Anybody ever used a ouija board?

I posted this thread under the chat section last night. 'Met' some interesting people - but didn't really get much by way of answering my questions. There was a suggestion that I re-post under this topic - so here goes;

Has anybody on here ever used a ouija board?

Did it work?

what happened?

would you do it again?

I also remember the people I worked for telling me of an incident when they went on holiday. The next door neighbours were away somewhere as well, and someone came to look after their house, and they said to them afterwards that they couldn't believe how noisy next door was - kids running up and down, banging, laughing - all night long, non stop. Woman then said: "That's impossible, they were on holiday, and noone was there". They refused to believe it as it was sooooo bad, and to this day, they don't know what was going on in their house. Their kids were well behaved as well, and certainly wouldn't have been allowed to be up all night causing havoc. Probably haunted by the spirits of locked up people / kids. God knows.

used ouija board once, but can't really remember much happening, so can't really answer that one, BUT I did have a weird experience in the house where I worked as an au-pair... The cottage was named "The Old Lock Up" and I think it was used 500 years ago or whatever for locking up people in basement. One day I was doing the washing and when I ironed all the clothes I went to the kids rooms to put their clothes away. One room had kind of bunk beds, with loads of toys undernath one of the beds. I was putting the clothes away when I felt a "presence". I looked under the bed, and there were EYES looking at me - NOT cats eyes! I froze!!! All of the family was downstairs and we didn't have any animals, and there was nowhere for any of them to get in anyway. I gently walked backwards, and closed the door then shot downstairs. I think I was so shocked that I couldn't say much. Took the "father" upstairs, but when we came in, not only that the eyes dissapeared, but the light was now ON! I still shiver when I remember that. Few weeks went by and nothing like that happened then one night, came home when everyone was in bed. Sneaked upstairs, just about to go to sleep, then heard a BABY CRYING outside my door. First thoughts: cat outside being really loud, or one of the kids heard me and playing a practical joke. It was crying so loud, I felt it was going to come in! As soon, and I mean, as soon as I touched the door handle to open the door, the crying stopped. I checked kids rooms and they were snoring away. Very spooky...

girlchik- her name is sue and she is in northampton. her partner also has a gift and can see people and is into crystals and potions. they are out of this world and knew things that was 100% guaranteed to be geneuine and they have no way of knowing things or finding them out
for example- she described my nan to my aunt as having a sreak of grey hair at the front that swept to the left. Shock she couldnt of known that , never met my nan or seen pictures. she also told my aunt that my nan understood why she told the little white lies she did and that she wasnt angry with her. my aunt had told my nan when asked that she wasnt seeing this married man and she had been. she just didnt want to upset her . its too freaky and im not sure if i would be able to copeSmile

Thanks Learning. My DD bought it me last year for mother's day (she not really knowing what it was - doubt I would have bought it myself) as I love angels and fairies. We've only got nice messages from it, via our guardian angels. We ground and protect ourselves before and after usage - and it feels nice when we're using the board. We were told we were all Vikings in a past life and knew each other then in old Norse times.

my friends and family offten use the same tarrot card reader and she is unbelieveable. i believe that some people must be able to see or sense things from their 6th sense but i have used a ouijaboard and its all rubbish . i think that its crap that a bit of cardboard with letters on can really tell you anything. i think that this kind of thing is a gift and not just anyone can tune into it .
IMO Smile

I've used an Angel Board, which I suppose is a kind of ouija board but it puts you in touch with your guardian angels/spirit guides and works for your highest good and enlightenment. We always protect ourselves before using, and clear with sage when finished. We've had positive results from the board - it's given us our guardian angel's names and one of the guys has a guardian angel who was his brother in a past life and he comes through with 2 brothers and their mum. If used sensibly and with respect it's amazing.

wow never done it myself because....
my mum when she was still living at home used to have to babysit the younger 5 kids and when my nan and grandad came home fromthe pub drunk they used to do the ouija board to scare the crap out of my mum [my nan was in the middle of a breakdown at hte time she is not hte nicest person] but not long after she met my dad
they were doing the board one night and it asked for dawn [my mum] and went on to say in six weeks time her heart! would break in a motorbike crash
obvviously she was petrified my dad rode a motorbike and low and behold 6 weeks later he was knocked off his bike and broke his leg shattered his pelvis and damaged three of his vertabrea and then after 6 months made a mircaulous recovery
must say thois tory has always scared the life out of me my nan confirmed it last year
but must say find spirits initimidating and since i got pregnant have had severe nightmares after watching most haunted!

I have been scaring myself reading this! I also came across something on the internet about "Black Eyed Kids" which freaked me out.

Thanks for that link Socci, it explained a lot for me.

WabbitITHL, my DH doesn't keep in touch with the 2 friends he did the ouija with, and it's one of his friend's who has the photo. So I haven't seen it, but he swears on his life it's true.

Expat - I think you talk a lot of sense, having always been 'sensitive' I used to get bothered by negative entities especially if I was emotionally upset.

I have used ouija board in the past - but knowing what it's like now I'm more protected I'd never risk openning the portal and weakening my defences now

Can't relate my story as it's so late and I'm on my own and getting that skin crawley feeling. Best leave it for now.

girlchick - I spent a year in a house where this kind of happenning (pics moving, switches being turned on, buttons pressed) was practically daily, I think it was more a release for my own kinetic energy than 'spirits' or 'ghosts' moving things and knocking on doors... When I moved the experiences continued in the new house.

Just found your first post, about the candles... spooooky. Urgh, I wouldn't like that! Has he still got the photo?

girlchick - what a horrible story. Frightening enough to put me off them forever more! I did them occasionally as a child (my friend had seen her parents doing them at dinner parties and of course she thought it was a game) - I would never dream of doing such a thing now. I do remember doing it once with an ex-boyfriend. Nothing happened but the letters we used moved out of place and span round.

Sorry, I was referring to gc's post. The reader you mention sounds more ethical.

I see ouija (or at least the technique) as a gateway. It can be difficult to control and there are better and more controllable methods of contact. The best of these is spiritual development, preparing yourself to be able to understand and handle spiritual contact. It is something that can be very difficult to adjust to and is not a step taken lightly.

I am aware that they are not supposed to say the bad things.

Going back to my original ? are there an positives to Ouija boards?

Report
learning · 19/03/2006 00:20

SG are you referring to my post or GC's. Just interested!

Decent readers don't tell you 'bad things are going to happen' and they don't clam up and refuse to divulge any further either.

There are ethics and morals involved in Tarot (or any type of spiritual) reading and this woman clearly broke them - or more likely didn't have a clue what she was talking about.

The friend I talked about hadn't been given much hope medically to start with but it was just strange that the reader saw what she saw without knowing anything about her

GC I wouldn't worry too much and would suggest staying positive about whatever she said. I had a tarot reading some 20 years ago and took it all to heart and none of it happened.

Oh no. Now I'm going to worry more learning! She got loads of stuff right about me as well that there was no way she could have known, my career, my DH. She did say my DP and I would have children, so I knew then we had a future together! She talked about my past lives, which I don't believe in at all, but it was wierd coz the past lives she mentioned did accurately reflect what my interests are now

GC I spoke to a friend some days ago who lost a family member and she had her tarot read a few months before her passing. She didn't show in her future at all. All the reader saw was her husband on his own. The reader didn't tell her she was going to die but that she saw her husband on his own.
