Tell us about an amazingly accurate reading. Medium, tarot etc

Mine was knowing very specific details and names that were very unusual. Also told me about adult dcs future work. Again specific. This particular reader is so hard to get an appointment with so doubt I'll get in again? All came true.

Has anyone else had a great reading?

Years ago in the 1990s I saw this amazing Medium in Newcastle.
The first thing she said was I see a big ginger cat on your shoulders & he’s asking who’s the black & white bugger that’s taken my place.
My ginger cat had died earlier that year (the only cat I’ve ever had who used to drape himself on my shoulders). We rescued a black & white cat shortly after. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wasn’t covered in cat hair before anyone asks.
She was also interviewed for the local news because for the first time ever in her career she told someone she was going to win the lottery & they did.

Did her name begin with R? I saw one from Newcastle who was phenomenal. Years ago too. I think she had something to do with tv? She did tarot.

@IDontLikeMondays88 that's specific. Not related but what career did your friend end up with?

@Bayroot1- no that wasn’t her - her initials were JD. I was very sceptical before I went in by the way - thought the whole psychic, medium business was a load of tosh until she told me that!

Aw nice to know your cat was around you. __

I’ve had a couple of medium readings that were very accurate and I’ve no explanation as I didn’t disclose any information at all. Both were around 28 years ago. The first described in detail the domestic violence I had recently experienced. The second described a male stood behind me, wearing a motorcycle helmet and said he was ‘mangled internally’. My boyfriend had died in a motorbike accident several years earlier from internal injuries.

Bayroot1 · 22/10/2025 15:17

@Wemdubz I'm so sorry you went through so much.

Aw thank you that’s kind of you. My readings were scarily accurate and I wish I still had the recordings as I can’t remember all the other things that were said to me.

I saw a fortune teller in a shopping mill, 50 miles from where I lived. This was on a Wednesday.
He was the 7th son of the 7th son etc.
The only question he asked was 'do I believe'
The things he told me about the family was quite accurate.
Married first love.
Two children boy and girl (also mentioned our stillborn)
DH was a great sportsman in his field. (Not famous) m

Then he told me that the family have a great connection with Canada. No sorry that's wrong.
Again he insisted that it was my side of the family.

Went home and the next night Thursday went to see my mum. As I went in she told me that my youngest brother
who was in the military had phoned the night before to say that Wednesday afternoon the platoon had been informed of the next posting to CANADA.
The time he was told was nearly the same time I had the reading.

Ps brother came out of the military and retired to Canada.

I am generally quite a sceptic - but...

About 25 years ago, this woman I worked with recommended what she called a 'therapist' to me, she was extolling her virtues, saying how wonderful she was.

I went along, not really believing but prepared to buy into anything that happened. This woman was amazing! She started telling me about some friends of mine and named them. She told me to watch out for one of them (and was proved right, in time).

I can't really describe her without resorting to cliche - she seemed to look right through me, and seemed to understand me. I was happily playing along until she named names of people I knew...I remember my heart dropped to my feet, do you know what I mean? I was stunned. I meant to go back but I never did... I'm not sure I wanted to be 'read' so comprehensively. I have never forgotten it though. I can't explain it but she knew things that I doubt she could have guessed at.

My sister went to a medium in London. He told her very quickly that she was there to contact (name of her former partner) and that he had hanged himself. After a lot of other details that were correct, he said that he would have to end the session and was refunding her, as (partner’s name) was taking over the session. That was exactly what he was like in life.

That was good of him. But he didn't sound as if he was disciplined. I hope she got some comfort?

I went along with my dm to a medium just to keep her company.
She gave me some cards and told me to put them face down in a circle.
She never asked me anything , just turned over each card and told me what the picture said.
Dh had just been promoted within the civil service.
She looked at one card and said a man in your life has got a new job, with more money but it's still the same company.
She told me a male death whilst not close would upset me greatly, my friend had a stillbirth and it was a boy.
She said there was a little girl in my future and 5 years later i had dd.
Nothing dramatic but she had never met me before, I didn't live near dm, there was no Internet.
And she actively took no interest in me except for what the cards told her, it was as if the cards were in writing.
If she was a fraud then she was jolly clever.

Poobs2022 · 22/10/2025 16:14

I saw one once and she described my mums eternity ring and said it was in a box under a bed, which it was. I knew her through work but I never wore the ring and she wouldn't have known about it.

InteriorPond · 22/10/2025 16:19

The reason so many posters are on this thread are recalling uncannily accurate ‘readings’ is very simple.

Faulty recall. It happened a while ago, you’ve (unconsciously) forgotten some of the wide of the mark guesses and amplified the vaguely plausible ones.

I’ve said this on here before. My mother, many years ago, newly married, went with her sister to see a highly-regarded local ‘psychic’. When we were growing up, she used to recount all the things this psychic had magically ‘foreseen’ — the number, sex and birth order of her unborn children, highly specific dates and events, jobs and travels and addresses etc etc. Many years later, we found the notes my aunt had taken at the time at the bottom of a handbag down the back of a wardrobe. And of course the ‘psychic’ had predicted none of the things my mother remembered her predicting. It was the usual jumble of vague guesses and things anyone able to cold read could have come up with.

You just reminded me.
Years ago when going through divorce I couldn't find my marriage certificate. A medium said "Are you looking for your marriage certificate?" I said yes. She said it's in a grey or silver box in your loft. Exdh had forgotten he'd put stuff there. And she was right.

@InteriorPond yeah sounds shit. Although I did ask for amazing readings. I'm wondering if some mumsnetters can't read? 🤣

Can see why you say that @InteriorPond but I still have the notes I took in the 90’s & this medium was spot on.

SeaAndStars · 22/10/2025 16:28

Twenty years ago I went for a tarot reading thinking it would be a bit of fun. The moment I sat down the woman turned over cards and started telling me, in minute detail, about a situation that was happening in my life. She told me details of conversation, the characters involved, places, information about money that nobody else could possibly have known. It was such a shock I burst into tears - absolutely not like me. She also told me about two things that would happen in the future - right down to timescales - that have both happened. At the time I had no idea they were on the cards (literally) for me and if someone had suggested them I'd have said no in the strongest terms. She also described a woman who was always there for me - right down to a very original hairstyle, colouring, piece of jewellery and accent - the woman was a family member to whom I was very close who had died several years before.

As an aside, before this incident two friends and I met Derren Brown before he was famous. He was wandering around a bar in Bristol offering to do 'readings' and 'hypnotise' people. Us three young women offered and so he started up his spiel - a few minutes in he asked me to sit down because I wasn't suitable (can't really remember his exact words). I think he knew I thought it was all bullshit and would resist. It worked on my friends. That's why I was so surprised when the tarot reading thing turned out so amazingly.

Never done it since as I can't think anything else could ever be so mind blowingly odd and accurate.

Bayroot1 · 22/10/2025 16:39

@SeaAndStars no need to have another one unless you feel the need in the future. Sounds amazing.

There is something in the Tarot that is unexplainable. I find it useful but not for future predictions more for unraveling what I already add u know subconsciously. Synchronicity rather than psychic phenomena

She said there was an Italian lady shouting in her ear and gave me my money back…. I have a dead Italian grandmother and I don’t look Italian at all

I've dabbled with tarot. I don't spend enough time studying it though. Anyway I did a short reading for a friend. I said to her why is this reading coming out as if it's for your ds (adult)? She admitted she'd asked in her head for him! Wasn't a favourable reading and it came true. Although you didn't need to be psychic to know that.
They're more guidance though and we all have free will.

I wonder what she was shouting? Was she trying to warn about something?

I'm in my late 60's now and in my youth I visited a couple of "fortune tellers". Both of them end of the pier kind of jobs. It was with mates for a laugh really. They were just the sort of crap you would expect. Anyway, in 1997 I visited a clairvoyant in Bristol with a good reputation. My then MIL paid for me to go as a Christmas present, although I was reluctant. I can emphatically say that I will never, ever visit her or any other clairvoyant ever again. What she told me was so accurate, both past and future, that it actually scared me. There was no social media back then - or at least it was miniscule and I didn't even have the internet anyway. I'm not famous or even well known for anything anywhere. I'm just ordinary.

Bayroot1 · 22/10/2025 17:21

@ginasevern that's a shame it unsettled you. Did you even want a reading? You were reluctant for a reason. Maybe you're psychic and knew it'd be too much? 😉 Actually we all are ( yes even all you naysayers)
