Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

Prayers all round. Lovely words from DO and such a strong message there.

Proud mummy moment.....was anyone watching God tv last night? Soul Survivor? Our DD2 was the one who spoke (briefly) about her time in South Africa with the little boy who clung to her and her cross.
Am I allowed to have proud mummy moments, or is that bad. I am sure God was smiling too!!

I pray that GOd speaks personally to each of you lovely ladies today no matter what situations you are facing.

amberlight · 16/08/2009 08:44

Prayers aye for everyone as I read through.
CC, such good news!!!
Here, had brilliant news about dh's health, got the office move done, and survived son's recent experiences with a gang turning up to a party and the riot police and ambulance involvement thereafter. I think we're ok. But could do with prayers that I never let myself get that exhausted ever ever again.

DutchOma · 16/08/2009 10:05

Amber, when's your next holiday? Sounds like you can do with one. Is son's friend out of hospital yet?

PAO, how lovely for you, of course you are allowed any number of proud mummy moments. To my shame I must admit I wouldn't even know how to find the God channels.

CC, how very, very good to hear your news. How could you ever think we would forget about you, dsis and dniece.

MaryBS · 16/08/2009 10:07

PAO, you are "boasting in the Lord", which is different, giving thanks for the Lord's presence in your family's life, and for the testimony they feel able to give!

amberlight · 16/08/2009 12:38

Nothing planned for another holiday yet, though might build up to one. Yes, son's friend is ok and out of hospital. Much prayer of praise for that.

JentlyDoesIt · 16/08/2009 18:01

Hello all you lovely lot, I am here, I have been praying, but working 5 days out of 7 from anything from 8am - 8pm is not having a good effect on my MN time

CC - what wonderful news for your dsis and esp your dneice how's the new house doing?

DO - what lovely words. Very thought making. I had a horrible day in the office on Thurs when my first call of the day was from a lovely man, calling to cancel his car insurance as he was in hospital with a brain tumour it really shook my whole day up.

All ok here, DD now walking DS very chatty... both enjoying nursery. DP miserable and bored at home but work won't let him back until the current situation is resolved I don't know what to do with him, all the DIY is done...

Much prayng for all, hope you are all enjoying the summer (what there is of it!) - will try to catch up more often

MaryBS · 17/08/2009 10:47

I am struggling with people at the moment, and would welcome prayers to help resolve conflict

MaryBS · 17/08/2009 13:34

Don't want to count my chickens, but have just heard incredible news, and want to PRAISE GOD! (no, its nothing to do with jobs)

DutchOma · 17/08/2009 14:18

Hope they hatch soon, Mary.

Prayer request from CEOLAS, a mumsnetter I also know through Ravelry (you know what a great KNIT I am):

She is now four days overdue with dc5 and would appreciate prayers for a speedy delivery. She's been 'creaking' since Saturday, but nothing much else is happening and her midwife has told her that the more children you have, the longer the labour.

Glad they are moving things alog quickly for him MJIM

Prayers for MN friend's DC5 to make a swift appearance DO - do let us know

positiveattitudeonly · 18/08/2009 13:21

Just read the last few posts and a couple of things really jumped to mind. MJIM, the NHS really do try to do that sort of thing quickly to cover all bases, not really just because they think there may be something badly wrong. They do understand that parents worry and will do it as quick as possible for that reason, too. Prayers for answers and solutions.

DO. My DS, which was birth number 5 was 1.5 hours of discomfort from being fast asleep to the birth. I asked to be allowed home 10 minutes before he arrived as I was convinced it was not labour. Don't let your friend believe that it will be bad!!! Be ready to catch instead!!! prayers for a quick and easy delivery.

Any hatching news Mary? Intriguing

Energy and patience prayers for mums of little one - and not so little ones too.

Happy Anniversary Sooz.

MaryBS · 18/08/2009 14:40

Well, the "hot hatching" news is that DH has said he'll attend church more often, and wants to attend confirmation classes, with a view to being confirmed!

Terrific news Mary!

Just flying by ladies as twins asleep, spoke to soon, baby monitor started sqwaling! Draft contracts gone back so fingers crossed! Thinsg chugging along in Foxy Manor, although not always as smoothly as the Oxo Family adverts!

Praying for everyone on here, hope you are all sharing this lovely sunshine!
