We are away for a week, by the sea. Its wonderful, I miss it so much where we live now. I can hear it, taste it in the air and smell it. I am just about to go to the end of the garden of this wonderful cottage, and greet it. And breathe in the energy.

speakout · 07/10/2023 08:00

Good morning.
It's so dark this morning, really starting to feel like autumn now..
I'm just about to start my morning rituals, but have switched on the heating for a little boost first.

Interesting to read about the rage, In her book Hagitude Sharon Blackie discusses rage in middle aged women being released as a lifetime of being bottled up, being told no, being silenced because we are women. That the fire of the menopause is an outpouring of injustice, inequity, of being managed and moulded by a male dominated world. It makes for very interesting reading.

LuciaPillson you could make a crystal grid, carry a crystal, use them to stir drinks, keep by the bedside, charge a crystal in spellwork, pop in the bath or water to wash, use on your altar, hold during meditation, place on the body part that has pain as you lie, make into a pendulum I am sure there are many more.

The sea is so very special isn't it. I grew up with the sea close by, and I have never lived far from it. I will pass it this morning on my way to Body Balance.
Standing at the shoreline and looking out I feel so connected. The sea touches all coastlines all over the world. One cup of water contains molecules of water that have touched the shores of Greenland and Brazil, India and Alaska. Water has evaporated and rained down on distant places, joined rivers, irrigated crops and found its way back to the sea. The sea can be calm and soothing, but can rage and crash. And it is so so healing.

It has been another roller coaster week, but I have survived. I have acted within my boundaries and have been able to stay within my authenticity. It feels like balm to my soul.
My niece has gone home abroad, it has been so good to see her and her little family. We were both sad as we said goodbye. We live so far apart that meeting only happens once every few years- I am so glad we have internet,

I am off for a spa shower, I have some Lime essential oil- which reminds me of tropical shores- and a lavender candle to burn while I dress and do some glamour magic. My order from This Works arrived yesterday, so I will use them too. My DD bought me some This Works products a few years ago as a christmas gift and I have used them daily- and bought a lot more- since then.

I can hear the rain battering the windows, it will be a wet drive this morning.
Have a magical weekend sisters.

Well my weekend is fcked. All trains cancelled from Edinburgh to London...because of rain. I wish they would design waterproof ones!!
Am so so disappointed

speakout · 07/10/2023 08:46

Hedjwitch oh no ! I am sorry to hear that.

SeaEssence · 07/10/2023 13:30

@Hedjwitch oh no! Do you have other means to travel or did you have to cancel?

@Probablymagrat have a nice time off!

We seem to have Indian summer back, 22 degrees and sunny in the South East. Off for an afternoon walk with family shortly.

On the topic of travel, I'm off to the US for work soon - but as usual I made sure I'd have a bit of time for myself 😊 Is there anything witchy either worth seeing in NYC, or buy/bring from the States? Other than halloween decor - I can't wait for that!

VioletCharlottte · 07/10/2023 13:59

Hedjwitch** oh no, what a shame! No chance of getting a cheap flight? I can't believe it's been cancelled because of rain. Im going to York next weekend in the train and a bit worried they may announce a strike or something. Public transport in the Uk is appalling.

Hedjwitch · 07/10/2023 15:54

All cancelled. Absolutely gutted. Probs wont get a refund from the accommodation at such short notice.

VioletCharlottte · 07/10/2023 17:07

Well, there must be something in the air Hedjwitch as two of the friends I'm meant to be going away with next weekend have just test positive for Covid. I think its unlikely they'll be better by Friday so my weekend away may well be cancelled too. I'm so sorry you're was ruined, it's so disappointing 😢

LuciaPillson · 07/10/2023 18:24

So sorry about the ruined weekends :(

Loving everyone's descriptions of the sea, I can't be by the sea but am enjoying it vicariously through your words and remembering the energy from the times in the past that I have been walking on beaches and soaking it all up. Once when I went to visit some friends at the seaside they took me down to meet the sea at night, so it was just the energies, sea air and sound of the waves without being able to see it yet... very powerful! Then lovely of course when I finally did see it.

@speakout Thanks so very much for these suggestions! I have advanced cancer and it's occurred to me to do something with my crystals and these seem like great simple things. I have also found a nice candle spell on someone's witchy blog, for cancer healing, and plan to adapt it to what I have in the house and add in a crystal or two.... if I get the energy to do it! Hugs to you! 💗

Craftycorvid · 07/10/2023 18:27

So sorry for the ruined travel plans. Apparently there is severe flooding in Scotland. Meanwhile in my part of northern England, it is too balmy for October, the leaves are just shrivelling rather than changing colour and it’s all out of place.

@speakout you write so beautifully! I hope your glamouring is therapeutic. Some glamour magic is overdue in my world. I think I may do a sheet mask facial tonight.

My day has been about escorting Mr C for an appointment in town and for lunch. He does a bit, has a sleep, does a bit more - and that’s how we go! I’m plotting my way back into my work and figuring it all out as I go. I miss the connection with a magical circle so we are hosting a house moot next week just for a few friends - it’s a beginning!

Peaceful times, all.

EmmaEmerald · 07/10/2023 20:54

Sorry for ruined travel plans
hope ISay is feeling better

i lost my thread of connections this week. Lots of stressful things happened and I just kept walking by the altar saying, talk later….and then really paid the price but got back in tune this morning.

I do think having an altar hidden away is problematic in that way. Maybe I should rethink that and if people see it, they see it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ISaySteadyOn · 08/10/2023 20:54

@Hedjwitch , I'm sorry about your weekend. That's just not fair.

@EmmaEmerald I am better, thank you. I will be able to collect DS from school tomorrow which I haven't been able to do for almost two weeks. Ankle braces are marvelous things.

I would ask about salves but I still don't want anyone to touch it at all.

DH got me a wonderful book, more of a compendium, about plants. It's giving me garden ideas.

EmmaEmerald · 08/10/2023 22:01

ISay ih that's progress.

I hear there's a solar eclipse this weekend but not visible in the UK. Wonder if it will have any effects.

Sorciere1 · 08/10/2023 22:53

Go visit Enchantments the oldest continuing witchcraft shop in NYC. I always loved it...

oh who's going to NYC, I missed that

been many a time but wasn't into this sort of thing then.

Oops forgot to @SeaEssence . I grew up in NYC and Magickal Childe was the place back then. Creepy, dank, shop. ugh I loathed going there. When Enchantments opened it was fantastic, utterly different warm vibe...

SeaEssence · 09/10/2023 07:58

@Sorciere1 @EmmaEmerald thank you ladies, looks wonderful, definitely putting on my list 😃

Trenzalor · 09/10/2023 10:48

Greetings sisters. I’m trying to catch up again after a long absence. There are not enough hours in the day for me to keep up with everything!

I hope everyone is well.

HillsBesideTheSea · 10/10/2023 11:47

I am considering going to a mind body soul event in the future. Is there anything I should be aware of to make the most of it? I am currently in two minds because I have had really mixed responses to concentrated environments. But I am hoping that as it is a temporary event rather than a fixed location that it will just be the 'ew people' aspect that i need to watch for. I do not do well in crowds. Any tips to prevent it being energy draining and exhausting?

Hedjwitch · 10/10/2023 11:58

Greetings all. Feeling very despondent and downhearted today. Life seems to be just a round of work, housework, sleep. Repeat. So much to be grateful for and ashamed of feeling miserable!

EmmaEmerald · 10/10/2023 18:34

Hills I don't do well in crowds, if it's the Alexandra Palace event, just getting near there is irritating (unless car or cab).

I wouldn't imagine my mind, body or soul would benefit from that sort of thing - are you sure it's your thing?

I am absolutely furious about various things at the moment, anyone have herbs to get rid of rage, lol.

ISaySteadyOn · 10/10/2023 19:23

Chamomile? I think that helps, it's supposed to be soothing.

VioletCharlotte · 10/10/2023 20:19

Hedjwitch Sorry you're feeling so down. I'm sure you must feel pretty downbeat after your weekend away got cancelled, I would too. Yes, there is a lot to be grateful for, but you're still entitled to be fed up. I hope you feel a bit lighter soon.
*
Hills* what type of event is it? I've been to a few of these things, I'm not so keen on the big events, like the one Emma mentioned, I find them way too overwhelming. I've been to smaller ones held in a local hotel that have been quite good. As well as the stalls, there were workshops you could take part in which I enjoyed.

EmmaEmerald · 10/10/2023 20:27

ISay yes, I will try that.

Violet did you mention an amazing place with a lake upthread? Could you remind me the name please?

HillsBesideTheSea · 10/10/2023 21:41

It's a fairly small event and i am familiar with the venue (its a fairly small venue) and have been there for other events for a hobby. Parking has options, escape options if break needed. Just not too sure what to expect from that type of event.
