

Nemofish · 17/04/2010 23:01

Crankytwanky with a score like that I think you need to leave this thread and go start your own spiritual movement, you must agree to teach ordinary mortals the universal wisdom that you have gleaned from the ascended masters et al. Go now, may the force of woo be with you!

Dream interpretation - gotta be a 10

BeenBeta - auras - like a haze around a person, can be one colour or different colours swirling, looks a bit like smoke. I see chakras as similar to a heat shimmer, in a cone shape coming out from the body. I have seen the outer edge of the aura, or is it the etheric body? can't remember which is which, as a white fuzzy circle extending approx 1 metre out from the body.

I see Reiki energy as a very distinct purple glow. I can buy reiki charged candles secure in the knowledge that if the shop is cheating me (with non reiki charged candles) then I'll know!

Ooh buying reiki charged candles - 15

Nemofish · 17/04/2010 23:02

I am nevertheless impressed by your level of woo hazyjane. Did anything happen? Did you see owt?

R4 · 17/04/2010 23:08

Is that the qui gong that was in Star Wars?
