Praying for you Sooz. Glad they don't want to operate, and pray that dh's arm will fix itself in super speedy time . I used to work on orthopaedics at QMC!

Praying MrsMH and M44

DS1 has an ear infection so he has now started on anti-biotics, just as ds2 finishes his .

Praying for your dd dippy and hope she has a wonderful party tomorrow. DS2 vommed all over me after his bedtime feed, I think he just coughed and was a bit too full-up from the pudding dh rammed down him fed him

CaptainDippy · 27/02/2009 20:32

How are you feeling now? Am praying. xx

No Soooz, not "pull yourself together". You are going through a real 'desert time' right now & you have every right to feel and I wish there was more I could say or do to help you; but I assure you that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am soooo frustrated on your behalf. It is completely unfair and completely shit and I would be feeling pretty low & desperate if I was in your situation.

Evening CC I hope she is ok for party tomorrow too. She went to school ok today & her teacher said she had been fine all day. she started flagging and being a bit "wibbly" again about 5pm; so she was in bed asleep at 6.30 this evening, bless! Let's hope she wakes up refreshed and ready to rock 'n' roll!

Good morning all.

Sooz - thinking of you and praying for a big solution (or lots of little solutions) to get you through the next couple of months.
(Can ds1 help you with a few of dh's best customers at the weekends, to keep them happy? Is he old enough for a part time job now, or is it 14?) Thinking of you all.

M44 - praying.

NSFN for the new job. Prayers for dd's continuing recovery and for df.

God bless all.

MaryBS · 01/03/2009 08:00

Could do with some prayers, AND some help on prayer, if anyone has anything I could use!

I have to prepare a presentation on a theologian (Miroslav Volf) AND prepare and lead a Lent study group on Prayer by next week.

I've led a workshop on prayer before, but would like something "different" which would have cross-generational appeal (30-80 sort of age group), if anyone has any ideas!

The theologian is proving to be heavy going - I have to make it understandable AND relevant to a theme of "inviting the stranger into our lives" or similar. I have his books, but I need to go through them, pull out the relevant info and shape it into a presentation

I also hope and pray my headaches stay away! Argh!

CaptainDippy · 01/03/2009 08:10

Ooooh, Mary, big stuff! I'll ask DH is he has any ideas- he is great at that sort of stuff

Hope it goes well fory ou and your family today MJIM - Thank you God for lovely Naomi!!

DD1's Party ROCKED - went so smoothly & a good time was had by all. I'm just gutted we didn't put the memory card back in the camera Bum. There's a few pics from others though, so not so bad

If you get the chance to "listen again" Rev Ruth Scott was on Radio 2 at 7.30 this morning, she was talking about losing a child and she mentioned Mumsnet as well as Shabs and I from the Bereaved Mums thread. Aled also read my email a few minutes after. I had asked him to play this song and he has said he will play it next week.

Hello all,

Just popping on quickly to ask for prayer this morning please! I am preaching in the "desert experience". I really hope it will touch people's hearts. Thank you!

M44 · 01/03/2009 13:46

Thank you for your prayers-I got through the service without crying this morning. DId that dreadful thing of switching off and gritting my teeth to get through, rather than pray, chill and let God-I just couldn't face being 'public' today!
Praying for all as we start the new week.....x

amber32002 · 01/03/2009 16:07

Prayers for everyone as I read through.

DH has had a weekend away with me to try to relax, and it seems to have worked really well, so praise be that we've had the chance to enjoy the start of spring together instead of the outcome we were both fearing such a very short time ago

CaptainDippy · 01/03/2009 17:59

Glad it has worked well amber How's DH doing?

Beautiful song, LJ ... made me cry a lot.

CD, Beth Nielson Chapman is an amazing lady, she lost her husband to cancer and has had cancer herself too. I was introduced to her music by a late and much missed friend...

SweetestThing · 01/03/2009 18:50

Hello, everyone.

Lots of us needing prayers at the moment. I pray we all find the strength and wisdom to do the right things.

Amber, hope your weekend away heralds the start of a new, positive relationship with DH.

John Bell from the Iona Community preached at our church today and I felt so thankful that God sends people like him amongst us, to lift our spirits, challenge our thoughts and bring us together with each other. It made me realise I have neglected this thread recently, so I'm going to try and visit more regularly.

Thank you for your prayers for our friend who died recently - his funeral was on Friday and it was a good celebration of his life.

MaryBS · 01/03/2009 19:59

John Bell is fabulous! Am slightly as I find him one of the most inspirational speakers I have EVER heard!

SweetestThing · 01/03/2009 20:05

He was amazing, MaryBS :-D

I had actually met him years ago, when he was rector of my university, so we had a good chat about uni.

I think we recorded his service this morning.

CaptainCaveman · 01/03/2009 20:12

Sooz - no date yet, just waiting for surveys etc to take place . Hope and pray something good turns up soon for you and dh.

Back to work tomorrow after 9 months off . I have to leave my little munchkin at nursery . Have decided to just to chill out about his lack of formula drinking, and let God handle it His way . No point in getting stressed about it as that will only prove counter-productive.
