chibi - praying for your dd and welcome. I have a ten month old by the way - as well as some bigger girls The first time they are ill is scary indeed but calpol will be your friend

chibi · 21/02/2008 19:02

thankyou NL

Swaliswan · 21/02/2008 19:54

Chibi - praying for your precious DD and for you. My (nearly 9mo) DD got properly sick over Christmas. I know how it can be scary when they get a temperature. Just get plenty of water and some calpol into her and let her sleep as much as she wants. Are you getting enough rest? Whereabouts in the country are you?

Notquitegrownup · 21/02/2008 21:23

Flying by. Welcome chibi. Praying for your lo. (Do check on the bottle as to what age you can start, but if her temperature is high, you can use infant neurofen with paracetamol, either at the same time, or alternating them, so that you can give more regular doses of temperature controlling stuff. )

Mary, if you want to text me or CAT me with your home address, I'll pop CTB in the post to you.

God bless all.

CaptainCaveman · 21/02/2008 21:26

Welcome Chibi - you can ask for prayer as often and whenever you like, we are always happy to pray for anyone (whether they ask for it or not )
Praying your precious dd is soon on the mend, and that God may reassure you as her mummy that He has it all in hand.

chibi · 22/02/2008 09:04

after 4 fevery days, my dd seems to be on the mend! thank you all for your prayers + thank God

Swaliswan · 22/02/2008 12:23

A quick prayer request. I'm supposed to go back to work on 3rd march and I still haven't had confirmation from work of what days/hours I will be working. I have been told today that I should hear from them by the middle of next week. Please pray that they will be sympathetic to our needs and will accommodate my request for social hours on monday, tuesday and wednesday. My childminder (a wonderfully understanding and patient mother from church) only works monday-wednesday so I'll be stuck if they want me to work other days.

TIA xxx

Roseylea · 22/02/2008 12:29

Hi everyone!

Our internet's been down so I've not been able to post this week so it's nice to be back!

Hi Chibi and welcome. So glad that your dd is better.

BM well done for investigating the New Age centre. That sort of thing is quite popular in the bits of rural soth west scotland that we went to.

CD I still don't know what your job will be! I'd love to know!

Mary a big {{{hug}}} for you and your ds, poor love.

Well this is a flying visit as I am off for the weekend on a vocations conference. If you could remember to pray for me I'd really appreciate it. And hey - how's this for impressive - I'm taking a small rucksack and my handbag! Travelling light! The conference is a mixture of spiritual things like "How to know God's will" etc and practical stuff about the CofE, as well as a fair bit of time for prayer and chatting to staff. So it could be, and hopefully will be really good for me. THe book I'm taking to read in my free time is "No Compromise" about Keith Green, which BM recommended.

So I'll see y'all on Sunday! Have lovely weekends!

ZipadiSuzy · 22/02/2008 13:46

Ooh Rosey have a fab time

Chibi - welcome, prayers for your dd's continuing recovery.

CC - I'm glad work has sorted itself out, we are going through it atm aswell, lots of change with a new company that took over last Autumm, lots of upset people, instructors now having to work through all school holidays (yikes) I personally am not able, may have to resign!

Prayers all around, have a lovely weekend all of you!

I'm off for a rest on the family bed now, whilst twins watch cebeebies (on bed with me)

bobsmum · 22/02/2008 13:48

Enjoy No Compromise RL! Do you have any of KG's music? Very 70s sounding but inspirational lyrics.

MaryBS · 22/02/2008 16:55

Quick msg from CD: Her PC is playing up so she can't get online, but love to you all...

RL - praying you get your vocation affirmed (as if it needed to be!) this weekend, and you are left with a clear sense of how you are to complete your essays!

Sooz and SS, praying for your job situations, and all those worried about their jobs.

chibi - praise GOD your dd is on the mend, and welcome BTW!

I could do with a prayer. I am finding it increasingly difficult to sort out childcare in hols because of DS's insecurities, and leaving him with someone new. I would love to give up work but DH says our financial situation isn't strong enough for that (I think we could manage, but he isn't budging). Friends can help out at half term etc, but 4 weeks in the summer is too much to ask of anyone (except my mum and she's becoming increasingly reluctant to do it, having done it for the past 2 years, plus we tend to fall out in that time!). I think if I PUSHED work with "if I can't have 4 weeks unpaid, I'll have to quit", they might give it to me, but if I do that I have to be prepared for them to let me go (woohoo!).

OK, if I'm being honest here, I'd like prayers that I can find a way of giving up work AND DH agreeing to it!

PandaG · 22/02/2008 19:48

hello all

praying fro your work/childcare situation Mary, that you are able to wotk out waht ir right and that you are all happy

chibi - so glad to hear DD ison the mend

podglet · 22/02/2008 20:05

Hi all,

Sorry haven't been around this week but we've all been poorly again. DS miserable with teeth, DP today has come down with a sick bug and I have DS's cold lots of get well prayers if you can spare them please?

CD - hope the girls are getting better

CC - hope you and bean and the other Cavey's are ok

Mary and SS - prayers for childcare and work issues.

Have tried to catch up but will do better over the weekend. Hope everyone is ok and prayers for all.

worzella · 22/02/2008 22:09

Hi everyone - praying for the situations mentioned. I'd appreciate some prayer - I feel really flu like... haven't got time to be ill!!

ZipadiSuzy · 23/02/2008 12:26

WorZella/Podglet - prayers for you health, hope you recover soon.

Mary - Prayers for a solution to your childcare, if you live in South Notts I'd help out, I bet your ds would run a mile at our rather loud family though! I hope your work can give you unpaid leave, could you find a term time job? actually I have a vague feeling I have heard of special leave you can have for supporting family life, it works like maternity leave, you can take a certain amount of time off. I know if your children/dh are sick and you cannot get care you are legible. Anyway Good luck and lots of prayers

CD - Love and prayers for CD, hope you don't get withdrawral symptoms off the computer, has she a library she could get to to go on computer? it does give you a well earned break when stuck at home with kiddies, ooooh prayers for your new job when you start.

Swaliswan · 23/02/2008 16:02

Ladies, two slightly unexpected things have happened today that DH and I could do with a bit of help placing in the hands of the Lord. The not-so-nice thing that has happened is that I have (finally) started bleeding a tiny amount which assume is going to be the beginning of my body realising that it isn't pg anymore. Hopefully, this means that I won't have to go for a scan and that things will sort themselves out. I feel a bit relieved because it hopefully means that DH and I can move on now without having to go to the hospital.

The second thing that has happened today is that DH and I have put an offer in on a house! We have been keeping our eyes out for a project in the local area as we can only afford to buy a house if it needs a lot of work doing to it due to some poor money management in the past. Anyway, we went along to an open day at a house that was being marketted using an 'offers over' system. We've just been to the estate agents to formalise our offer and it turns out that no-one else has made an offer yet I absolutely adore the house (or the house it could be with some love) but know that we really need the Lord to protect us from making a mistake if it would be one and to also make sure we get it if that is where we are supposed to be. I would never have dreamt of owning a house with such huge rooms for a very long time yet. For the first time ever, DH and I would have enough room for all of our clutter and.......... a garden!

CaptainCaveman · 23/02/2008 21:07

Praying for your situation SS - sounds like new beginnings on more than one front? I will say the same prayer for both of us re houses as we have found a house we love and put in an offer but have yet to sell ours (only one viewing so far!). May our plans come to fruition, if it is God's will.

Praying for you too Mary, that God guides you to a childcare resolution which pleases both you, ds and dh.

We're all grand thanks for asking Podglet. Ds getting very excited today when I told him I could feel the baby move. I think he was disappointed he couldn't feel it too but he sang a song to the baby anyway, and was 'teaching him how to cuddle'

Please could I ask for prayers for my friend. She is 13weeks pg and has been told this week to expect to lose the baby very soon . I don't know what the problem is, it didn't feel appropriate to ask. So sad for her and her dh.

amber32002 · 24/02/2008 13:56

Shall be praying for everyone on here.

Please can I also ask for prayer for our teenage son? He was first to open the door today and found a neighbour the other side of it, telling us that our cat had been run over and has died. A very loved family cat and we're all in a state of shock over it.

ZipadiSuzy · 24/02/2008 18:27

amber - prayers for your saddness, especially ds

SS - sounds fabulous, prayers you get the house.

CC - prayers for you to sell your house quickly, especially if you have already put an offer on the other house

Prayers for my computer, I nipped out, whilst ds2 was playing on it, have returned to the screen sideways on, tried everything, so am goin now as I am getting a crinked neck any computer nerds out there, please put me out of my misery, sorry nerds is probably the wrong term when you are asking for help

Roseylea · 24/02/2008 19:33

Helloooooooooooooo all!

I've had a fab weekend. The food was magnificent! And they had a bar! (That's the CofE for you!) Good food for thought, too. I've come back with armfuls of info and new books to read!

Amber so sorry to hear about your cat and your son - may the Lord hold him gently tonight.

Hi Soozy! Hope your computer starts behaving itself!

Mary, praying for your ds / work issues. May it all fall into place in His perfect timing.

Praying for your friend, CCM. How awful .

I'm praying for you too Swali as you cope with your body adjusting. And for this house! Sounds exciting! May He give you guidance.

BM I'm really enjoying "No Compromise" - deeply challenging! I've got one CD by Keith Green and I can't listen to it without singing along (esp. his version of "Holy, Holy, Holy" - it's physically impossible for my mouth to stay shut and not sing along to that! )

Lots of love to everyone else. I'm soooooooo tired now, after my somewhat intensive weekend. I need an evening in front of the telly with a glass of something red in my hand!

CaptainCaveman · 24/02/2008 21:00

Glad you had a nice time Rosey - thoroughly deserved. The only glass of red in my hand tonight will be ribena!!

Please could you pray for my, seemingly, never ending headache? And for a little patience to return - it's most unlike me to shout and yet I've shouted at ds twice today (admittedly he was jumping on my head whilst I was trying to sleep )

Praying for a joyous and peace-filled week for you all. May you witness God in all that you see and do. x

PandaG · 24/02/2008 21:06

hello all - quiet here today!

glad ou had a good time away Rosey - enjoy your unwinding with something red!

praying for your headache CC.

Amber, praying fro your DS.

I have had a busy weekend - spa meet last night with KatzG and others, and a mad church lunch today at Worzella's 16(I think) children and 20plus adults. MAd but fun!

worzella · 24/02/2008 21:13

Panda - can you ask your DH about switching the computer screen round - my year 11s did it on Thurs so it is easy to do... Isee Zipi's post above!)

Lunch was mad - but I didn't cook - someone else from church kindly provided all the main course and everyone else brought bits. It was quite a squash - but lots of fun!

Still feeling ill...

PandaG · 24/02/2008 22:08

DH says the computer prob is something on gthe graphics card driver, but can't say exactly what...sorry!

Notquitegrownup · 25/02/2008 10:19

Morning ladies. Flying by!

Re the wonky computer screens, do post under Geeky Stuff as I am sure I have seen this problem posted about - and solved easily - recently on MN.

Prayers and hugs. God bless all.
