Anybody ever used a ouija board?

I posted this thread under the chat section last night. 'Met' some interesting people - but didn't really get much by way of answering my questions. There was a suggestion that I re-post under this topic - so here goes;

Has anybody on here ever used a ouija board?

Did it work?

what happened?

would you do it again?

Oooh expat.
That's a good warning if ever I read one!

Bad experience?

No b/c I never bothered with those things. My gran warned me off by telling me what they really are: portals for just about any spirit to come through. Like she said, would you leave your front door thrown wide open all night? No? Then why do it on a spiritual level.

And she was a formidable woman, my gran.

Let's not forget, demons are spirits, too.

There's no fucking way I'd even be under the same roof w/one of those things.

So I guess you really believe all that kind of stuff then?
Ghosts etc?

Yes, I do. That's the short answer.

I'd never do a seance, either. If a spirit wants to communicate with you, it doesn't need a sceance to do it.

What I heard, is, that it is far more dangerous to use a Ouija board on your own that with someone else. Apparently you are more vulnerable on your own.
And if you do make contact with a spirit, you have no way of knowing if they are who they say they are.

slightly off, but linked i think, i went thru this whole try to contact sprits phase years ago. i used to do this thing i had read about where i would visualise a flight of 10 steps, with me at the top and a chair at the bottom, facing a door. i would then visualise myself going down the stairs (i would count down 10 to one) and sitting in the chair, watching the door.

I then - every time - used to get scared and open my eyes.

have you heard of this as an actual means of communication or was i a daft sod with an over-active imagination? i do wonder what would have opened that door.

//[[[[shudder]]]] at that thought.

Going off the subject totally, could have done with you on a thread I started earlier. Trying to find somewhere I can buy some Chanel foundation a bit cheaper. I know you've mentioned some good beauty sites in the past.

Hi-jack over!

Don't want to hi-jack this thread but the thread is in Style if anyone wants to help Smile

Not now I understand.
My eyes are shutting as I type.

The day before my father died, my sister was sitting at her computer when she heard 3 sharp taps at her window. She ignored it but at the back of her head she knew it was to do with death and spirits. When I asked her how come things like that never happened to me, she said it was because spirits knew I was scared shitless of things like that and wouldn't come bothering me!

Hiya all. I posted earlier. Just been chatting to DH about his ouiji experience. He said it was about that time that one of the two friends he did the ouiji with, started experiencing paranormal activities at his home. Like coming home (no-one been home all day, he was the last one out) and finding a photo of himself on the stairs, or sitting in the lounge on his own and a picture of himself that was on the mantlepiece flew across the room and hit him. Feeling he was being watched all the time in the house. They didn't do the ouiji in that house though.

expat - what about my staircase/chair/door thing? any thoughts? heard of it?

Report
expatinscotland · 18/03/2006 23:39

can't say i've heard of that, MTPW, but i wouldn't want to find out who'd open said door. and if i were going to concentrate that hard, it'd be on visualising myself as a lotto jackpot winner Wink.

are tarot cards portals too for spirits, expat?

Report
expatinscotland · 18/03/2006 23:40

they can be, girl. not as easy as a ouija board, but yes, they can be.

Ouija Board - absolutely no.

Tarot (and other) cards - best not to treat as a game, but they can at least be used with safety, unlike Ouija.

MTPW - what you describe is the beginnings of a basic meditation exercise. You wouldn't open your eyes and see spirits, but taught and used correctly it could put you into a light trance when spirit contact would be easier.

this whole thread made me shudder, I have never used an ouija board because sprits and demons and all that scare the sh*t out of me. Its dangerous...

girlchick · 18/03/2006 23:41

So how do you contact good spirits?

Report
expatinscotland · 18/03/2006 23:41

that's why they need to be handled by someone who knows what they're doing and has taken the appropriate steps before using them.
