Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

I am no longer worried about my mad post earlier. you lot are just plain crazy/ LOL!!

Oink flu here. First day of slight improvement in DD2. Still praying it will not affect DD3 as she seems to be relapsing slightly anyway.

Bit stressed here in positive house. Argumentative hormonal teenage girls feeling under the weather, but well enough to argue is not great for a peaceful house.

Love to you all

Swaliswan · 20/08/2009 21:42

I am off to bed now but didn't feel that I could go without saying thank-you for all of your prayers. God has definitely revealed himself to me today and I've even managed to have a short nap

PAO, thank-you for admitting that you start your prayers like that from time-to-time. It really helped knowing that someone else does that too!

Praise God, SS, I hope it wasn't in a burning bush

Prayers please for this job application... its taking hours, but I want to get it right. Thanks to God for Amber and the help she gives me too (and thank you to Amber as well!)

DutchOma · 21/08/2009 08:56

It was the children who called it a 'fering interbusybody' which doesn't sound quite so harsh.
And what is wrong with being crazy anyway?
So glad our prayers 'worked' Swaliswan. We know that God always hears our prayers, but it's good from time to time to notice that as well.

Mega tantrums from DS and myself this morning. Would welcome prayers of healing. The summer holidays have not been that good, in this respect.

CaptainDippy · 21/08/2009 09:29

Quick post ....

CaptainDippy · 21/08/2009 09:30

Hey Mary! xxxx

Notquitegrownup · 21/08/2009 12:27

SS - so glad that you are feeling better. I too have struggled with the fact that God doesn't always seem to understand the needs of a modern mum!

However, your post reminds me so much of 23 psalm - "The Lord is my shepherd - he makes me lie down in green pastures" Apparently in biblical times shepherds would roam the hills with their sheep, but when sheep get tired, they tend to keep on walking. So the shepherd had to tip them on their backs and tie their feet together to make them lie still!! Occasionally, I find myself flat on my back and smile wryly at this verse!

Just thought I'd share that!

God bless all.

ZipadiSoozi · 21/08/2009 12:37

Mary - Aw sorry you have had a rough patch this morning, prayers for a more peaceful afternoon! glad amber is a help for you.

HIA AMBER!!!! continued prayers for your family health.

CD - Indeedy, hope to meet you aswell, I can asure you, I only liar go mad in the evenings, you ought to see me on a full moon

SS - Just remembered we used to have 'Homestart' they were a huge support to me when I had depression from when twins were 12wks old to 5yo, she is actually visiting us this afternoon trip to park! lifetime friend.

Just been looking on internet for a quick get away, but can't be bothered to travel far, and we need peace, not bussling camping sites! may just stay home and relax although tomorrow supposed to be sunny so may take ourselves off for the day to our closest beach on east coast, maybe 'ingolmels' or 'chapel st leonards' its still 2+ hours away though

Happy sunny days for everyone

ZipadiSoozi · 21/08/2009 12:39

Hia NQGU - lol visions of you flat on your back feet up in the air tied together... baa baa ]

positiveattitudeonly · 21/08/2009 16:21

Hi all.
DD2 still got a curly tail, although slight improvement today. Thanks for the prayers.

Just had a rant after an incident where I admit Christian love did not shine through! Look here if you want to. Prayers would be appreciated for DD3, who has really struggled with being labelled as "disabled" and I think this has just sent us on a huge step backwards! I should have stayed calm and answered in a very loving, rational way, instead of the blurting I came out with! I was embarrassed for DD and I did not want to have to tell a whole car park about her illness! AIBU?

I hope today has been better for everyone else.

positiveattitudeonly · 21/08/2009 16:22

Love the picture of the sheep!!! I must remember that one

ZipadiSoozi · 21/08/2009 17:43

Pos - Aw prayers for you and your daughter, I shouldn't worry how you reacted was completely normal, you are only human, prayers for this lady to realise her actions upsetting your dd is absolutely intolerant.

DutchOma · 21/08/2009 18:02

So sorry to hear about your experiences at the garden centre PAO. So sorry for your daughter too, as if it is not enough to be so un-normal all the time, to have to make allowances etc, without people commenting so very unkindly.
I'm afraid I only skimmed the thread, so I don't know what is happening about school in a couple of weeks time.
Sorry to hear about curly tails too.

Mary, hopefully ds has calmed down a bit now and has given you some time to deal with the job application.

I had a very nice knitting day today and am going over to an alpaca mill to choose some yarn for a shawl on Thursday with one of my Ravelry buddies.

Job application has been shelved for today. I am starting to feel better now, but I feel exhausted. Its been one thing after another going wrong today. And yesterday too! I've drafted what I want to say, just need to fill in the paperwork after any final revisions.
