hello all

praying for you all, sorry I have not been around much of late, laptop problems, so have to use family computer when no-one else wants it (and DH and DC are often on it!)

going away for the weekend to the national conference of CBSI - the body I do bible study through on a Fri morning. It should be a time of good teaching and space to hear God, but I must admit 48 hours of not doing any cooking or meal planning is what I am looking forward to right now!

please pray that God will speak, and that I will actively listen.

JentlyDoesIt · 20/03/2009 20:41

Hello,

Amber - you sound like me, we are reeling from one disaster to the other at the mo - though not quite on your scale...

Sooz - 25 years - hurrah. I agree with DO (as I usually DO, with her being an extremely wise lady)

CF - what an exciting time for you, Oxford is lovely, 2 of my cousins studied there.

Now I am a little bit about asking for prayer but we have had a bit of a week and each of us needs a little help :-

For DD who has conjunctivitis and a cold and is still recovering from a sick bug which saw her in hospital for the day.

For DS who now has the sick bug and hasn't eaten properly all week though is bright enough in himself

For DP who had a vasectomy 3 weeks ago and went to the Dr today to be told his body is rejecting the knots and so is in a lot of pain and on very high ibuprufen.

For me who has infected cysts on my head and found a small lump on my neck this morning. I have seen a nurse practitioner who has given me antibiotics and said that the cysts will need to be surgically removed but is concerend about the lump on my neck. I see the Dr next tuesday

Thank you, hope everyone has wonderful weekends and sees some sunshine.

Swaliswan · 20/03/2009 21:23

Evening All,

Just wanted to come on very briefly to say thank-you for anyone who prayed for DD and her chickenpox. It's been a very tiring week looking after a poorly toddler whilst 34 weeks pg and it was very scary at one point when she had a very high temp, vomitted her calpol and then sat in her cot shaking I can't believe that we seem to be coming out the other side of it in one piece. Also, praise God that this baby is still on the inside safely tucked away from the chickenpox. Today is the exact gestation when DD was born so I'm now the most pg I have ever been! Two weeks tomorrow and I'll be considered term!

I haven't been able to keep up this week but I'll catch up over the next few days.

Night All x

DutchOma · 21/03/2009 08:12

Lord, we pray your healing over all problems great and small. Thank you so much that no problem is too big or too small for you.
And thank you Lord, that OJ is in the clear after having a cyst removed from her breast.
And thank you for the wonderful weather.

Please can you pray for us Mummies who dont have all our children with us, its days like today when i know i should have two cards and two presents....
I am also praying for the children of Jade Goody and Natasha Richardson who dont have their Mums with them today!

MaryBS · 22/03/2009 17:28

Lottie, that's lovely re: Wilf and his friend. I led intercessions at our church today, and included prayers for those parents who had lost children, whose children were missing (Andrew Godsden is still missing, after 18 months), those who had lost parents, and those who can't have children.

Hoping and praying you're all having a lovely mothers day!

Praying for all who have asked for prayer, and for those with no-one to pray for them

CaptainDippy · 22/03/2009 19:57

Definitely echoing those prayers LJ.

Hope you've all had a lovely days today mummies

ZipadiSoozi · 22/03/2009 23:09

Well I just got back from an 'Abba' tribute concert at Loughborough,(with 2dsis's and dmum) they were brill, Mary you just reminded me as did Abba, when I was childless,(premature menopause when 16yo) the songs brought back alot of sad memories that I'd erased out of my mind.

but... modern medical intervention and a lot of praying resulted in my 3 beautiful children whom I have had close by my side for 2 days and cannot thank God enough for.

Although been in bed most of day with ds2, high temp and the sniffles.

Thank you God for a lovely weekend with my beautiful precious family.

ZipadiSoozi · 22/03/2009 23:24

Gosh jently - poor you, you've been through the mill lately, prayers for a better week

justa - continued prayers for you and your family while your dad unwell, hope he recovers soon.

DO - Wow, didn't realise OJ has only just had her cyst removed, that was nearly a year ago she was worried about a lump. Prayers for her, I think about her often, how are her children?

SS - Aw prayers for you, glad dd now on the mend, quite frightening experience fo you, twins havent had chickenpox yet.

Panda - How did the conference go?

amber - sorry you're not having much luck this year, prayers for you all atm may God wrap you up in his care till your feet touch the ground again.

clockface - continued prayers for your moving and school issues.

Well off to bed now, off to bed.

amber32002 · 23/03/2009 06:45

Prayers for all the situations listed here as I read through your messages.

ZipadSoozy, Jently, thanks. We know we're facing a trip to the vets tomorrow that none of us want to make. Dogs shouldn't be that big a part of a family's lives, but they are, and she's been such a support for us over the years. We just SO don't need this stress to add to all we've just been through. I feel as if I hardly have the energy to smile any more. Prayers definitely appreciated for us as a family. I'm trying so hard not to worry about the effect this will all have on dh.

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2009 07:22

Thinking of you today amber. xx

Awwww Sooz, you are lovely Praise God for your beautiful little ones

OP posts:
DutchOma · 23/03/2009 08:37

Oh Amber...May the Lord hold you and bless you, may He smile on you and for you through all the sadness and give you peace.

amber32002 · 23/03/2009 13:57

Well, we may have a reprieve, if the vet agrees tomorrow. There may be a mobility-cart option that we hadn't really considered before, since she's not in any pain. At least it's given me a bit of hope to get me to tomorrow.

MaryBS · 23/03/2009 19:00

My job interview is at 2:10pm tomorrow. Please pray that God's will be done in this, that if I am offered the job, then that is the job I should accept. And give me the grace to accept that if I don't get it, that is God's will too. I have a strong sense that God is taking care of me - well I know that anyway, but I can FEEL it too. That I'm not to worry, He has a plan.

Prayers being said for all of you...

I am having problems at work, in the time I have left. I was given YET MORE work to do by the time I leave (31 March).

CaptainDippy · 23/03/2009 21:33

Will be praying Mary. xx

Hope there is hope for your dog amber. xx

Good morning. Flying by with prayers for all.

Mary - will be praying for peace for you today. Any news on Wegiemum, btw?

Mufti - thinking about you this morning.

Continuing to think of Leannabanana's little neice, and all of those who have asked for prayer on this thread.

God bless, all.

Clockface · 24/03/2009 12:40

Praying for all of us, esp. Mary.

BouncingTurtle · 24/03/2009 13:51

Flying visit to say I'm thinking of you all in my prayers.

This week the training is particularly hard on me and ds - it is from 7pm to 11pm and I'm taking live calls. Poor little ds was very upset and didn't want me to put him down in his cot at bedtime (at 6:45) so I had to leave crying to downstairs and log on to my pc and all the apps I needed for the training. He soon went to sleep though but woke up a couple of times and daddy went up to soothe him but it was only a temporary abatement. It was hard as I could just hear him crying but I couldn't go to him. I've got this all week as well, and DH will be late back tonight which will make it difficult.
Once I start work for real, I won't work before 7.30 and will finish at 10pm at the latest as it is hard on ds . He woke up 4 times as well last night which meant I was shattered this morning, but I think he was needing extra reassurance I would go to him. Pray that God watches over my precious boy when I can't go to him.

Hello all,

Went to the Dr today and he seems to think that the lump on my neck is an infected lymph gland - mega doses of anti b's for the next 3 weeks and a referral to the hospital to have all the cysts removed asap.

Could you also pray for my job situation? I have an interview on Thursday a.m. One of the agencies I signed up with sent my CV to one of their clients, just on spec and it turns out that their client is someone I used to deal with a lot at my old job Apparently he called the agency within 5 mins of getting the email and wants to see me! Fingers crossed and lots of prayers that it turns out well...

Prayers for everybody

MaryBS · 24/03/2009 15:50

Am not expecting to get the job, as it seems they want an accountant (so why interview me then?), but it wasn't a bad interview as interviews go. I answered their questions as best I could, but what can you do when they say "What accounting packages have you used?" None!

... just got the call, I didn't get it. I didn't have the technical knowledge required.

Notquitegrownup · 24/03/2009 16:23

Aw poo, Mary! at them interviewing you when they were looking for something different. Your CV/letter of application must have been so good that they felt they had to see you . . .

Prayers that you will still feel that you are in God's hands and that He is looking after you.

amber32002 · 24/03/2009 16:34

Alas, there wasn't hope for our beloved dog. and she's no longer with us. Prayers that dh and ds will cope after all we've been through already, if you would??

Prayers continuing for everyone.
